Where are we today ?
Rock Glen Resort Arkona Ontario
Hey our Internet is working perfect today!
Well if you are an rv'er and blog follower you probably already know the Bayfield Bunch and thats where we are headed. Go visit these guys, who we met back in January 2012 in southern Arizona.
Cooler weather and not much sunshine but we have a nice road trip planned for today so no problem. Nice country drive through Grand Bend north on highway 21 to Bayfield Ontario, almost exactly a one hour drive = perfect and no traffic, love it.

We were invited to visit Al, Kelly and Pheebs and do some computer playing with the Google maps. So any excuse for a visit with fellow bloggers is good enough for us.
We found their place first time, not like Arizona where we were totally way off course. What an amazing place they have here in the bush. Wonderful landscaping and and perfect house love the setting, lots of privacy too.
First thing we did there was check out their Big EEE Commander. What a beautiful Motorhome! They sure got themselves a really good deal there on this coach, just like new condition. We got the complete tour and the Pheebs is such an amazing girl, just loves everybody. Even their white Sunfire is like a brand new car it was a deal not to be turned down too.

we got the whole tour |

Suzie and Pheebs hit it off right away |

Computing done then suddenly Kelly is off to whip up a tasty lunch on the Weber Q and I was so excited that I forgot to take a picture of her cooking. Some very tasty honey garlic sausage from the Zehr's Mennonite Market just south of town, Bush's Bean's with extra tasty added ingredients, yummy coleslaw and an amazing homemade blueberry custard pie (with ice cream) from the same market. Did we have a feast! No need for supper tonight thats for sure.

The conversation never stopped |

Blueberry custard pie, oh soo good |
Before we knew it the day had slipped away, its about 2:30 and time for us to head back home. Say our goodbyes, see ya later on down the road, hopefully in the southwest this coming winter. We had an "Awesome" visit and a very tasty lunch, thanks so much for this great get together and getting to know each other even more.
On the road south we had to drive around a bit of the Bayfield Harbour, catch a few shots of some boats here, its been a few years since we have been in the area.
Down the main street of Bayfeild with all the touristy shops, and cafe's a very busy place for a Wednesday afternoon.

overlooking lake Huron, quite windy |
Then we stopped at Zehr's Country market to check out all the fresh baked pies and sausage and meats they had everything looks so good.
On the way south we passed this oversize load, part of a tower for one of the many wind generators they are erecting in this area.
Back home, sun shining and we enjoyed reading for a while outside with the warmer air than earlier today. A fellow camper Richard stopped by to give some of the excess tomatoes from his garden at the farm, much appreciated and so tasty!

Jim and Judy stopped in for a chat while we were outside for a while, then soon too dark to read so inside we are for the night.

ReplyDeleteYou had one of my favorite suppers.....a tomato sandwich!
Was a real great day, southwest is the place to be in the winter for sure, hope to meet up with you.
DeleteTomato sandwiches are at the top of my list too. Glad your internet is back and cooperating. Looks like more fun times with fellow bloggers.
ReplyDeleteFun time and garden fresh tomatoes, gotta love it.
DeleteA very special day, very nice of you to teach Kelly how to put maps on the blog. I'd love to do that, too. Do you make house calls?
ReplyDeleteLove tomato sandwiches, but I have to sneak a slice of cheese on mine.
House calls no problem thats what we did yesterday, if you are about an hour away.
DeleteCheese slice too makes it even better!
Jim would have loved to join you for those tomato sandwiches. We haven't had real good luck with tomatoes this year. Fun visit with Al, Kelly and Pheebs.
ReplyDeleteIt was a bonus to get these from our Rv neighbors and he says he will bring more, so gotta eat them up!
DeleteNice to see your pictures of our visit.... I'm glad you got a picture of the pie. Al must have forgot..... I really did mean to send some home with you. . Thanks for the map design help, it helped clarify the process.
