Where are we today ?
New Hamburg Ontario
Weather is getting better, sunshine, blue skies hardly any wind and a bit warmer. From -6c (21f) overnight to + 6c (42f) today. Kinda really liking it, just need to be a tad warmer, (big tad), but sure better than what we have been having since we got here.
Taking advantage of the weather did a few walkabouts the yard picking up more branches and limbs than had blown off the trees the last few days. Fresh air, sunshine and exercise all in one.the creek is always so peaceful looking, here, cold thou |
a few spring flowers giving us a bit of color too |
When I drove thru town this morning spotted John and Lea outside and stopped to chat for a bit. They were home all day and invited us over a for a visit and catchup. So after a bite for lunch headed back out their house. These are good friends that live in Plattsville with a very large lot. And invite us to come camp there. We lived in town for 25 years.
So stopped in and hung out in the garage where they have a TV hooked up and the three large dogs hang out too. Kind of and inside/outside patio in the garage/ sports bar. Lea has her baseball games on TV almost constantly. Winter time the doors are closed and it is heated by John's engineering marvel of a heater. Notice this car radiator, with a fan behind, and water pipes coming from the hot water heater in the house with a recirculating pump all hooked up to a wall thermostat. Toasty warm in there.
While chatting with Lea she recalled an incident at her work the other day. This couple was in the Home Depot, where she works part time and were looking for a small Weber BBQ for their RV. Lea mention she had friends that use a Weber Q-100 and are full time RV'ers. Now this lady said out of the blue is his name George? Now apparently they have been reading our blog for quite a while, but have never met us. Saw our blog posting on the side bar of another Blog that they were reading. I think Lea said they were from the Goderich Ontario area. Now how cool is that?
excellent heater |
We even got to sit on the back deck for a while in the sun too was very nice!
but look at the dog hair all over her, small price to pay for all this fun. |

Now that is quite the idea for a heater!
ReplyDeleteWorks really good too.
DeleteYou sure had a nice day. Neat story about the grill...it really is a small world!
ReplyDeleteLoved the creek and spring flowers!
Was a wonderful day for sure!
DeleteYeah, spring is kinda late this year. Hopefully you get some higher temps soon. I am always amazed how many people are reading our blogs. Soon we get to be celebrities and Hollywood is calling! Haha...
ReplyDeleteI don't think celebrities, but it sure is amazing the number of people that do read our blogs.
DeleteWhat a nice visit. By the looks of that roast beef, I think your friends had something up their sleeves before you two got there.
ReplyDeleteActually she pulled it out of the freezer and we gave it a quick thaw in warm water so we could BBQ it. They are big eaters and like the leftovers.
DeleteGlad to see your weather is improving and seeing that Suzie was getting her Doggy fix. Sure nice having such good friends to spend a Sunday afternoon with. Delicious looking Sunday dinner. Have a great Monday!
ReplyDeleteWas a great day all around, especially Suzie's doggy fix.
DeleteIt's always nice to get back "home" and it's also always nice to visit with fellow bloggers. Warmer weather is just around the corner.
ReplyDeleteYep always a busy time here. And its getting warmer by the minute!
DeleteI'm not at all surprised that your talent with a Weber Q is making you famous far and wide - all your bbq's look fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rick but you may be giving me a swelled head.
DeleteI just enjoy cooking and especially on our Weber Q and have almost always posted pictures of the dinners I make anyway.
