No big storms . just very warm sunny weather on our last day here.

Where are we today ?

Hey we are still enjoying some amazing very, warm spring time weather. It was quite warm overnight, down to 68 F. windows open in the bedroom and fantastic fan going we actually had a very comfortable sleep, no blankets needed.
At 5 am still very warm them cooled down to 60 f by 7 am. overcast, cloudy and a very heavy downpour of rain for about 30 minutes. Thunder storms predicted but no sign of them yet.
After the rain stopped skies cleared made a quick trip to Ashdown for a few things we needed, and home in less than and hour, by 9:30.
Still pretty nice out so  dumped and flushed our sewage, check our tire pressure and oil on the coach and the car. We heading out in the morning.
Then a nice light lunch like we usually do. The rest of my homemade chicken noodle soup to go with my 1/2 Banana, Apple and Orange , just perfect.
my favourite lunch
After lunch still nice out so chairs out to enjoy reading outside. At 12:06 the tornado siren went off to, 4 times then stopped. Check the skies, no clouds, no rain, and no wind think it is north of us in another county, so not to worry. Continue reading, and more walkabouts.
Today I finished another book this one by Laura Hildebrand (Unbroken) a real life story about an Olympic runner, that was in WW11 as a pilot, his plane crash in the south pacific, captured by the Japanese and his years in the POW camps. Very enlightening about some of the very sad things that happened back then.
Next book on the agenda that Suzie enjoyed is this one below. Love when we can enjoy some reading time outside, and usually year round for us.
now getting into this one too
Most of the day slightly over cast but lots on sunny periods, light winds and temps actually got up to 82 f in the shade, yup gotta love it!
While we were outside a new neighbour from Port Rowan Ontario (Chris) stopped by to chat for an hour or so. They have been rv'ing for many years, just came from a rally in Texas, but he finds the travel days very tiring for him now. Maybe 200 miles tops and rest for a while. No wonder he is 88 years old ! Does not look it though, loves the lifestyle. And he just happens to know our favourite funeral director (Jeff Glendinning) that has a funeral home down there as well, small world.
what a wonderful day here
Eventually more reading and walkabouts time to whip up supper. Planned for tonight the rest of our chicken pot pie ( made the other day) and a salad. Just reheat the pie in the oven and we enjoyed more of this tasty pie, crescent roll and salad..
hey worked for us no muss , no fuss
love leftovers
Now we have taken it easy for a week and enjoyed more wonderful weather, time to hit the road on the morning, Heading further north and slightly east, no rush just exploring some new areas that we have not travelled before.
Thanks for taking the time to drop on by and hope you had an awesome day as well.

Another wonderful day that we can enjoy here. It was 60 f overnight windows open for a great sleep, and over cast most of the day at about 72 f. No winds that we noticed, then around 3 pm the clouds cleared and we enjoyed 82 f for a few hours. Deployed our awning and we were good in the shade.
Early this morning just after 8 am, I took drive down the road to (couple miles) to Yarborough Landing. Just nice small village right on the Millwood lake with a boat launch ramp very popular with the local fishermen here. A pretty busy spot here on an early Tuesday morning.
lots of boats out on the lake
more fishermen coming
keep your eyes open
fishing on the docks
trying to catch the BIG one
huge fishing tournament coming soon
gotta love the prize money!
notice the Helipad right here
Now home to putter around for a while loving the warm weather. Walkouts the area and whip up a light lunch,
ponds here still no Gator spottin
Now because we  can and we leaving soon I took a couple loads of laundry to the park Laundry,
Read my book between laundry cycles  then Suzie can put it all way, Working like a team we got it done in no time,
Now between walkabouts got some very nice reading done
and we even discussed a few
plans as well
got pretty hot when the sun came out
so awning comes into play
Soon time to whip up supper, and tonight another wonderful feast of pan fried catfish that we love.
sure do love this catfish
added to our salad and some grilled lemon
it was awesome
After supper was still a very warm evening so we did sit outside reading a bit more until about 7:30 Suzie has a show she wants to see, So inside, wrapping up this blog posting, after another nice sunset.
a very nice sunset tonight
Thank y'all for stopping on by, hope you had a wonderful day as well!

Severe weather possible today, but not to bad so far.

Where are we today ?

Very warm again last night but with the A/C on for a bit, then the windows open, fantastic vent going we had a very nice comfortable sleep.
Got a few very nice walkabouts this morning enjoying this nice comfortable weather in the mid 70's f. This is a pretty nice campground we have been to a few times before. This time it is a CTC membership full hookups $10 a night with 30 amp , and extra if you need 50 amp and we managed to get some very good free wifi as well.
lots of nice rental cabins by the lake here
that huge bass I showed you last night came from this lake
This week here the kids are in spring break so quite a few around having a wonderful time here , pretty quiet and all very friendly. We have found over the years , different areas, states and counties  have spring break at different times so ya never know when it will be in your area. Best to check if you need to make plans in March.
they all having fun here
No where we needed to go and nothing we needed to see in this area right now. The weather gods tell us we having some severe thunderstorms  today. Now this is what is known as tornado alley so not unexpected. We have been coming through here now for 11 years and know what to do. Check with them here at the gate and found out the young lady is with the local fire department and is a "First responder with a pager" so if there is a tornado watch comes in she is right here in the campground (with her family and children ) to move everyone to a secure building they have here. We have been through this many times before and know how to deal with it, not to panic just be prepared to evacuate our RV whenever they come or we hear the sirens. The best that could happen is we could end up alive and well with a  new rv!
Now with this weather so far it was a great morning to whip up a nice big pot of chicken noodle soup. I had soup chicken broth I made earlier in the freezer, so out it came to be made into some tasty soup.
will get a few tasty lunches out of this
tasty? yup
After lunch we had a bit of sunshine  and no rain for a while and got to sit outside and finish another book until after 4 pm.
Then time to whip up supper soon. Tonight had planned  my Easy chicken pot pie recipe is HERE  or check my recipe blog top right sidebar. To go with a small salad.
easy to do and very tasty
you can make it with tuna,  pork or beef if you like
sure did the trick on a rainy, windy day
After supper the rain continued, suppose to be 1.25 inches of  rain today but at least the wind died down. Weather should be better now we hope.
raining pretty good for a bit then
quit now
Looks like most of the weather  system has passed for now so we can switch from our antenna local channels (watching the weather) back to our satellite dish to watch whatever shows Suzie wants to see, for the evening.
Not really too bad of a day after all, the bad weather (tornado) did not happen so we should be good until the next time.
Thanks for dropping in for a peek.

When we back to Canada April 12th.
