Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Another good sleep and nicely adjusting to the time change, that is a good thing, we have another one today!Ready to hit the road this morning and no visible sunrise just fog, So I got a nice walkabout for a half hour then we secured our coach and hooked up the car, on the road again !
pretty foggy morning so we waited a bit |
Some interstates and wonderful smooth back roads with next to no traffic. Gotta love these roads here.
These back roads would have been wonderful scenery except for the fog . Passed from Georgia to Alabama then into Florida and back into Alabama. We stopped at a Flying J in Dothan Alabama . To fuel our coach and make a nice light lunch just because it was time.
Then south to I-10 and west to our destination. Most of the day we passed so much devastation from the recent Hurricane that came through these areas. Thousands of trees down everywhere. houses with trees on them and buildings that paid the price. Not many pictures of them, I was driving.
now into the Florida Panhandle |
"Sweet home Alabama " |
this be the place |
this is wonderful and you know it when Suzie in shorts in the shade |
love the colors on this dog |
I tried to set up our dish but the trees really got in the way |
right across from us |
they sure did a nice job here |
our nice corner site |
not long on our Weber q the english muffins warm in foil |
now that was all we needed for supper tonight, these are very filling |
The weather forecast does not look great so we will play that by ear. Lots to see around here if we wish to do that.
our travels today . 326 miles on very good roads |
And we did enjoy reading outside reading and blogging until about 7:30 tonight, still 72F. But a long enough day for us, inside to kick back a relax, tomorrow is another day.
Thanks for coming along and hope y'all had a great day as well.

Where have we been this Winter?
I'm a bit embarrassed ... Always thought Sweet Home Alabama was a city, like Sweet Home, AL. same as Sweet Home, OR. Who knew? Another nice park in your membership. The best crab cakes EVER! are in that area, but don't recall where :)
ReplyDeleteThis is Sweet home Alabama says so on their welcome sign. You tell me about crab cakes but don't remember where you had them?? That's not fair.
DeleteNot many pictures of them, I was driving.
ReplyDeleteLol... what, Suzie doesn't get to use the camera??
She can us the camera, and does sometimes but is usually reading and is not interested in taking pictures like I am.
DeleteYour travel days are going quite well. Like the way you travel by stopping for a few days to see things and rest up and relax.
ReplyDeleteThanks JO we like to travel like this, very relaxing , this is our home after all so no real need to rush.
DeleteYou've made a nice run today getting you to another nice members park. Enjoy your time there.
ReplyDeleteIt was a good travel day, and we always enjoy this area.
DeleteYou're moving right along. If you stay on I-10 as you go west, I'd sure appreciate some comments on the road surface condition.
ReplyDeleteWe will travel mostly I-10 its been few years, but we will mention how it is.
DeleteI remember when I arrived there you came out to help me park. We stayed north of the 10 at Styx River last week. C U soon.
ReplyDeleteThat was a few years ago we met up here, would like to go to Styx but prefer to stop at Abita springs this time.
DeleteI loved Alabama, except for the bugs. So green and beautiful!! I hated seeing the devastation from hurricanes and tornados however.
ReplyDeleteNo bugs here right now for us a good thing. This is a beautiful area but the devastation is something we have witnessed a few times over the years.
DeleteSo sad about the hurricane and devastation..takes so long to recover. Love Alabama..Hoping the weather holds so you guys can do a little sight seeing! Dinner awesome!
ReplyDeleteThe devastation is sad but the eventually recover. The weather is warm and we may check put a few things , have toured this area many times in the past. Dinner very tasty again.
DeleteThat was a long travel day for you. Nice temperatures, that is why you are on the road :) Sorry about the trees and the dish.
ReplyDeleteWe rest p and plan our long travels days and they go well. Not a big deal with the dish we are one here 3 nights and local tv is interesting to watch the local weather.
DeleteMoving along nicely! Are you planning a visit to New Orleans?
ReplyDeleteOh yeah we always visit there when we pass by probably our 6th or 7th time to go there always enjoy the atmosphere.
DeleteI'm beginning to think Suzi likes dogs... :cD
ReplyDeletehmmm, what you think that? lol....
