Happy Birthday to My Sister Louise !!! She is still younger than me, Amazing!!

I had the the pleasure of chatting (typing) with her on Tuesday night and this afternoon, all is well with them and they are celebrating with a special home cooked lobster dinner, infront of a fire watching it snow, (sorry we could not be there, too cold.) They are preparing for a roadtrip (with two cats), heading south in a few weeks in their Roadtrek (van conversion) just to get away from the cold Canadian weather and see the Mouse. Safe Travels guys.

Today the weather is more comfortable, 70f  in the morning and the sun is shinning, gotta love it! Computing and walkabout the resort then into town for some groceries. Checking out a few stores I noticed Bob's Donuts and right beside it was Bob's Liquors. I thought how nice Bob is diversified. So I went into the Donut store to buy a Kolache. I didn't know what they were but there was a sign on the window says they were fresh made. They had a few choices and I thought a sausage and cheese one would be nice for Suzie and I to try.
Sausage and cheese Kolache
We have noticed a few signs in Texas advertising these things and never had the chance to try them. Apparently they are quite popular in the Houston area. Think maybe go back tomorrow and try another one, yummy!
What is a Kolache?

The kolache originated in Eastern Europe, and dates as far back as 1700. The original product was a pastry filled with fruit. These ones are a delicious, slightly sweet fresh-baked pastry traditionally filled with sausage, cheese, or fruit.

I was so excited about finding these fresh baked delights and Bob had conveniently placed his liquor store next door, that I just had to go in there and look at all the wonderful, interesting looking spirits he had there. Soo many interesting flavours and types, hmm what to buy? I found a good deal 1.75 litres of a whiskey for $14.49. I know its about $55.00 back home.

Now with our warm sunny weather returning its back outside to really enjoy it. A bucket of water and I can finish bucket washing our coach today and even touched up the wax in a few critical places. Like the front (so the bugs don't stick) and the vinyl graphics with a UV protector.

Chores are done now, we can set up our chairs in the sun and relax with our books for a bit, until I fire up the barbie throw on a couple of baked potatoes and grilled pork chops, with some tender, fresh asparagus for supper.
tasty supper
Another day flew by, wonder what's on the agenda for tomorrow? We have seen most of the free sights in this area, and have no desire to go to Houston (big city) and to get to Galveston its about a two hour drive right thru Houston, so we will just enjoy this relaxing atmosphere here, while we can.
