Where are we today ?
Here we are once again at Rock Glen Resort. Enjoying the wonderful warm weather and peace and quiet here. No party people here, just a few families and lotsa nice people, one of the many benefits of membership camping..
Early morning walkabouts enjoying the quiet, hot day we are going to have. On Suzie's walkabout while I was shopping she caught a nice picture of the two Goose families each with 5 Goose puppies. Boy are they ever growing fast from about a week and half ago.

they were by the pond later this morning |
|
saw our neighbor drive by again with his dog in the trailer, he loves to travel |
This morning I made small pot of chicken noodle soup from the carcass of our grilled chicken we had last night. I hate to waste it and we had enough to each have a bowl for lunch today, sure hit the spot
|
love homemade soup |
While I was making the soup I whipped up another pasta salad for Suzie's Stere family reunion tomorrow. This batch made with gluten free pasta especially for her brother and anyone else who may be that way inclined. we enjoy it too, you would never know the difference. I have posted the recipe before and is on my recipe blog or you can click
HERE for the link. It is refreshing and great for summer time pot lucks. No eggs or mayonnaise to spoil.

yummy |
A few more walkabouts and work out in the gym for a bit then we can enjoy our books for a while in the shade with a nice light breeze. Perfect for a hot summer day. Temps to around 90f (32c) here, loving it. Some people stopped by for a short chat then over to visit friends Emile and Monique again for relaxing Happy hour, then time to fire up our Weber Q. Tonight gonna grille a couple Alaskan Pollock fillets and some fresh local asparagus I picked up at the corner store today.

quick and easy |
Now we added that to a nice salad mixed with Kale and a couple strawberries we had a very filling tasty supper.
|
so yummy |
|
a pretty nice sunset too |
After supper and a walkabout we continued to enjoy our books on a perfect evening, until 9 pm it got too dark outside but still 70f (21c). Now how can we have much better weather than this? And a bonus in this part of Ontario no mosquitoes and no black flies, yep we sure love it here. Later sunsets now so later postings, don't want to miss enjoying some outside fresh air.
There ya go thats all we did today just enjoy the peace a quiet here with near perfect weather. Tomorrow we busy doing lotsa stuff come back and see what we did with another fun day.
Glad you could drop on by for a peek again and hope your Saturday was a wonderful as ours.

I'll be glad to move on to a quieter park. Nobody in this park thinks the speed limit applies to them. And quiet hours mean absolutely nothing. But tomorrow we move so hopefully the next place will be better. The weather is perfect. Low 80's. Glad you're enjoying your books - but they can't be as good as the meals you fix.
ReplyDeleteThe books are wonderful and the food, pretty tasty too.
DeleteNo skeeters or black flies? You must have found heaven on earth! :c)
ReplyDeleteThat's another reason we enjoy it here.
DeleteHow nice it is to enjoy a quiet park on a perfect weather day.
ReplyDeleteYes we love it here, July and August a lot more families here but still pretty quiet.
DeleteHAHAHAHA....I love the dog in the trailer. How cute.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recipe for the summer salad. I am always looking for great new recipes.
Your welcome, it is quite nice.
DeleteTheir dog travels with them evenrywhere.
I love little pieces of fruit in my green salad. I use strawberries, blue berries and even oranges at times. Enjoy the perfect days and the good thing is there are probably many more ahead of you since summer hasn't quite arrived.
ReplyDeleteGonna be wonderful long hot summer is my prediction.
DeleteThat's some wonderful weather you are having! Thanks for the pasta recipe...pasta just seems to go with everything.
ReplyDeleteHave fun at the reunion!
It has been a great weather so far and we are really enjoying it.
DeleteI am sure you will enjoy the salad.
Food always looks great... but I shed a wistful tear when you said no black flies nor mosquitoes.....
ReplyDeleteThis particular area does not seem to have any of those bugs, another reason we love it here.
DeleteLucky you re the mosquitoes. When we moved here 11 years ago we had none and slowly over the years they have appeared. This year they are horrid, biting at noon in the sun. Colin got bit 4 times while in the golf cart taking the garbage out. Not normal.
ReplyDeleteOver 40 years coming into this area and have never had any problems, unless you are near a swamp out heavy bush. Up north is a different story though.
DeleteNo mosquitoes or black flies? If you say you don't have snakes… I'm moving to Canada! beautiful sunset and place and food .. gonna try your recipe...
ReplyDeletelove the dog trailer... hahaaa
There is areas with those bugs just not around here, and have never seen any snakes, thats not saying there is none here.
DeleteAm sure you will like that salad. very refreshing.
