Above freezing last night and mostly overcast today. Did get up to 50F (10C) this afternoon. so not too bad. I got a nice back road drive about the area for a bit this morning. Stopped at the Home Hardware in Plattsville picked up our free replacement oil and vinegar sprayer, then fuelled the car. Wow! Sticker shock again 7.3 gallons of gas $37.42 ! Oh Canada! Then grabbed a few more supplies for tonight's supper. Not too great for walkabouts so did a few short ones.not a very sunny day but not bad at least not too cold |
love the sprayer, and a lifetime warranty |
For supper tonight going to cook a bone in ham 8 lbs we picked up in Ohio for a very good price. and make a Brown sugar and honey glaze for it, For the recipe you can clic HERE or my recipe blog top tight sidebar. Adding to our salad and ham, Sandy make few mashed taters and veggies.

That was another great day we had, not too cold and lots of things to keep us busy right here and spend some time with Suzie's brother and sister in law Sandy.
The forecast for tomorrow does not look great, (freezing rain and ice) but I have a feeling that all this weather will miss this area and we may be spared . Not the gospel but just a feeling I have.
Thanks for stopping by and joining in our travels. Hope y'all had a great day too.

Where have we been this summer?
We paid 3.55 per gallon of diesel fuel today in Idaho. The attendant told Colin that they will be raising the price of regular gas by .50cents per gallon in two weeks. Has the world gone crazy.
ReplyDeleteSorry about your weather. All I can say is that I hope that this is not the new normal.
Everything is getting more expensive all the time, a sign of the times.
DeleteNot much we can do about the weather here, but it has been a lot worse and did not have to deal with it.
That's a bit high for fuel...hope it is not going to stay up at these new prices.
ReplyDeleteThe baked ham looked really good and I can only imagine how good it tasted.
The fuel in Canada is alway vey pricey compared to the USA.
DeleteThe ham was very tasty thanks.
Hope you are right about the bad weather missing the area you are in.
ReplyDeleteThe ham dinner looks delicious.
We will wait and see about the weather but I have a feeling it will miss us, at least I can hope.
DeleteThe ham was yummy.
Looks like a nice day. I hope the weather misses you, we know it is supposed to hit Stratford and Mount Forest areas, which means The Ridge. :(
ReplyDeleteSupper looks yummy, I love ham.
Stay dry!
It was a pretty decent day after all, the weather will go where it wants maybe it will miss you guys too, we can always hope.
DeleteA bone in ham is always the best.
It's sad how often new things don't work. Your ham looks delicious
ReplyDeleteYes Larry it can be frustrating, our last sprayer worked good for quite a few years. The ham was excellent, and of course we get good mileage out of it.
DeleteI guess I won't complain about the cost of fuel here any more!! YIKES!! The ham looks amazing. Haven't cooked one in years!
ReplyDeleteThe gas works out 50 $5;12 per US gallon and will get higher, People wonder why we don't travel more in Canada.
DeleteThe ham was very tasty a real nice treat.
Wow and I thought our fuel prices were bad! Ham and fixings look so good!! Soup with the ham bone will be awesome I'm sure! What a beautiful home Dennis and Sandy have!
ReplyDeleteWe have always found fuel prices much better in the states. Donner was wonderful and the Ham and bean soup for lunch today was awesome.
DeleteDennis and Sandy do have a very have home here.
