Another relaxing day then saw this 1949 Ford and brought back so many memories!

Where are we today ?
Another wonderful day here here, not much to report. The usual stuff, just enjoying this wonder weather we are having. Overnight rains until about 9 am. Walkabouts, chat with people, pick up a few supplies,  a bite for lunch and enjoy our e-readers for a while. Work out at the Fitness centre, relax in the hot tub, shower, read some more then "Happy Hour " at Emile and Moniques" trailer today.
There was 8 of us Emile, Monique, George, Rose. Ron, Loree, Suzie and me. These are fun social hours, Discuss things, compare notes, tell stories and make plans from about 4-5 pm then we head our separate ways have supper or whatever.
a nice social hour we had
even Freddy was there,
Suzie got her Doggie fix!
Now home for supper, I whipped up a salad. prepped a 1/4 Acorn Squash for each of us with pure maple syrup and a pork Tenderloin  for the Weber Q.
Acorn squash
On the grill about 20 minutes and tenderloin is 145f Internal temp and the squash is perfect. Preheat and cook low and slow.
Sure did the trick tonight
After supper outside went for a bit of a walkabout, noticed this 1949 Ford convertible down by the clubhouse (1949 the year I was born). Boy do I have memories of that car ! Never owned one but a buddy in high school (in Scarborough Ontario Canada, suburb of Toronto) had one that looked just like this, flat black paint, pipes on the side and loud! I was 16 at the time and had my 1956 Ford it was  flat black too, before I finished the body work an paint job. He always had the top down, pipes on the side open and girls hanging out the back seat.  It was a fun time back then, oh the memories. Drag races on the streets and the trouble we could have gotten into. He never beat me though. But we were lucky never did get caught and I have survived! Not sure what he is doing, we lost touch right after high school, I got married and moved away.
Now that just made my day perfect ! It was good before but even better now.
And I even got to talk to the fellow that owned it for a bit, Much younger than me but the car still has the original Flat head V/8  and 3 speed transmission (3 on the tree) and no power steering or brakes. Amazing!
Thanks for stopping by and really hope you had a great day too.

  2. Nice old Ford. Those cars were made to customize with those lake pipes and spotlights.

  3. That old Ford got your youth juices working again. Reminiscing about your misspent youth is something that is fun to do, isn't it?

  4. My aunt had a 49 Ford hardtop, drove with her many a mile. I've seen quite a few 49 Fords over the years, that must hve been a well put together car model. Thanks for the memories! ;c)

  5. The deal with those old cars is that they are worth more now than they were new. However, with all the add-ons over the years, they are missing a lot too.
