Where are we today?

What a wonderful warm night we had and so quiet here, love the free secure camping at this casino, security constantly cruising around. nice neighbours and being very close to where we want to be for a couple of nights.

Early morning walkabout the casino and campground here, just enjoying the peacefulness and very warm temps. And just after 8 am made quick trip to Algodones a mile down the road to my dentist for a minor adjustment to my denture I had made in December. Will pick it up tomorrow, no charge. Back home shortly after (9 am no line up at customs) nice to go there and back early in the day.

Today for lunch we are meeting up with our good friends Jim and Sharon fulltimers from Alberta Canada, We first met many years ago at Catalina Spa in Desert Hot Springs California, hooked up again in the Florida Keys, Alabama, and Quartzsite last year. So nice to see them again if only for a short visit over lunch, better than no visit. The place I choose was here Chicken on the run in the Yuma foothills, that the
Dixons had mentioned on their blog, Love Broasted Chicken and a small mom and pop restaurants .
Now we met with them and this place is sure a worth while visit, great service, amazing broasted chicken. Nothing fancy just excellent food in a small family owned restaurant. "Hey thats the kind of restaurant I ran for 10 years." Our kinda place.

My lunch below, they were all made to order and served together. Everything was hot and excellent. Large portions and excellent prices. The stuff very friendly and service excellent. No leftovers though, it was too good, so no super tonight. This is a place we will come back to for sure! Thanks Jim and Sandie for the tip.

Picked up a few groceries then home for the day, Couple more walkabouts and enjoyed our reading time here in the shade. It did get to 89 f so was very warm in the sun.

We actually got to read out side in shorts until 7:30 tonight then headed inside. Had enough fresh air and exercise for the day.

What a great day we had, catch up with our friends and some more amazing weather.
Super tonight we had some popcorn and shared an apple, Nothing else needed.

DeleteOh, by the way, that picture of the Airstream brings back pleasant memories. Back in 1959, I was invited to take a trip with my Uncle, Aunt, and cousin in their Airstream that looked similar to that one but without all those windows. We were on the road for almost three months. Wonderful time had by all.

You found a good time to come back across the border. The lines start getting long after the liquor sales start at 11:00 AM. We have never quite mastered beating the lineup because I can never pass up the fish,shrimp tacos for lunch!
