A very busy day.. Zurich Bean fest, Fish fry and a dance.

Where are we today ?
Last night after posting we were invited to join a great campfire with Pat and Bill (fellow bloggers and friends. Perfect night for is fun just chatting around the campfire, their friend Brenda was there as well as their dog Clemson.
love a campfire
This morning after 9am we headed off to Zurich Ontario to check out the Zurich Bean Festival and great outdoor event with street vendors, yards sales, food vendors, live music and  a great atmosphere on a perfect sunny summer saturday. And in the town park a car show, this year over 500 cars, and lots of great music from the loud speakers all over the park.

Now supper done back home to relax for a bit and chat with the neighbors, then to the dance outside by the clubhouse with a live band at 8 o'clock. The Persuaders were playing and they are pretty good, music from the 50's and 60's, Rock and roll and a bit of country and line dancing. We took our lawn chairs and enjoyed a fun evening for a couple hours, great tunes, chat with friends and even gotta few dances in too. Really nice with the free entertainment right here in our park.

That was it for us at the end of the second set (after 10, past our bedtime), time for us to head back home, finish this posting and call it a night, we did have a busy day and too much fun.
Thanks for coming by again, our day was awesome and hope yours was too.

  1. You two just have way too much fun! On your walks around the park check out our friends Bob & Joan in their 08 Georgie Boy. They are new full timers and new ROD members. Not sure where they are parked but I'm sure they would appreciate a chance to meet and chat with you. Have a wonderful day! Ron & Sharon

  4. Pheebs & I in our Saturday morning travels blundered into Zurich forgetting about the Bean Fest. Soon as I saw the cars lining the highway east of town I made an immediate U-turn & hightailed it out of there back onto the nearby quiet country roads. Whooaaa, close call for us guys:))

    1. We got there early enough to park real close and not too busy until we were leaving town. WE don't much enjoy the crowds so try to go early enough to avoid them. The cruise cars were fun though.

  9. Hey George, are you interested in giving some pros and cons for the Kobo Vs the iPad mini or just individually! I have a reg iPad and have a couple of books on it but find it heavy to hold and read while lying down. Haven't gotten into downloading much for books because of that. Enjoy checking in on you guys each day!

    1. I like the Kobo Aura for a few reasons. It is small and light weight, can read in the direct sun with no glare, and has a light for reading at night, great for reading in bed, can change the fonts and sizes, line spacing and margins. Has wifi, built in dictionary when I run into words I don't know. And battery good for 70 hours.
I pad mini short battery life, glare in the sun and is heavier. Mind you the I pad can do lots more stuff but thats what I have a laptop for.

  10. Well! I would say that is a bit different from your usually quiet days of reading, cooking, and hanging out having simple do nothing fun. Would take me a few days to recuperate!

  12. Seemed like they had almost everything but beans at that festival. Did they provide complimentary servings of Beano? ;c)

    1. No Beano but the big thing that people lined up for was a Pork chop and bean meal for $10.00 all day long, we just bought a hot dog at one vendor and a bowl of beans to share at another worked for us. Total cost $6.50 nice light snack for lunch.
