Water leak repair, putter around and relax on a wonderful day !

Where are we today ?
A great day we have planned and the plan is? Coffees and walkabouts etc.. first thing, then about 8:30 decided I would check out our toilet install I did 3 weeks ago. Best to do it in a campground with a washroom right across the way. Appears the rubber seal is leaking a tiny bit. So I have in mind the parts I need. Not at the hardware store in town here, so into Strathroy, Home Hardware, picked up a larger wax seal, the tiny ribber one that came with the toilet did not do the trick. A a piece of 1/4 inch plexiglass to replace the 1/4 inch plywood i stalled that totted in 3 weeks because of the leak.
More running than working but got the plexi cut, clean up everything and reinstalled the toilet, All looks good now, no leaks, cross our fingers.
Then putter around a bit more, store a few things we had taken out for our company on the weekend, (Chairs, toys etc..) and got to enjoy our e-readers in the shade on the wonderful hot , humid day. No time for the Fitness centre by the time I was done, maybe tomorrow I hope. About 80f feeling like about 92f (32c) my kind of weather in the shade with a light breeze and no bugs it's wonderful!
Doing what we enjoy when we have time,
enjoy a good book
Before we know it 4:30 pm, thinking about supper. Suzie's choice today is Halibut fillets , done in fish crisp.
So I fired up our Weber Q 100 with our cast iron fry pan. on high about 15-20 minutes with about 2 tablespoons of  olive oil. It gets smoking hot great for frying. Had a friend stop by the other day could not fry on his Weber Q. But he could not close the lid. (You need to close the lid on this grill it will not get hot enough otherwise)
preheating the grill and fry pan
then lightly coated our halibut with Fish Crisp,
fry 2 minutes per side until nicely browned
Drain the fish on a paper towel and enjoy !   Fresh lemon wedges are good too.
just added a couple salads we had a feast
Now after a busy weekend was a nice day just getting stuff done around here, just the two of us, not too shabby productive and relaxing I might add !
Thanks for stopping in for a peek and hope you enjoyed a wonderful hot day in the shade too.

  2. We do our halibut the "Prince Rupert" way. We dip it in beaten egg, then crushed Saltine crackers and then fry until golden brown. This method seems to seal the moisture and flavor in. A bit of homemade tartar sauce and it is hard to beat.

    1. Thanks for the tip.
That works too, but Suzie likes this so thats what I do, Still very moist and tasty, the big trick is hot oil and don't overcook it,

  3. Love love halibut and we've done it the "Prince Rupert" way aka Port Angeles way. We've also done it in a skillet, in the oven or anyplace else we could cook it.

  6. Fresh halibut can't be beat. Very tasty as long as it is not over cooked.
