It all opened at 9 am and we were in line to get through first thing and then outta there. Checked out a couple Trailers and really like the new steps that they had for their trailers. Set out and secure on the ground what a great concept !

like the new stairs |
We headed on in and the crowds not too bad as we made progress they became more, we are used to this. This is our first day here and just an overview, we will be back again before the week is done when the crowds go away.
|
not to busy right now |
Now lots of stuff to see most we passed over. but always interesting . Pretty well the same every year with a few changes here and there.
Now we know from the past, line up for the Minute Rice booth ( only a few minutes), spin the wheel and get a gift and some free Rice. We like free! So we got our rice and wandered about some more checked to the whole tent stuff. We know that when the rice samples are done in a day or 2 they are done for the rest of the show. So Gotta get here early.

we got a years supply here today and all free |
We ran into a few friends here and there said hi in the crowds and carried on.

cool hot dog flippers

Then outside to check out these vendors. The sunshine was wonderful!
You want food ? Lots of options but we have no need, food at home.

We had enough by 11:30 so headed back on home, Sure glad we went early the lineup heading north was over 1/2 a mile, glad we heading south now away from the crowds.
|
line heading north to the show |
Back home we enjoyed a nice light lunch then I took another walkabout a mile or so. Lots of large groups gather here, (not for us). Then home to relax in the sun and get some real nice quality reading time in. Now this is the life, peaceful quiet and enjoying a good book.
Then at 3 pm the weather is good enough that we can enjoy a Happy Hour at Bill at Patsy's today. Share our stories and what we did today for a bit then as it cools down time for us all to head on home and whip up supper. Now when we have our Happy hour, wherever it is, feel free to join us. just bring a chair and your beverage, we not shy.

a nice catch up time with our days adventures |
|
Clemson is entertaining us time for his supper |
But time for our supper as well. Tonight I grilled a pork steak (that we split) added to our salad and sure was very tasty.
|
yummy?yes |
What can I say? Just another great desert day now that the sunshine came back again and looks like it will be here for a while.
Glad that y'all dropped by for a visit.
Where have we been this Winter
I'm with you on going early and beating the crowd.
ReplyDeleteBeating the crowds is nice the way we like to do most things.
DeleteWe were only in Q for 2 full days and the weather was short of nice. We did drive through La Posa looking for you but couldn't find your rig. We hightailed it back to the Phoenix area before the forecasted winds were to come in.
ReplyDeleteToo bad you missed us we were easy to find about 1/2 ,mile east of the pavilion, just north of the main road. Would have been nice to see y'all again it's been a very long time about 3 years I think.
DeleteSo glad the sun made a reappearance, looks like another dull one here today in Happyville.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice and sunny yesterday, but then clouds again today and tomorrow, but heck we happy here too!
DeleteAltho we've been Quartzite to other destinations, we've never attempted to make it to the 'Show'. It does look like it would be quite an event to share time with like minded travelers and walk the tent as if it were the Del Mar County Fair. Perhaps next year ...
ReplyDeleteIt is a zoo, but we like to check out a few things. during the next week not as busy.
DeleteI had Steak and Potatoes out of a can last night. Your dinner makes me envious. I'll have to drive up there this week to see the big show.
ReplyDeleteThanks Doug it was tasty, hope to see you again at Bloggerfest this year or drop by here.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful weather! I would go early to a show like that as well, crouds make me nervous. I love food trucks!
ReplyDeleteExcellent weather yes. Don't much like the crowds either.
DeletePlease keep that nice weather! We are on our way but won't be there for another week. Try to hold on to that warm, sunny sky!
ReplyDeleteSorry it went away but should be back in full force by the time you get here.
DeleteAnother day and we should start having better weather. I think, I hope! Nice seeing you and Suzie at the Tent. I agree, go early, then go later in the week when the crowds are done. It sure was crowded, though! I loved the food smells, all the bar-g-qued food and specialty items. Made us all hungry, and like you - we headed to our rigs to make lunch. :)
ReplyDeleteYes better weather very soon. Was great to run into you guys as well. The food smells were wonderful but we have done them in the past. No need now. Nice to get home and enjoy the foods we have. We will see you again soon.
DeleteGlad to read you made it back to your home safe and sound.
ReplyDeleteAlso, nice to read you have had some sunshine. We are hoping things will be better ahead of us tomorrow so we can head out but, if not, there is always the next day. After all enjoying the ride is just as important as the destination.
Enjoy the desert.
We always enjoy the desert , An yes the journey is always part that we enjoy as well. Travel safe and have fun.
