Mooo...... across the road, then Pebbles for lunch and a another fun Happy hour

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Rain, thunder and lightening overnight, or so I am told never heard a thing. We both got a good sleep though so no problem.
Shortly after 7:30 I took a walkabout down the lane and up the road and back. The neighbours across the road having breakfast out in the fields, some staring at me as I strolled down the road.
most looking pretty tame except for this big Bull to the right
I will keep my distance thank you
this be the daycare section
more over here in this part of the field
I then made a quick trip to the grocery store for some Almond Milk, then home to putter around for a while. Chatted with George and Bill for a bit then Suzie and I headed out for lunch,
We have been wanting to check out this Mennonite Buffet just south of Durham for lunch, we prefer to go out for a big meal at lunch, is less expensive and have the rest of the day for it to digest.
We had heard that they have a pretty good buffet here at Pebbles, Their website is HERE  .
interesting playground looks like a construction site
At 11:30 we seated right away, Our friendly waitress got our water for us and we headed right to the buffet. Began with a very nice salad bar fresh baked rolls and some tasty homemade dressings, nice looking homemade soups as well.
very nice fresh salad bar
Then the hot buffet, scalloped potatoes, lasagne, roast beef, turkey and chicken , Broasted chicken (that we love), and corn, buttery whipped potatoes, chicken and beef gravy, rice, macaroni and cheese, and french fries. They also had a grill cooking smoked pork chops, burgers and sausage, all very good.
the hot buffet

my first sample plate
I enjoyed another plate , more broasted chicken
lots of desert selections as well,
but I am not a desert person
Suzie enjoyed
cakes here and soft service ice-cream and toppings
We did have a very tasty meal, was $14.95 per person (over 60) for lunch, the buffet is the best deal, includes all you can eat as well as the deserts. The rest of their menu is very limited. We would go back again at some point because we did enjoy it.
Now back home by about 12:30 and we had Clemson stop by to say hi and sniff around, we do have doggie treats but he does not like ours fussy little guy by friendly.
Clemson sniffing about
We did enjoy some afternoon enjoying our e-readers under cloudy skies but still quite comfortable out. Shortly after 3 pm Rob and Pat joined us, then Patsy and Bill, and then George and Rose for Happy hour, it just kind of evolves around here. Always a nice social time.
Pat, Patsy and Clemson
Patsy setting up here camera thingy for pictures
I used my camera to snap this one quickly
every one warm but Suzie all bundles up as usual
We enjoyed flapping our gums as the clouds rolled in then about 4:45 it began to sprinkle, a sign for everyone to head back home and inside, good thing we did because we had a nice downpour shortly after this picture below was taken.
the rain started shortly after I took this picture
No supper for us tonight after a wonderful filling tasty lunch we not hungry at all maybe some popcorn later on watching tv .
We had a good day and glad you dropped on by hope you did as well.
Blog posted now pretty early and stopped raining, think we need to head back outside for some more reading.

    1. We love the markets but th occasional buffet for lunch moderation the rest of the time salads walking , only 2 lite beers water next no carbs seems to do the trick no deserts as a rule or junk foods.

  4. I'm glad you enjoyed Pebbles, we have been a few times, so many choices.
It was a dull day but got quite warm at times too. The rain was gentle so always good for the grass and gardens.

  5. Buffets are wonderful. I always go in thinking I'll just take a tiny taste and end up full and miserable the rest of the day. That menu was right up my alley!! YUMMY!!!

  7. The occasional "stick to your ribs" buffet lunch is a good thing! Hopefully the rainy days will help the firefighters out there…
