Met some fellow local Rv'er's, enjoyed a wonderful lunch, came out ahead at the casino, and another very warm day.

Where are we today ?

Another wonderful night's sleep windows open and only down to 55 f overnight. As usual up nice and early waiting for daylight then a nice walkabout the park and by the waterfront  about 1 mile and half.Forecast today was cloudy and alight wind 8 mph and did get up to 77f this afternoon. We choose this route home for the evelation and warmer temps. Lower elevation equals warmer temperatures and we are at 774 ft about sea level here.
We had gotten a message from RVillage a social website for Rver's that we joined back in March of 2014. A busy and interesting network for all kinds of RV information. From a couple, David and Cheryl, that are part time rv'ers and happen have a house here in Grove OK. They welcomed us to the area and would like to meet us. They suggested meeting for lunch at the New Cherokee Casino just down the road maybe 1/2 a mile from us. Sounds wonderful so we set Sunday lunch and met them there, today was the day at a pre arranged spot by the restaurant. Meeting fellow rv'ers is always fun we all have so much in common even if we had different lives before. We all enjoy the good life.
Cherokee Casino
We snagged a table and got to know each other over a 2 hour lunch. What a super couple. Had a few laughs and a pretty good lunch as well. They all had the blue plate specials, a hot beef, gravy with mashed and veggies but my choice I think was the better one Catfish, fries, excellent hush puppies(that I don't usually like) and tasty coleslaw.
excellent catfish
the hot beef, but not off the roast
Cheryl and David
what a super couple
Then eventually we parted company and hope to meet up again on down the road in our travels. While we were here got a players card card just because that's what you do with a new casino. Good deal . As new members we each get $10.00 free slot play. So heck why not?  We found  a couple of penny machines and tried our luck after about 45 minutes of fun, we ended up leaving there with $25.00 cash in our pockets spending none of our money, This paid for our lunch and we were still ahead by 10 bucks. Now that was a deal for sure and we got a free casino fix as well.
Home by 2 pm and still quite nice and warm out side. Chairs out to read, a few walkabouts and enjoy this 77 f  afternoon until about 6 pm when it cooled down to 72. Time to head inside anyway, the cloudy skies and the breeze was staring to feel chilling.
We have been in the area quite a few times over the years and visited some places we have enjoyed, no need to go back quite yet. One of our Favourites  is Har-Ber Village. So I looked up one of old postings to revisit. Have been there 3 times.
Back in November 2013 when we were here visited Har-Ber Village what a fun day it was and great place to check out. For that posting Click Here  .
What a fun day and still enjoying this excellent weather for a few days yet.
Soon time for tonights supper, and after that wonderful filling lunch we will share some popcorn and an apple. Works for us.
Thanks for dropping on by for a visit. Hope y'all had a great day as well.

Where have we been this Winter

Won money at the Parhump Casino last week and we spent it here in Laughlin.

Where are we today

Only 55f this morning mostly overcast and very windy today (the wind is back here) No awning type of day with winds 25 mph plus. Did get some nice early morning walkabouts in the refreshing morning air. Chatted with a few people and putter around most of the morning it did get up to 82f today though.
Then at 11:30 we hopped in the car and went across the river to the Riverside Casino in Laughlin Nevada. Got Suzie a players card and we went for the lunch buffet, 2 for one deal with the new players card. So for the both of us only $10.20. And that was a really great buffet. Wonderful salads and great fresh hot food selections, beef, chicken, scallops, Mexican, cold cuts, lots of deserts and soft ice cream more food then we could even sample. Even though very busy here no lineups other than purchasing our tickets as they open at 11:30 am ( Nevada time) and we are on Arizona time, less than a mile away.
We got a perfect window table in a quiet corner overlooking the Colorado river. Perfect.
our table
from our table , water taxis
back and forth across the river
sampled a bit of salad
this was lunch....
next plate, rice, veggies, chicken beef,
scallops, pork, ribs and liver
this was supper....
and a river cruise going by too
What a feast we had, no more meals today that's for sure, but it's only 1:30 so we have the rest of the day to wear it off.
After lunch we tried our hand at the penny slots $5.00 each to see if we could win some free slot play or maybe even some cash.  We did get our slot machine fix in and spent no more money. But heck this was was the $20.00 US that Suzie won at the casino in Parhump last week, so really all this food and fun was free!
Back home for some walkabouts, and reading, not too hot with the overcast sky and wind. Then at 3:30 over to Visit our friends Oscar, Judy, their daughter Lori, SIL Roland and of course Schatz.
Schatzi
It was a wonderful get together as their 1st day back here in the park and our last day, we are heading on out in the morning. Always fun to chat with friends in the afternoon for a bit then back home to do our thing.
We plan to see then again
in southern California
next year
just as we got home the Sun was
setting 5;15 across the river
a few minutes later a plane lands at the
airport across the street
only a few during the day
so not too bad
a little later an even nicer sunset
2 in one night
the lighted spa and pool is very tempting
 at night
Still outside in shorts at 7:30 and still 76f but time to head in for the night.
Oh and supper tonight we had popcorn and shared an apple.
What a nice relaxing way to wind up our fun week here, but gonna be getting cooler here so time to slowly make our way further south again. On the road in the morning.
Thanks for dropping on by and enjoying our day with us, hope yours was wonderful too.

Hey just another wonderful day here gonna be warm, humid and some rain. After a nice walkabout, we packing up and heading on the road. And said see-ya later to a few friends as well. Got that all done before the rain started was wonderful! Pulled out by 10 am, no rush only about a 2 hour drive today. And as usual playing our CD of Willie Nelson. "On the Road Again".
Heading to Casino Rama near Orillia today. A nice country drive, but most of it was raining, not a problem we not in a hurry and not much traffic.
Enjoy the back country roads
After cruising through Bobcaygeon  in the rain we went through Fenlon Falls another nice small town on the Trent Severn Waterway with another lift lock. We did not stop because of the heavy rain but is another nice place to enjoy the locks.
down town Fenlon Falls
the lift lock is there, not a good shot though
carried on down the road and a bit of sunshine
 for a while
heading into the casino,
rv parking around the back
All set up by noon a nice light lunch then a walkabout the Casino to check it out. Has been 5 years since we have been here.
we have a nice parking spot in the RV spaces
we like free parking.
lots of rv's here well spaced out.
Suzie and I headed into the casino to check out our Players cards. Seeing as it has been a while they gave us each $10.00 free slot play to welcome us back. Again we like free. We played the penny slots for a while made a couple bucks but played it all back in. no big winnings today.
Suzie looking for a bear hug
and got one
we are in the back right corner
Then spent a while outside reading and enjoying a nice cool breeze under cloudy skies.
we have a nice spot, nobody beside us
Soon time to whip up supper, just because we can.
Tonight a Tuna pot pie. For the recipe click HERE or my recipe blog top right sidebar, pretty well the same recipe I use for my Chicken pot pie.
so easy
very tasty and of course leftovers
this is Max when he stopped by
last night to get a pet
and give Suzie a doggie fix.
Still enjoying a wonderful evening outside and did get a pretty nice sunset across the parking lot, more rv's pulling in too. Still nice and warm and still in shorts and t-shirts but it's now 8:30 pm pretty dark and time to head inside for the night.
What a great way to end the day
That was it for another fun day in the road.  And looking forward to visitors tomorrow for lunch and Wille Nelson tomorrow night.
Thanks for stopping by again and hope you had a wonderful day as well.

What an amazing Casino across the highway! And another wonderful day it turned out to be. HAPPY, Blessed, Easter

Where are we today ?
Red River Ranch Thackerville OK

This morning was kinda cool, overcast and windy. But we knew that so I put a nice corned beef brisket we picked up the other day, half price only $4:00 and we love corned beef. Head of cabbage for .89 cents, 2 taters and some carrots, into our slow cooker for the day.
Because of the cool weather this morning we had planned to checkout the Windstar Casino across the Interstate from here about 9 am.
The website is HERE  Now this place is HUGE (1/2 million square feet!) We walked the whole place end to end was 1.5 miles ! With over 7.400 gaming machines plus 1,500 rooms, 16 restaurants, 150 campsites and all the facilities you can think of and, or can afford. Plus 8 areas with different cities and countries to visit. London, Madrid, Rome, Beijing, Paris, Vienna, Cairo and New York. Each area with a different theme and amazing sculptures, fountains etc... Sorry no pictures inside the casino. But check their Website HERE. Same link as earlier.
We got players cards as we usually do but no deal here! Want us to spend $50. dollars each and get $25.00 free slots play! Not gonna happen. We are not gamblers but did play the penny slots for about an hour 5 bucks each. Almost won our money back but as usual made the donation. Not bad for a morning's entertainment.
this place is so large they have 2 water
 towers like this
the hotel, resort, pools, spa,
its all here
This is a map of this HUGE casino
Ok enough of that over the top place, but we had to check it out. We home for lunch. Smelling the slow cooker doing it's thing, smells wonderful
A nice light lunch, few more walkabouts and even some reading time done outside in the sunshine that finally came out. Out of the wind a bit cooler but was still a wonderful day !
leaves on the trees and beautiful clear blue skies
This is my old slow cooker, 10 years in my restaurant every day still works good after more than 28 years.
melt in your mouth cornedbeef
was excellent, for a Easter dinner
Then a great sunset and a fellow RV'er, Bruce stopped by to chat and gave Suzie her doggie fix.
wonderful sunset
Wonderful doggie fix for Suzie
Hey we had fun today, missing our family on Easter Sunday, but will hook up with them soon.
