Wow, I slept in real late for me, 5 am. But felt good. So got some coffees into me and as the sun was rising headed out for a refreshing walkabout. Only about 48 f and windy just another layer of clothes and I was good to go.
Back home puttered around a bit cleaned up our car for passengers and at 9 am Ron and Loree joined us for a short trip to Los Algodones Mexico, their first time there. Many times for us. Only less than 10 minutes from the campground, parked on the Indian land parking lot 6 bucks for the day, and Ron insisted on paying, thanks guys. Then we walked across the border checking our some vendors and getting them used to the constant vendors wanting to sell you something
(you don't need ), bartering etc. and how to have fun with them as well. Always an experience we enjoy.

they know where the money comes from |
my first walkabout this morning |
here we are about 9 am. |
Loree and Ron's first time here not sure what to expect |
We explored up and down a few streets and this nice quiet courtyard love the colors here and different things to see.
catching our breath here for a while |
love the colors of this bench |
We were looking for the vendors that do some wonderful paintings and one fellow on a corner directed us to the place. they had moved a couple of blocks from there usual spot for years.
Watching this painter do his stuff is truly an amazing thing to see. Ended up Ron and Loree watched this guy (Marlon, he joked Marlon Brando) custom paint a sign for them. With his Mexican paint brush, pieces of cardboard and a plastic bag using cans of spray paint. Hard to believe what he can create with these items.
he had just created this background, and talking to them came up with a beautiful custom scene right before our eyes |
that is all he works with and so fast |
using the plastic bag for the trees |
like magic he added a waterfall and trees |
how is this you like? |
They loved this one so he personalized it for them.
this guy is amazing what he can do |
almost done they love it |
paw prints for Freddy and a chain to hang it with |
Now they happy and a few more vendors we explored before time to meet our friends for lunch at 11 am. They are having too much fun and want to come back again already.
so many interesting things to see another hidden courtyard |
Eventually tome to meet up at the inner courtyard We got a table for 10 hoping that Jean and Skip might show up depending how he was feeling after his route canal at 8:30 this morning
the bar in the centre of the courtyard |
We settled in and ordered our drinks and lunch Jean and Skip did not make it a route canal is not fun |
huge very good margaritas Rob and Pat enjoyed |
Ron and I enjoyed this very tasty dark beer $2.50 |
for Suzie a Chicken Quesadilla she enjoyed |
and me 3 fish tacos, rice and refried beans excellent 5 bucks |
We all enjoyed a tasty lunch chatting with each other and sharing more fun things that we did. Also the live band there was very good even got to have a dance with Pat , just because we were there walking by the dance floor together and a good song was being played.
these guys were very good |
we done now making our way back |
We found a shrimp vendor and checked them out. But going for lunch with good friends. Rob, Pat, Patsy and Bill first. In the courtyard we enjoy the atmosphere.
Lunch done Ron, Loree and us picked up a couple pounds of large shrimp (not the jumbo) $8.00 a lb from Rocky Point. We always enjoy these amazing shrimp, would have gotten more but not enough freezer space. Hope we get back for more before we head home.
on the right these shrimp are HUGE, bigger than we like $11.00 a pound |
these are $8,.00 a pound and are a perfect size |
Next was a stop at the Purple store to pick up some goods. Some nice Tequila, Baileys filled Chocolates that Suzie loves and on the left Macadamia Cream Liquor we sampled that is oh so tasty.
some very tasty treats |
Now back home about 1 pm we relaxed outside in the warm afternoon sun, in front of our coach and out of the wind gusts to 25 mph or more from the NW. We did enjoy our e-readers and fresh air outside for a couple of hours, and of course a couple of windy walkabouts for me too.
windy and cooler but wonderful warm sunny blue skies |
About 4:30 we headed inside for the night as it is cooling down and once again no supper tonight. Think a bit later we will watch a show or a movie with some popcorn and an apple, a treat we both really enjoy that be supper.
While sitting here inside reading and posting this blog can watch the sun setting right outside our window. Another very nice desert sunset, not very often we don't get a nice one here.
in a mater of minutes it drops quickly |
that is it then gone |
What can I say about these fun times here, a short trip to Mexico for some touristy fun stuff, and a tasty lunch, enjoying the sunshine a fresh air with good friends.
Any who that was our day and hope you day a]was a good one as well , thanks for dropping on by.

ReplyDeleteThey do take some planning but we can sure pack lot of stuff in ours, we can only eat so much.
DeleteI'm a long time reader of your blogs and have been receiving them via email. It looks like the time has come to say goodbye. I haven't received an email notification since December 14, 2018. I have unsubscribed and re-subscribed 3 times without correcting this problem. I can go into your main page and find the blogs for each day but that's a hassle. I've enjoyed and always looked forward to receiving your emails. Maybe this problem will be corrected someday. Thanks for allowing me to receive these blogs over the last several years. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThank for following along, Frank, sad to see you go, not sure why your can't get it anymore. I know quite a few people who still do. I have not changed anything on my settings, just another blogger glitch I guess.
