That was a rude awakening !

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Having great night's sleep here at the Flying J in Spiceland Indianna Lotsa room at the front away from the truckers in the back and it was very quiet other than the heavy rain. When all of a sudden we heard a very large bang and and our coach rocked back and forth!  WTH! We both woke up and hopped out of the bed opened the blind on Suzie's side to notice a motorhome pulling a large trailer pulling away quickly heading to the interstate. Hm off course it was dark and raining no way to get a license number.
Grabbed our hats and shoes and went outside to survey the damage.
Not too bad, but bad enough it hit our left rear compartment took off some trim, a small hole in the tail light lense, of course paint damage and body work will be needed. The good thing was the compartment still opens and our slide was not open.
lots of room here
at least we can still access that compartment
the lock and latch still work
not real bad but bad enough
2 black smudges just before the slide out, glad we had it closed
tiny hole in tailight lens
Ok we awake now may as well have breakfast and think about this. Went inside to tell them and ask for the phone number for the police. We waited a bit while Suzie called our insurance broker to report it. And called the Sheriff's department and they promptly sent a nice officer to write up a report for our insurance company. Not much left to do other than wait for the rain to let up and some day break. And hear back from the insurance company.
Well after 9am it was not letting up so we hopped on the road heading east on I-70, and north on I-75 to Wapakoneta Ohio only 118 miles. Destination, Arrowhead Lakes resort a CTC membership park only $10.00 a night with fullhookups, free wifi (not great, but sometimes not bad) and a very nice indoor pool. It was a very nice drive (lol) if it was not for the major downpour that is only supposed to end at Midnight tonight now at least we are in a campground with services, the weather not expected to get any better, snow tomorrow?  Checked in and got a pull through site across for Bill and Patsy , They were just heading out will see them later probably.
 a wet travel day
Ohio arch kinda wet we have seen it much drier
Not long after we pulled into our park.
this the place
Getting set up between the rain  showers takes a while.
creek behind us getting pretty full;
got my boots out to hook us up
this be our site
many sites water logged
creek behind us getting full
Love the pool and hot tubs here not today but hopefully soon.
yup it is wet here
Shortly after 4 pm Bill and Patsy returned, we chatted for a bit, they took Clemson for a walk and we joined them for a later than usual happy hour, nice to do some more catchups for a day or two.  Sounds like they had a great day out and about touring the area.
doggie fix for Suzie with Clemson
chatting wit Bill and Patsy
Soon time to head home and whip up supper for tonight gonna shake and bake a couple of boneless, skinless chicken breasts in the oven, no point setting up our Weber Q today, possible more rain and maybe even snow, no problem we quite comfy here.
anther treat and was tasty
Supper sure hit the spot and the rain is holding off for a while yet. No problem once again we settled in for a few days with FHU.s. Like it here before we head back home into colder Ontario.
Thanks for dropping on by for a peek!
only 118 miles today

    1. It takes all kinds of people to make the world go round. But thats what we have insurance for. Nice to see Bill Patsy and Clemson again, there is only so many membership parks on the way home so chances if seeing each other are pretty good.

  9. That is a very wide open Flying J.

Do they have cameras scanning the parking area? I would think they do.

  11. SOOOO irritating!!! I'm betting he didn't even know what he did! People should have to take driving tests if they pull trailers. I would be sick ... it's bad enough if "I" do it, but to have someone else damage your rig and just drive off ....... I've no words. So sorry!!

    1. Yes Nancy very irritating , just glad our coach is not brand new, now that would be really upsetting.

  14. So sorry about the damage, glad it wasn't worse than it was but it is still a pain. I bet if it was a long trailer he probably didn't even know he hit you.

The weather looks miserable. Hope the sun comes out soon for you.

  22. I don't think I've ever heard of a 'hit and run' RV driver before. And here I thought all we RV folks were fine upstanding honest folks. If that water keeps rising you may have to either move or put your water wings on.

    1. We have actually seen a few rv'ers do stuff like this Al. And this guy got away scot free, maybe some damage to their trailer. But caul not see it. Most rv'ers are amazing people but only takes one.
Water level went down today so we put our water wings away.

  25. That's a shame - what a nice vehicle - hope you get it back up to snuff without too many headaches.

Using my 20/20 hingsight, I'm thinking of a security camera myself - would help in times like this.

    1. We will get it all fixed up no problem. There is security cameras but we were a long way away and in the dark and pouring rain, don't think it would have helped.
