Perfect hot and sunny Labor Day weekend!

Where are we today ?
Quite warm last night, but with windows open and fantastic fan running we got a pretty decent sleep. Up by 6 am, about 22c (73F) and humid, gonna be a hot day. No problem we have things to do. Before 10 am headed into Kitchener and continued the search for a twin bed for Ma. Found a good one at a good price and one she liked so got that taken care of, will pick it up this week.  It is hot in the city but  the A/C in our car kept us cool.
Helped her organized a few things and back home before 4 o'clock. Now to relax a few minutes , enjoy a nice warm afternoon in the shade with a refreshing breeze.
so peaceful here love it
Then time to fire up our Weber Q, grill a couple Apple Cinnamon Sausage from Swiss Sausage in Hermann Missouri, love those sausages ! Added to a tasty salad and we are good to go.
so tasty
did the trick
After our feast we relaxed and enjoyed another very warm evening outside, chat and read a while more. Then the dogs came for a visit, Buddy and Molly. Suzie got her doggie fix and a run out back too.
Molly and Buddy here for a visit
Before we know it getting pretty dark and cooling down a bit, time to call it a night.
Thanks for the visit and hope you are enjoying your Labor Day week end too. Keep safe.

More Ma stuff and getting things done.

Where are we today ?
Got a few errands done today, working on getting Ma all setup. Shortly after 10 am headed into Waterloo, to check things out with her and help her put together a few things. A bite for lunch then headed out looking for a few items that need to be purchased. And the best way for her was to see them in person. So after 3-4 hours wandering about from store to store we called it a day. Lots of options and ideas.
While we were gone George had been here to pump out our sewage tanks, he just happened to be in town today and suited us fine.
Time for us to head home and begin whipping up supper. Tonight a couple tasty salmon fillets and green salad that we have been craving for a few days.
our salmon fillets done perfectly
tasty salad with EVOO and balsamic vinegar
That was it for a busy day getting things done. We will relax a while with our readers and research a bit more, tomorrow is another day.
Thanks again for the visit, looks like we will be here a while for the transition, but we do have a nice quiet spot.

Cooler weather and visit with Ma, twice in one day too.

Where are we today ?
Pretty cool this morning 10c (50F) at 6 am but when the sun came up a bit warmer about 21c(72F) but much nicer in the sun. After some walkabouts etc, we headed into Waterloo for a few errands. Stopped by Ma's and trimmed a couple trees in her yard and we headed out with her to check out a few retirement places.
Had a great day then headed back home to putter around a bit more and prep supper. Ma coming here for a visit and we gonna grill a couple pork tenderloins on our Weber Q, creamy mashed taters, gravy and peas. Sure did the trick and we had some fresh raspberries for desert too. Even had some tasty leftovers for her and us too.
Ma and Suzie relaxing outside
done perfect on the Weber Q, low and slow 145f internal temp
sure did the trick, so tender
After supper Ma heads back to Waterloo, before it gets to late, (she doing pretty good at 87 years young), then we head outside to enjoy some still nice weather. An Ultralight circling overhead making lotsa noise pretty close to us too.
Post the blog enjoy the fresh air and read a while before calling it a day. Where did it go?
Hey thanks for tagging along for the day it was fun.

Hey, we finally met another Rv blogger that stay so close by in the summer.

Where are we today ?
Much cooler last night even greater for sleeping. Just the windows were not open as wide. Up nice and early, a bit of a walkabout, stop by the garage to check the local gossip then do the RV dealer down the road and pickup another couple LED light bulbs. Replace one defective one and another brighter one for my seating spot.
A quick trip to New Hamburg to give the vampires gallons of blood (maybe a thimble full) for some more blood work, pick up a few groceries and stuff then back to home relax for a bit.
Then at 2:30 we  had visitors, a couple we have been trying to meet for about three years. They are full-time Rv'ers as we are and spend their summers in Woodstock only about 20 minutes away. We have been following each others blogs but just a have not been able to get together. This is such a busy lifestyle that we lead always something to do. John and Judy Hollinger of Rvlife on wheels. Such a supper couple, it's like meeting old friends that we have never met. Really hard to explain unless you have done it.
They found us no problem here at "Camp Awesome" and we met face to face! Real people that belong to that blog. And what a super couple they are. As usual with Rv'ers conversations just flows, and before we know it over 2 hours had slipped on by and they had to head back home, where does the time go? We took the pictures just to prove it too, think our picture might be on their blog, click HERE to see it. Hope we can meet up again sometime soon, never know for sure where our travels will take us.
Judy and John
here's the picture they took of us,
stoled it from their blog, thanks John
After they left we read for a bit, then fired up our Weber Q 100 , grilled a couple Turkey Burgers with spinach and cranberries. Boy were they ever good! Added to a tasty salad and sure did the trick.
yummy Turkey burgers
See how our days just fly on by, never a minute to spare and always busy.
Glad you could drop by and meet John and Judy too, see they are real people.

Service on our coach and have a temporary (maybe permanet) fix for our Generator.

Where are we today ?
Can see the nice sunrise with our awning up
First thing this morning we secure our coach and were at Pettigrew's garage for 7:45. Dale is replacing a vacuum hose on the coach engine and also replacing as much gas line for our generator that he can get at. Removed the left rear duals to get access and installed 10 feet of new gas line right to the top of the gas tank. Also installed a new gas filter for the coach engine.
Every thing back together had to pressurized the fuel tank to get the genny to fire up. Sounds good! Ran for about 3 minutes and quit, ran out of gas. Two more times we did this and the same result. Solution remove the gas tank. Well that sounds pretty easy. But after investigation that involves removing our hydraulic levelling jacks, that just happen to have supports welded to the chassis. Gonna be a very big job! Not to mention very expensive.
So a solution thats works quite well but not as convenient, I picked up a 2 and 1/2 gallon gas can filled with gas and put the gas line in there. Genny fired up and ran for more than 30 minute under load no problem at all. Shut it down, now it will work when we need it an save more than a thousand dollars in labor that may or may not resolve the issues.
So after 6 hours at Pettigrew's back to "Camp Awesome" and set up shortly after 2 pm. Nice and sunny afternoon so finished mowing the lawn about 40 minutes. The mower ran great, it has a new battery this spring, so the charging system on the mower seems to be malfunctioning. Some day John may take a look at it but for now I can make it work.
Relax a bit with our e readers and put together a couple chicken kabobs ( I marinated some chicken breast for a while) for supper with another tasty salad. Really enjoying these salads more than every before.
low and slow as usual done perfect on our Q
Another fine day that was pretty productive with wonderful sunny weather  though a bit cooler than we like. Can't help it fall is in the air and it will get much cooler yet before we hit warmer temps.
Thanks for the peek again and really hope you had an awesome day too.

Fixing, mowing, swimming and company that brought supper to cook.

Where are we today ?
Just hanging out here and enjoying this hot humid weather. No a/c but we have shade and a nice breeze works for us. Bonus too is the wonderful pool right here.
Last night when Suzie finished the dishes our florescent light over the kitchen sink quit. So this morning I did some testing and found a loose wire in the circuit board, sometimes work and sometimes not. I could probably fix it but ran down the road to the rv place and they had a new LED fixture there at a decent price. So just picked it up and installed the new one. I was going to replace it this winter anyway, so for the small price difference we just did it now. The LED bulbs are much more efficient anyway, great for dry camping.
old one on the left
really liking the new fixture
That chore done, a bite for lunch and a run to the store. Now gonna mow a bit more lawn.
in the middle look to the back of the yard, big tree back there
looking to the front we are under the big tree there
All was going good for an hour then the mower died! Battery dead. Go get the car gave it a boost and parked it in the shed hooked to the battery charger. Only about 20 minutes to finish, maybe tomorrow.
It quit just in time cause we wanted to have a dip in to pool. A perfect hot humid day for a refreshing swim.
Then Suzie's mom and dad coming by with some ribs, potatoes and carrots for supper, all I have to do was cook them. So wrap the ribs in foil with sauerkraurt on the grill for an hour or so.
ribs in foil
Then onto the grill and slather with some BBQ sauce, whip up the taters and cooked carrots we had a very nice tasty supper.
Did the trick and some fresh local Blueberries with whipped cream to finish things off.
A nice visit with her Mom and Dad, tasty supper then time to relax a bit with our e-books enjoy an wonderful mild evening.
Thanks again for stopping in for a peek, hope your enjoyed this heat wave as much as we did.

Time to relocate, scratch the hitch-itch.

Where are we today ?
We are on the move today, been here 2 weeks and have been very busy, time to move on down the road, back to "Camp Awesome" in Plattsville. So peaceful, so quiet, relaxing, nobody here just the two of us. Well we do see hour host occasionally but that is nice and very infrequent.
On the road by 10 am after puttering around for a while and arrived and set up here by noon. Had a bite to eat, chat with Suzie for a bit, checked with Dale at the Garage about some service on our coach then decided to mow some lawn, we take the coach in Wednesday Morning. The lawn was ready for me to mow and the day was wonderfully hot and sunny.
So just hopped on the mower for about 90 minutes and got almost 1/2 of the 5 acres mowed. Call it quits for the day just cause the pool was calling me. So nice to cool down with a dip in the pool, get refreshed then enjoy some reading in the shade with Suzie, temps in the mid 80'sf today.
love the pool here
our campsite is to die for
 reading spot and no neighbors
Now Suzie says its time for supper so I fired up our Weber Q Grilled a nice Basa fillet that we split and added to a tasty salad, sure hit the spot again.
Basa fillet of the grill with Old Bay
 spice and fresh lemon slices
very tasty, love our fish
Supper done, outside to relax, post our Blog and enjoy our e readers. Really enjoy these things much more than we thought. Does it get much better than this? Think not.
Thanks again for stopping by and enjoying another great summer day with us.

Weekend winding down and we can relax once again.

Where are we today ?
Later night than usual for us last night, but still got a great sleep up later than usual 6.00 am almost unheard of for me. But we had a very busy day all packed into one day and it was fantastic.
These two couples are checking out this morning
this is a Georgetown not a Georgie Boy
This morning walkabouts looking for friends of Sharon and Ron's that are supposed to be here in a Georgie Boy motorhome. Walked the whole park and could not find it BUT there is a Georgetown parked right beside us. So checked them out and it is their friends. Now after chatting for a while with Bob I find out that he was a custodian at the public school our grandson went to and he knew him by name! Now not only that he went for lunch at the restaurant in town that is Grandmother owned (my x wife from many years ago). Now is that not a small world. Then to add to that, he worked for the same school board that our friends Pat and Bill still work at and are camped almost right behind them! Bill and Pat were at the dance last night with us and are heading our this morning. I stole this picture below from Bills Blog of their time here at Rock Glen resort. Thanks Bill and Pat it was a great weekend and we had a fun time together, hope to see you again soon.
Suzie and I on the dance floor saturday night
First time in a long time that we did not got to the Pinery Flea Market in Grand Bend on a Sunday morning, no need to do a book exchange as we have all we need on our e readers.
Then a while later a lot of campers are packing up and heading out after the weekend making for a very quiet afternoon. So now we are having a very peaceful day. Reading, get laundry done, check tires, and even gave myself a haircut (Suzie does the final trimming).
these people are packing up
       A nice peaceful relaxing afternoon.
enjoying our books
Then soon time to fire up our Weber Q grill a couple Garlic Turkey sausage, sweet peppers and fresh tomatoes with parmesan cheese, add that to a tossed salad, sauerkraut and we are good to go.
tasty it was
After supper just enjoy our books outside and relax before we hit the road in the morning, back to Plattsville for a week or so. Gotta keep moving the itch is attacking us again!
We had a busy weekend so nice that you could drop on by.
