Yup it It was cold last night but again we toasty warm here, 24 f at 5 am. But we are ready to hit the road. Just puttering around and in no real hurry. Let Suzie sleep as long as she wants.
The first picture below was the last sunset we had here in Wapakoneta long after I posted the blog. Too nice not to share.
our last sunset here in Ohio
But as the sun came up this morning I got a nice walkabout, yes cold , but no wind and just bundle up and enjoy this fresh morning air. It is invigorating.
nice reflections buy the pond
About 8:30 am we were all secured and on the road, a great travel day, sunny and not windy, perfect!
Heading north on I-75 a nice easy drive. Past Findlay Ohio,
Flag City but we did not see any Flags
Then moving right along a bit of construction but no slow downs and easy going, very little traffic. Stopped at the Michigan welcome centre to stretch and a short break before making our way through Detroit onto the I-96 then I-94.
Detroit Pistons
Easy drive around through Detroit and north on I-94 to Port Huron Michigan and our border crossing.
a nice quiet drive on I-94 , always enjoy this routte
We stopped at the last rest area and made a bite to eat for lunch, Then into Maryysville to fuel our coach the last time for cheap fuel in the states. Gas  $2:61 a gallon. From here only 10 miles to the Bluewater bridge into Canada.
getting close
the bridge
No line ups at customs a quick easy, painless crossing and in minutes back into Canada. Told him how long and what we had, fruits, veggies, lotsa meat, have a good day, gotta love it!
no lineups
Welcome to ontario Canada!
We now back home after another wonderful winter in the southwest, now we can hang out here for most of the summer hoping that summer or even spring, comes soon.
Hwy 402 east then some back roads,
making our way to New Hamburg
familiar territory lost of wind turbines
spotted some snow by the roads, but at least not on the roads
our first roundabout will see many more
stopped at this GOCO by Stratford to top up our propane
63.9 cents a litre. $2.42  US GALLON CDN!
last propane in the states was $3.35 US a gallon!
Right on schedule at 3:20pm we pulled int to Suzie's brother's place by New Hamburg all set up for a bit. A nice place that we can stay for a while.
all setup now
a nice place to visit with here brother, sit and Suzie's Dad

Sandy had planned supper for us a fried up some tasty farmer's sausage, mashed taters, and mixed veggies.

  4. Glad you made it through Detroit and home safe and sound. We have been on I-94 in bumper to bumper more than once. Our son and his wife live off of I-94 in St. Clair Shores.
Every time we have driven through Findlay, OH I have wondered the same thing...where are the flags. Great pictures of the reflections on the ponds by the way.
Looks like you had a very nice welcome home.

  8. Thank goodness you have a good heater. I have a feeling you'll be using it for a while. No place in the winter/spring is like Arizona. We've discovered that too with the night time temperatures.

  12. Welcome home to Canada. I bet you are relieved, relaxed and happy and now will concentrate on the things you want to accomplish before setting for the summer. Hope all goes well. Wish the crossing into Canada would be so nice for us too. The Ambassador Bridge is almost falling apart and there are always a million trucks traveling over the reduced lanes as well as long lineups at the border. Enjoy your stay with the family.
