Where are we today ?

Had great sleep last night, was mild enough for no heat and our bedroom window open a bit as usual. 50f (10C) at 5 am. But had rain most of the night and this morning, finally stopped about noon. Glad we got the temporary fix on our motorhome. No sunshine this morning and a did a short walk down the road with my umbrella in the rain, Nice fresh air and can smell spring in the air and listening to the mourning doves.

Then about 8:30 this morning a trip to New Hamburg for a few groceries, and stop at our version of the DMV
(Service Ontario ) to get the new tag for the plates on our Coach $120.00 a year Renew my Driver's licence ($90.00) every 5 years. And along with my new driver's licence I renew my Health card. I walked in the office, no line up, just me, two friendly ladies behind the counter laughing and enjoying the day. One lady invited me over, I handed her my paper work, she took my new picture, gave me the new tag, for motorhome, processed everything I paid the bill, $210.00 and out the door not much more that 5 minutes, nice. Almost painless except for the money part plus the emissions test I got the other day for the coach. $125.00. Price of gas $1.37 a litre in $5.17cdn ($4.01 US) for a US gallon town here, not to mention alcohol 3 to 4 times more expensive here than in the states. But we get free health care right?

After a light lunch the rain let up for a while and I got another walk about down the road by the river right behind us. Got some more research done and finally set up our Weber Q ! Yahoo !

Right behind where we park this large limb from one of the willow trees finally hit the ground, Was getting lower every year finally it bit the bullet.
Nice to get our Weber Q set up again and can enjoy a few tastier meals on our Weber Q finally !

That was it for our great day here at camp awesome .The weather decent, no snow, ice and no wind, but no sunshine, heck it sure could be a lot worse, At least I am not driving our coach today to get into more accidents !

Where have we been this summer?
Good to not hear of any water damage to the RV, the patch will likely hold until parts arrive. Your pictures are showing lots of signs of spring, it'll be summer soon! Stay dry!

I hear Canadians get free health care. I traveled to Victoria Island B.C., Canada last fall and had to visit urgent care...a bug bite got infected so needed antibiotics. I paid $70 to be seen in Urgent Care plus had to pay for prescription. They gave me receipts so I could file a claim with my health insurance. I never did. I loved the fact that there was no nurse taking vital signs...the doctor herself did all that. Here in the US, the nurse takes your vital signs, doctor looks at the problem and gives nurse instructions to give to patient and advise patient of any prescriptions needed. I like it that I spoke to the doctor and the doctor asked me questions and wrote the prescription and why.
ReplyDeleteI have no complaints here with our health care get we treated well. Though sometimes it may take quite a while for a corrective surgery unless it is an emergency.
DeleteFunny how they play with the price of gas here. The other day it was 1.32 in Orleans where I live. Had to go south to Kemptville just south of Ottawa and it was 1.21 there. On the way back it was 1.28. Who knows how much it is today.
ReplyDeleteYes it is frustrating and too expensive, some places on the same street a difference if 5 cents or more a litre.
DeleteA little bit of rain must fall to green up the grass so we don't mind. Now today we woke up to white grass and that isn't what we expected! LOL It will melt with the sun once the fog disappears.

Camp Awesome looks wonderful. Glad you were able to use the Weber Q, know that makes you happy! Nice when it's an easy trip to DMV. We love our little one here in Yerington. Gas is an ouch for ya. It's going up here day by day. Hitting close to $3.00 a gallon. More in the big cities. Have a great day!

DeleteFuel prices going up as is everything else. Another reason we do not do a lot of travelling in the summer.
