What and wonderful early morning here in Havasu City, and chatting with our hosts after a nice walkabout the neighborhood.
We said thanks to our hosts, and see y'all on down the road again we had a really great time here with them and sightseeing Havasu City.
After a quick trip to the .99 cent store for a few things we secured the coach and headed on down the road through Parker to Quartzsite Arizona.

see nice scenery heading south on 95 |
|
getting closer to Q, the desert is here |
After topping up our propane only $20.00 in the last month and top up our fuel we are ready to boondock. Love these free camping areas here in the desert. Open spaces, no reservations, no close neighbours is absolutely wonderful.
|
all set up and had such before 1 pm |
That done I whipped into town to fill up our water jug,
Still pretty quiet here in town , just the way we like it before the crowds in January. A few vendors starting to set up other than ones that are here most of the year.
|
one of my favourite tool places |
|
RO water still only $1.00 for 5 gallons |
Back home to relax out side and enjoy our e-readers, even though it was 78f it was overcast and a cool 15 mph wind. No problem still better that cold.
|
what a wonderful view |
About 4:30 I whipped up a salad and preheated our Weber Q to grill a couple bone in chicken breasts. We had a sprinkle of rain, not enough to take the dust off the car, but that resulted in a double rainbow, and it was amazing !
|
we are the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow ! |
|
the other end |
As supper was about done the skies were clearing and were are having a very interesting sunset. Only in the desert skies do we see things like this.
|
yummy chicken |
|
and leftovers too |
That was our short travel day only 74 miles today we feel like we are home again "desert dirt" Small town in the desert.
Thanks for stopping by for a peak and hope your day was wonderful too.
Where have we been this Winter
Welcome back to the neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bill, feels good.
DeleteWe plan on making a quick trip back to "Q" too but just not sure when.
ReplyDeleteAlways something to see and do here and so peaceful, looks up up when you here.
DeleteWasn't that rainbow something??? Love your photo - I got one, too, with it over The Palms. I missed the sunset, though. It looks like it was gorgeous. Nice to be back, I understand that, for sure. :)
ReplyDeleteThe robot really was something and lasted for quite a while, too bad you missed the sunset.
DeleteSure is nice to be back.
Good thing different people like different things. Quartzsite was just okay for us...not our thing.
ReplyDeleteGreat rainbow pic!

ReplyDeleteThanks , we sure will enjoy the peace and quiet here.
DeleteI've been to Q several times, once to Boondock last year at Poloma RD, but I arrived after the action in March. This year I was planning on arriving in Late January. How hard do you think it would be to find a spot?
ReplyDeleteGary if you are boon docking there is always a place. Very busy during the rv show Jan 21 to 29th but still lots of boondocking.
DeleteWe have been coming here 10 years and never had a problem finding a place wherever we want.
Thanks for the info George. Maybe we will cross paths. Have fun.
DeleteSounds great Gary, look us up.
DeleteYou got some great photos. Mother Nature is a wonderful model.
