Nice quiet cozy sleep last night down to 24 f (-4c) . up early and a short walkabout then hopped in the car and stopped by Pettigrew's garage in Plattsville to see what was new in town. These guys are busy as usual and nice to chat for a bit, They All welcomed us back to Canada. Then a drive into New Hamburg for a few supplies that were needed.

an almost nice sunrise through the trees |
And back home to pick up Suzie. We headed into the Staples in Stratford to get a new laptop for her. I needs to be replaced. Even though it was repaired in Huachuca City Arizona still not right the monitor keeps going white and not usable. Mind you it at least got us back home and it is 10 years old, and does get a lot of use.

some familiar back roads |
Back home from Staples her new laptop should be ready for pick up on Wednesday. Enjoyed a light lunch then in the house to whip up a tasty casserole that Sandy asked me to make that she found on the internet, No Problem, she had the recipes and all the ingredients, and she know I love cooking. Just a matter of doing it. For the recipe you can click
HERE or my recipe blog top right sidebar.
This made a lot of food could easily cut n half and still have lots.

ready for the oven |
2 large casserole dishes one for the 4 of us and one for our niece and her family. There will be lotsa leftovers I am sure.
Not a bad day at all, did get up to 45 f (7C) and sunny for most of it. No snow and no wind. Better than it has been here, we will take it, like it or not ,lol...

we have a nice spot right back here, quite farm country |
Just puttered around for a bit then before we knew it time for supper. So I whipped up a salad and we enjoyed some of this very tasty chicken casserole.

did the trick tonight |
Our first day back and getting things in order, one day at a time. It just flew on by. Suzie Happy with her new laptop coming, then she will be busy setting it all up again, the joys of a windows PC. I will be shopping at some point for a new MacBook as well, still works , but has a few issues and it too is 10 years old.
Want to thank you all for the welcome homes and stopping by and checking us out.
Hope you's had a great day as well. We looking forward to some much warmer weather in a few days, long overdue.

Where have we been this summer?
Gosh that is cold for April. It can only get warmer. Yes always lots to do when you first get home.
ReplyDeleteGetting a few things taken care if, now that we are here.
DeleteOnly 197 days!!!
ReplyDeleteTime will fly by. Enjoy!
Thanks!
Yes the time will fly better when it warms up.
DeleteSeems like you are moving along with being back in Canada. Casserole looks really yummy for a cold night
ReplyDeleteWe are getting things take care of while we can and then we cn enjoy he warm weather when it arrives.
DeleteThe casserole was very tasty.
It is good to settle in and glad to hear you've got Suzie's laptop on order. She will be so happy.
ReplyDeleteIt is getting warmer each day and sounds warm for the weekend.
She be happy with her new computer.
DeleteWe settled in for a few days waiting for the warm weather.
I love my mac and mine is like your's, getting older but it works great and I hope to keep it for a long time to come. Ten years is a long time for any computer so you've certainly got your money's worth from both of them.
ReplyDeleteBe nice when it warms up and starts to behave like spring. Nothing we can do about it but it would be nice.
Stay warm.
Once you use a Mac there is no going back to a frustrating windows computer. My still works quite well just looking into the future. Sure got my money's worth of my Mac Book.
DeleteSoon will warm up even a bit is better.
I'd say ten years with a lap top is good value. Been on borrowed time for a few years I'd think.
ReplyDeleteYes 10 years is good hope to keep mine going a while longer yet.
DeleteSuzi's is fine but the monitor is going, so get it replaced before it quits completely.
Love my MacBook Pro. Not cheap by any means, but it's the best for photography. I think mine is five years old. Luckily the only problem was when I spilled water on it. Dinner looks delicious!!! Casseroles rule!
ReplyDeleteThe Mac Book is not cheap initially but in the long run think it is cost effective and much less frustrating.
DeleteDinner was excellent thanks.
You got a good mileage out of your computers. 10 years is a lot for a computer as the technology has marched on so quickly in the last few years. You both will be so happy to play with your new toys, I am sure. Have fun at your family's place.
ReplyDeleteYes we did not problems there. Suzie will have her new one this week and set up again. Mine still good for a while.
DeleteThanks Marlene always have fun.
That looks like great comfort food! I love the Mac also, would never own something else after trying windows. But to each his own and you want Suzie happy :) Hoping it warms up soon for you!
ReplyDeleteYes comfort food it was and very tasty. Suzie happy me happy! Should be getting some nicer weather soon.
DeleteCurious what kind of PC laptop you decided to buy for Suzie. I would love a Mac, but have never quite managed to opt for the higher price and have had PC's for a long time now. Mine are getting up there as well, about 7 years. Still going strong, and will hope for the best, although that most recent Windows 10 update almost killed my big desktop. All is good again thanks to a fabulous computer guy who got is all running again. Nice to have a new one and not have to deal with that messy Windows update.
ReplyDeleteSuzie decided on an HP 15-bs027ca 15.5 Notebook 2.5 ghz, intel core i5 7200u , 1tb ahh, 8 GB DDR4 window 10 home.. will do what she wants it to do.
DeleteA fabulous computer guy is nice to have access to. You will still have windows updates all the time. I had Pc's for many years, 10 years ago got my mac and love it, but a few programs that she uses do not work on a Mac.
