Where are we today ?
A little cool this morning and a bit of rain but gonna get warmer. So after a quick trip to Plattsville, I whipped up a huge pot of ham and bean soup. And while doing this Suzie got to play with a great Nephew that just happens to be baby sat here with his gramma.Suzie having fun |
Then we headed off to the Future shop to pick up a new WIFI device. After all our research we found a system that is fast and much less expensive than the I-coach system we have been using for the past 4 years. This is the Rogers Mobile Hotspot, (its only good in Canada) completely portable and no contract, very reasonable and comparable to the Verizon MIFI system we have for the USA when we head south. So far working very fast and love it.
Before noon we were in town and found the temperatures rising very quickly and extremely humid. Sweaters off, windows open and almost had to turn on the airconditioner in the car, except once we got out of town had some nice breezes.
Back home quickly put my shorts and sandals on to enjoy this wonderful day, before it goes away this weekend. Had big bowl of my homemade bean soup for lunch. Sandy had made a nice fresh banana loaf when we arrived and just had to have a sample some, ohh soo good, fresh out of the oven! Thanks Sam.
My plan for supper tonight was to make up some chinese food stuff, but way to nice to cook inside, So switch to plan "B" lets fire up out Weber and grill some T-bone steaks they just happened to have in the freezer, baked potatoes, caesar salad with some fresh mushrooms and onions on the side.

Glad to hear it's warming up there. I'll have to tell Denis about the new wi-fi you found. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteGet him to check it out only for Canada and pretty good coverage map.
DeleteWe had a beautiful day here in Canton, Ohio, too. And the winds were huge here too. One reading we got was 27 mph. I see the rain is headed our way, but can't blame you. It is coming from the west.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back home then, and glad you had good weather there too.
DeleteYou're having a heat wave? Well, we really are but maybe it's because we flew to Phoenix yesterday and has nothing to do with being in the Pacific NW.
ReplyDeleteOh well you really are having a heat wave.
DeleteSounds like a great day until the clouds came in....but your dinner survived...most important.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah it did survive.
DeleteCould you pls send some warm air our way? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe wind is blowing your way, hope you get some.
DeleteWhat can I say other than your dinner looked awesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rick
DeleteOur Weber Q-100 did the trick again.
Hi S & G..
ReplyDeleteAre you still using the Rogers Hot Spot,? good coverage ? is it just $5.00/month when you are in the states ?
Kelly ( will watch for you at the Lewiston Bridge :) Kelly
Hi Kelly.
DeleteYes we still use it and so far the coverage has been good. We have not been to the Bruce so cannot say for sure, but the coverage maps says its good at least 4 g if not LTE.
We bought it at Future shop, no contract, minimum $5.00 a month then $40.. for 5 gig and $10.00 for each gig over that we get billed at the end of the month. We can put it to sleep in the fall but $35.00 to reactivate, so we just pay the $5.00 a month, its cheaper.
Will keep and eye out for you at the bridge too.
Have fun in New York.
