Join us as we travel North America in our Holiday Rambler Vacationer, since August 2006

Bright and sunny again, gotta love this weather. Morning coffees, computin, walkabouts, check ouur tires and put the barbie away. We are on the road Saturday morning to Willis Texas, just north of Houston for about 12 days.

We had heard of a seafood restaurant not too far away between Rockport and Aransas Pass that had good food and was reasonable. So thought we would check it out for lunch today. The Big Fisherman Seafood Restaurant is family owned and operated and has been in business since 1957. We heard about this place on Tuesday after Bill and Carol returned from here with Dick and Faye. They went for the famous Tuesday Lunch special All-you-can-eat Chicken fried steak, Chicken livers or Gizards, served with soup, coleslaw and mashed potatoes for an amazing low price of only $2.95, there was a very long lineup.

Starting with the large open seating area and efficient staff, we were seated and our beverages served.

We started with a tasty bowl of gumbo (a little spicy for Suzie)

My entre was 15 cajun shrimp and fries.

Suzie had the catch of the day, a large fish fillet, shrimp and rice.

Well we had good service and a tasty nice lunch at a very reasonable price only $7.95 each.

Now on the way out we noticed these three cats by these entrance, turned our heads and there was five more just lounging around I assume waiting for some leftover fish dinners. I might be concerned if this was a chinese restaurant.

Now back home just putter around a bit and sit out to read for a while. Shortly after 4.pm we created a small Happy Hour, goodbye with Rick and Suzie, discussing our travel plans, they are heading to California and us towards Louisiana, Bill stopped by for a bit and they too are heading to east as well. The six of us are on the road in the morning.

After this social time we settle in watch a bit of tv and a broiled cheese and bacon snack for supper. No big meal tonight after a nice lunch.
