Carribean Cruise Day 2, a Day at Sea

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
We both slept very well but as usual up early by 4 am the norm for us, if we could sleep in maybe stay up up a bit later? But not a problem we still enjoy our days to the fullest,
Got some early morning exploring done looking for coffee and juice,  Found the coffee but only food available was room service or Pizza. No problem we enjoyed our coffees and went to check out the breakfast buffet that started at 7 am. Not going anywhere today anyway  "a Day at Sea" But we did get to keep looking, enjoying and exploring.  It is a cool overcast day so we took in a couple of entertaining seminars about shore excursions and shopping. It did get to the mid 60's f today but by the pool and out of the wind quite comfortable
cruising right along can barely feel the ship moving
need to look at the water to realize it
We had breaky right at 7 so many choices. This worked for  me more than we usually have and so many choices. Walked by later about 9:30 there was 4 very long lines at the 4 buffet stations, glad we went early.
a tasty breaky, bacon sausage eggs,
 croissant and grilled tomato
lots of choices
Exploring more, the Serenity Deck level 15 adults only over 21 very nice quiet and secluded.
private alcoves
Then down to level 12 where they have the sports track game and waterworks slide.
still a bit chilly at 7:30 tis morning
Suzie wearing her vest too.
mini golf, walking, running track I did a few laps today
Lots of games here too. mini golf pool etc..

Then the sky ride 2 tracks that you can peddle around the ship on this looks cool.
sky ride
bottom of the water slides
pretty quiet right now
Then the seminars where very informative with lots laughs thrown in and info on tours we can do and shopping ideas.
Now time for lunch, today we thought we would check out the Blue Iguana Cantina where they build Tacos or Burritos for you . This is right by the centre beach area of the ship  and some lively entertainment, music and dancing  etc.  Even had some sunshine here as well.
made right to your specs
nice waterside rable

chicken burrito
fish and shrimp taco
Now we enjoyed the music and entertainment for most of the afternoon, reading watching, quite comfortable here.
I did a few walkabouts  even enjoy the peace and quiet by the rear of the ship and pools back there.
Back to the fun spot, conga line going on and everyone dancing got us in the mood.
everyone is right into the party mode
having fun
We have a couple of comfortable chairs with the music, and out of the winds and drizzle, relaxing reading, people watching, chatting with a few people and more walkabouts.. until just before 4 pm. then back to our stateroom to enjoy our own private balcony. The only noise we have here is the waves hitting the side of the ship.
nice to enjoy our Balcony for a while before tome for supper
a nice view from the balcony but a foggy day
Shortly after 5 pm we got dressed up just because we could , they ask for elegant attire today in the dining room.
this as elegant as we get.
Into the dining room and seated right away. Great choices for dinner tonight hmm what to have 2 of my very favourite meats included in the cruise price only tonight?? Prime rib and also lobster tails.
I started with a couple of fried oysters,
quite tasty first time
We solved the problem what to eat I ordered the prime rib, rare, lobster tail, 3 shrimp 2 onion rings and broccoli. Yes this was all included normally regular menu and extra 20 dollars .
oh my and I ate it all, have some Pepcid ac to get me through the night.
During dinner the waiters put of a show for all of us gus=estes in the dining room , lotsa great music and dancing.
so much fun and laughter
this is the Fun Ship
Then with our after dinner coffee we were surprised with an Anniversary cake and candle plus all the tables around singing Happy Anniversary to us. A very nice touch. Makes our celebration even better.
Back home to change clothes , or room has been mad up and bed turned down. Then more walking and exploring. Back
the wonderful towel animals are fun as well.
Back by the pool area  we checked out the large movie screen, "Dive in Movies' tonight Sci Fi  at sea. They encourage to grab some popcorn (free) a blanket and curl up and enjoy 2 movies by the pool.
large screen  by the pool, swim and watch a movie if you like.
ready for the show
There was comedy show at one club but was just about over would have to wait 4 minutes for the next in at 8:30. Ao we went to the Limelight lounge to enjoy the 70's and Motown hits  a Vegas style show that was VERY good. Done by 9 pm, late enough for us.
On the way back we listen to James in the lobby for a few minutes  very good singing.
Solo guitar withe James in the Atrium loby
That was our first Fun Day at Sea. just enjoying the ship and all the interesting things to see and do and we never even scathed the surface on activities . But with all this food to sample and enjoy need to get more exercise, working on that, I did get 6 miles walked today just need to keep that up.
Tomorrow a day in Cozumel, just going to explore  a little but there this will be our 4 visit here.
Thanks for joining today  even doing nothing we were busy.

  10. Glad you are enjoying your Cruise and your Anniversary. It is hard not to overeat on those.
Most have a Midnight Buffet. Normally filled with Ice Sculptures. Just walk through will be an experience in itself.

    1. We have enjoyed many cruises, but no desire to go the midnight buffet, glad they don't do it anymore. Also have seen lotsa in sculptures on our cruises the best part is to see them being carved on deck.

  13. For us wino's, can you give us a glimpse of the prices for a bottle of Chardonnay or Merlot? What a fun way to celebrate your anniversary!!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The one is about $40.00 a bottle for a cheaper wine, but you are allowed to bring 2-750 ml bottles on board. Beer about $6.75 for a 16 oz. and whiskey about the same for a shot.

  14. I admit that due to your posts I'm checking for discount cruises. I found one that looks fun leaving out of Panama on Friday, but this close the airfare would be more than the cruise. I am seeing more that I would enjoy checking out on the ship in your pictures than I thought I would. Especially the sky ride! Keep bringing us along, it's fun!

    1. The air fare is usually more than the cruise, but you can usually park an rv at the cruise ship terminal. Lots to see and do on the Carnival ships, decent food varieties , the shore excursions can be pricey but you don't really need to spend any money to go ashore and explore.
