Car repair,emissions test on our coach on a cool spring day.

          Up early as usual and caught another beautiful sunrise right out our dining room window. This was the best part of the day.  After the sunrise, just a cool, overcast day temperature only got to 7 c (44f) with a 25 kph (15 mph) cold north wind.

           Had our car at Pettigrew's garage for 8 am new o rings for our fuel injection, done in less than an hour and back home for bit. Headed into Baden, the Wilmot Rec Centre and got a few miles done on the indoor walking track. Then home for lunch.
         After lunch secured our coach and headed down the road 12 miles to Hickson Motors to get an E-test (emissions Test)= Money Grab. For 2 pm, this needs to be done every 2 years in Ontario in order to renew our vehicle license stickers. Yeah a $100. plus $13.00 tax money grab... ok needs to be done though.

        While I did this Suzie took the car to her Dad's to help him with some printing and help him with his excel spreadsheet that he does for the Mennonite Relief sale setup in New Hamburg the last weekend in May every year.
        E-test done, back to camp awesome by 3:45 and all set up. Easy peasy it is. Chat for a while then time to whip up supper. Tonight gonna heat up some pork ribs I picked up on sale yesterday only $5.97 already cooked and in BBQ sauce almost half price and pretty good, we have had them in the past, just heat them up. I like to do them on the BBQ but was only 38f with a NE wind, the oven works great and we can use the heat inside today.

        Right after supper Suzie gave me a hand to load John's pickup and take another load to the burn pile. The branches that I cut up yesterday.   
        Was a good productive day and got things done that needed to be done. Just waiting t=for the weather to warm up a bit more and play outside a bit. The weather Gods have good predictions , lets see if they are right?
       Oh below is a pic of me grilling a chicken on our Weber Q in Marie and Frank's driveway in Aurora monday night. Another shot of me without my hat, feel naked... but at least I have my vest on.

Where are we today ?

Grimsby Ontario Canada

            Well here we are back at the Supper 8 in Grimsby, got phone phone call from Terry Sicard last night. The first not good news, the second was better news. He told us he was putting 2 mechanics on our coach this morning and hopefully the fuel tank can be removed, new fuel pump installed and will be all done by Friday.        

         Had our free breakfast, juice, coffees, cereal, bagels and got a walkabout around the area, few blocks and down to the lake but was kinda foggy so not much to see there. 

         We are not indoor people so a hotel room is not what we enjoy at all. Gotta be out and about, walking or even reading in the shade.

       So we checked out from here 11 am and took a drive to see how things were going. I have researched this and know what they need to do. 

          On the way we stopped at Wendy's across the road and had a couple wraps for lunch and split a small fry, six bucks, not too bad.

           Removing the gas tank is not an easy job. First partially empty 4 rear compartments., Cut 4 holes to access the bolts holding the gas tank in place. Remove the 2 rear hydraulic jackets and cut the welds for the jack stabilizer's. Big job, they don't built these coaches to repair very well. All seems to be going pretty good so far.

        So we left there  and checked back into our room for another night. Its a hot day and we would love to be in our coach under the awning sitting in the shade enjoying our e readers but...

           So get another room and choose to go across the road a do a tour of Forty Creek Distillery. they make some very good Canadian Rye Whiskey, actually one on the best. The link is here is ya like. And we have never toured a distillery before. Have you? Very interesting tour about 90 minutes in all. Our tour guide was great with lots of interesting information and stories.

         Tour is done and we each get 3 samples, they are tiny but thats ok this is spirits and Suzie and I can share. So we sampled and choose two very interesting tastes that we both liked. Could have bought more but, this is Canada very expensive stuff.

          Back to our room by 3;30 walkabout check out the exercise room and a dip in the pool and hot tub, why not its here and not busy ?

        Now time for supper and no Weber Q ( we miss that already). But the Super store around the corner. So grabbed  1/2 BBQ' chicken and salad. Less then ten dollars and was excellent!

      So there thats what we did, move out of our room check the RV and move back in for another night. Either our coach is ready tomorrow or not. Will see what happens then. This is a 3 day long weekend so plans are up in the air, but no matter what the weekend will happen and we will enjoy it. Last minute note my one hearing aid died yesterday on top of everything else, so needs to be sent out for repairs (next week). So plans are on hold for a while yet.

Fifty Point Conservation area Grimsby Ontario

         We choose to stay here in Grimsby for the night only 20 minutes from the dealer that we want to be at by 7:30 in the morning. Full hookups, here, fill some fresh water drain our tanks and have some nice long hot showers. For the link to Fifty Point Conservation area you can  click HERE   if ya like. 
        Last night our internet was too slow to upload my pics so got them done early this morning. 
        If your missed the pictures from yesterday's posting you can click here, we had a wonderful tour along the north shore of Lake Erie. Totalling about 300 miles between yesterday and this morning using up most of our fuel that was required for the repair and had too much fun doing it as well.
        This morning we had coffees and chatted with Chris and Bill for quite a while then hit the road around 10 am. Thanks guys for your hospitality and it was a great visit. So nice to catch up again.
         Heading to 50 Point in Grimsby was a nice back country drive only 73 miles. We checked in and set up by noon. Had a bite for lunch and I took a drive in the car to Sicard's  to reconfirm our check in time tomorrow for the service. In the morning we can have the coach there before  8 am and they will take it in right away. They recommended a hotel where we will get a good discount as well.

       Love the easy pace of these back roads, so relaxing.

        Here we are this the place for tonight.

         Now while driving the car to Sicards the service engine light comes on! Oh crap what else can go wrong? I drove and thought about it for a while. Hmm Had that problem a few years ago so I tried the fix I did then. Remove the gas cap, cleaned it and put it back on ! Hey light went out, yahoo we do'in good!

        Back home its real hot in the coach (90f) and seeing as we have power gonna fire up or A/C . Now guess what?  The thermostat does not respond, nothing , Nada, hmm !!!  Thinks about it for a while. Oh yeah the memory comes back. Had the same issue a few years ago to. So I remove the controller, take it apart and spray with Electronic cleaner, all the buttons and switches. Let it dry while I had my shower, put it back together and whoopee everything works again! Both a/c's and the furnace, we doing good.

           Now I can relax and read outside for a while with Suzie in the shade, such a perfect hot summer day, love it!

       Now time for supper, thawed out a couple cod fillets and Suzie would like them pan fried in Fish Crisp, so that what I do. Added  to a salad and we good to go.

         After supper took the garbage to that dumpster and walked along the pond behind the bush here. Wonderful area here except for the noise from the highway when we outside.

      Now along the pond noticed a wonderful sunset almost done, managed to get a pretty decent pic of it too.

       Just more enjoying a wonderful evening outside until almost 9 pm, time to call it a night soon.

       We keeping on top of Murphy can't let him get to us can we?

Where are we today ?

Southern Ontario

      We had thought we made an appointment to get our coach repaired  on Tuesday morning to have our in tank fuel pump replaced and they asked us to make sure there is not much gas in the tank. Trying to get it out over the weekend to no avail so we decided to take a tour today. Anyone who owns an Rv knows that you can use up a lot of fuel in a short period of time.
       So today we packed things up and ready to hit the road, just waiting for the dealer to open at 9 am to make sure they can plug in our coach to keep the fridge operating , its kinda full. And could be in the shop a couple days. Then we find out our appointment is for Wednesday! Oops somebody goofed,  But we are secured and anxious to hit the road. So lets go.

        Roads we travelled many years ago when we were working. Put on 206 miles and enjoyed every minute of it. Because we had an extra day decided to stop by and visit friends Christine and Bill. Suzie and Chris grew up together and its been a while.

       Next stop Port Burwell, we have spent many summer weekends here at the park and on the beach, love this quiet area.

        Now from here we decided to stop and visit Chris and Bill more nice back roads passing along the fields of tobacco and ginseng

        Then finally at Chris and Bill's place. Wow , when we saw it over a year ago it was a forest and an old falling down farm house. They sure have been busy.

      We chatted and caught up then they cooked up an awesome meal. Melt in you mouth steak,  fresh dug potatoes and onion, along with tomatoes and cucumbers right from the garden , does not get any fresher or tastier than that.

       So nice to get out and tour as well as stop and visit friends too.

       Was an awesome day moving on down the road tomorrow.
