Where are we today ?
After a great travel day yesterday and Father's Day visiting with two of my children, 3 grands, a cousin and her husband we a great nights sleep. Then this morning we visited a bit more and slowly made our way out of their driveway. Over to the plaza around the corner to hook up our car and noticed this interesting, homemade truck camper in the parking lot.

They have things to do and so do we. Not moving far just about 99 kms (60 miles) to Kawartha Downs Race track and slot machines. A leisurely back country drive thru rolling hills no hurry.
99 kms today |
nice country drive |
this be the place |
quickly set up, away from the casino |
so peaceful here |
sure hit the spot |
Bonus, tomorrow morning we get a free continental breakfast AND another free $5.00 slot play each. Gotta love these deals. Free parking for the night, free slot play and a free breakfast. And will leave here with $32.90 in our pockets, maybe more!
Thanks for stopping in again hope you are having as much fun as us. Tomorrow afternoon heading to our Coast to Coast home Park for two weeks of free camping in cottage country. Not too far from here, of course we will meet up with a few more friends there too.
Still working on a short posting from the wedding Saturday night (now that we have good internet again), lots pics to sort through.

Summer in Ontario....quier and relaxed and good weather. Great!
ReplyDeleteYes Peter we lovin' it!
DeleteWow...you two hit the jackpot with that casino. Paul loves when they throw Ina free breakfast.
ReplyDeleteWe enjoy most Casinos, especially the free camping, free money and free food. Sure is nice when we get actually paid to camp here,
DeleteI enjoy Casino Camping. There is one in New Mexico that has a full hookup RV park that they charge $10 for but then they give you a $10 voucher for gas at their gas station. When we were there they also had a two for one deal on in their restaurant. There is always something they give you that makes your stay painless.
ReplyDeleteThey are fun for sure as long as you don't get carried away gamblng.
DeleteI've stayed at a couple of casino lots - I'm not interested in gambling; don't even do the slots - although a 2 cent machine would be just about my speed. I've tried to give the casino some business - like eating breakfast in their coffee shop, or such - in return for a free, or almost free site. I love reading about Canada, especially in the warmer months and am sorry I haven't made it there in Floribunda - yet. You two have fun wherever you are! Belated Happy Father's Day, George.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary-Pat we don't do much in Casinos but with a new players card they usually give you free slot play so we do take advantage of that and if we win great, if not we had fun.
DeleteCanada is nice in the summer, not so much in the winter though.
That's big doings! I always loose money...
ReplyDeleteTo win some money is always nice, does not always happen that way though.
DeleteI'm mostly surprised that we have "Casino Camping". Figured there would be some hidden by-law or something that would preclude staying for the night.
ReplyDeletePenny slots are about my speed, since I'm rarely "up".
They are open 24 hours so vehicles are parked there all night long.
DeleteThe penny slots work for us too.
Sounds like stopping at the casino was a great deal, especially if you won a little. When I was a kid, our family spent a week or so fishing on the lakes around Lakefield and I can remember that we went through Peterborough,
ReplyDeleteSuch great fishing in the all the lakes around Lakefield about 15 minutes from our campground.
DeleteLike I said yesterday, it pays to travel :) Happy to hear you are having fun.
ReplyDeleteIt sure does pay to have this much fun.
