Where are we today ?

It was cold over night 26F at 5am (-3C) and we had a bit more snow but not too bad. We toasty warm inside so no problem there, much warmer when we don't have to open our slide. After coffees, computing and a walkabout the Walmart for a few more purchases, checked out tires and lights, secured our coach and hit the road at 8:15 am. The roads were good, dry, no wind and the sun came out about noon, really warming up the day.
lots of ice on the front of our coach |
snow and ice on our car |
the roads are bare and pretty dry |
Now after lunch Suzie can have a nap, no need to navigate. Back on I-70 east the bypass around Indianapolis and to the Flying J in Spiceland, we have stayed at before. Just a nice easy drive.
I think this navigator needs a rest |
The by-pass right here, miss the city and the traffic, easy-peasy |
all parked for the night |
Now for supper tonight Suzie decided that she would like to grab something at Denny's. So I guess I don't need to cook. Hmm , but I have a plan, passenger wiper blade needs replacing Again! I checked out what they had and got a much better quality one. A few minutes later that was taken care of, and I checked e-mails relaxed for a bit then we headed on in for supper.
They were not too busy and we had great service. Loved some of the pics inside some retro stuff.
there we are in Spiceland ! |
from days gone by |
Suzie's Omellete |
my spicy chicken skillet |
We scanned for local Hi def channels on our antenna and picked up about 50 , so lotsa choices, we found a John Wayne and Ann-Margaret a 1973 movie Train Robbers , we both love these old westerns.
That was it about it for another great travel day.
Thanks for joining us and hope y'all had a good one as well.

Where have we been this winter ?
Glad you were able to move on today with good roads. a little bit of snow doesn't slow us down. :)
ReplyDeleteSupper looks delicious!
Take care as you move on tomorrow. i'm sure we'll see you soon!
It was a good travel day, once the roads cleared, passed a few spots where vehicles had sold off the road and some still in the ditch.
DeleteSupper was excellent.
Yikes. Looks like you are north a little too soon! We are going to spend a couple of weeks in Texas waiting for things to warm up a bit more.
ReplyDeleteMost years we are good at this time of year, but can't predict the weather, it is still a bit better here than back in Ontario. Enjoy your time in south Texas.
DeleteGlad to read that the roads were dry and clear so you could continue on your way. I always like when the snow clings to the trees it makes everything look like a wonderland. Plus, it does make for some really nice pictures. Stay warm and continued safe travels.
ReplyDeleteThe roads were excellent no problem there and see the snow in the trees was a a nice sight. Hope we don't see too much more of that stuff.
DeleteYou're moving right along but looks like you are going to beat spring weather getting home.
ReplyDeleteYes Larry we are moving right along , But the weather is not co-operating.
DeleteMoving quickly. This darn winter weather just doesn't want to let go this Spring. It won't be long though. Enjoy your journey.
ReplyDeleteYes I see that but usually it is nt too bad at this time of year, oh well we take it as it comes. We have fun no matter what you know that.
DeleteThe roads are bare because everyone else is SOUTH where it's warmer!! LOL Glad you are out of the snow. I ordered the bbq mat ... can't wait to try it out!!
ReplyDeleteWe was south and soon have to be back home, wish we could;d stay longer but these government tules are frustrating.
DeleteEnjoy you mat I like for a lot of things, just not everything.
Wouldn't it be nice if we Canadians were allowed a few weeks more in the USA per year without all the restrictions? Hope the rest of your travel goes as smooth as it has been so far and having someone else cook dinner is nice for a change, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteA few more weeks would be just about perfect. Travel is going well, but we have a rude awaking last night. You can read about it on tonights posting, dinner was tasty but I still prefer to cook our own.
DeleteSpring is slow to start this year, It seems that the cold weather is continuing everuwhere.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right Peter hope it gets here soon.
DeleteGlad the roads were good and that you had such a good drive. Always nice to get off the road for the night some place you know, so there are no surprises.
ReplyDeleteSafe travels.
It was a good travel day and place we have been to easy on and easy off.
DeleteBut then during the night we had did have a big surprise ! Oopsy
Have had no cell service here in South Mississippi and don't check in for 5 days and discover your in snow. Travel safe.
ReplyDeleteThanks for catching up Peter , the weather not great here but too n we be back home, not fun there yet.
DeleteUps guys keep warm as well.
