Sun. Nov 20, Rockport Little Theatre

Join us as we travel North America in our Holiday Rambler Vacationer,
 since August 2006

This morning a wonderful hot, humid and sticky one. The dew was so heavy on the vehicles it looks like a heavy rain. The regular coffees and computing and a walkabout the resort. Love the old oak trees that have such character and interesting shapes.
love the oak trees
Then to check out the pond this morning and the usual birds, egrets, ducks and now two very distinctive Roseate Spoonbills feeding in the shallow water.

Well with such a nice morning we were soon outside enjoying our books in the shade with a nice breeze, so wonderful.

We had seen a sign advertising the Rockport Little Theatre in town has their last performance today at 2 pm presenting the Best Little Whorehouse in Texas with tickets only $10.00 each.
The other day I picked up four tickets for us. We have enjoyed the movie, love local theatre productions, prefer matinees, the price was right and what better place to see this production other than Texas? Today is their last performance so lets go. In town at the former elementary school we arrived shortly after 1 pm.

old school auditorium
We just hung around in the shade chatting, enjoyed some fresh popcorn until the doors were opened and we choose our seats. I believe they were pretty well sold out. This was in the old school auditorium with old wooden seating (should have brought cushions like a lot of people) and was nicely air conditioned until the play began. Then they turned it off so we could hear the actors. We thoroughly enjoyed this two and one half hour production, with lively songs, great voices, good acting and just an overall fun time that had us in stitches quite a few times.

So now after the theatre what would we like to do, its 4:30pm ? Lets checkout a new restaurant K-Bobs Steak House. So down the road we go, on the way back home.
here it is
Seated inside with a friendly talkative waiter, started with a large frosty beverage, and appetizers to share, chicken wings, quesadillas, and some huge crab stuffed mushrooms all very tasty.
tasty appetizers
Then the entre for me was a very nice "senior" portion of catfish fillets, fries and hushpuppys. Very tasty and reasonable, thou for the life of me I just can't understand what the attraction to hushpuppys is.
Love the catfish fillets
We all enjoyed different choices BBQ'd Ribs, Steak and grilled catfish all excellent and very reasonably priced and of course we had leftovers to bring home.

So back home and it was still very warm out so we enjoyed the outside fresh air and light breeze until it was time to call it another great day!

  1. i only like hushpuppies if they have jalapenos in them

  2. Sounds like you had a great day. We had some blackened catfish the other evening. Delicious!

I wish we had some of your weather, it is cold and wet here with a big rain storm last night. Looking for places to go for a week or so in the Desert Hot Springs or Palm Springs area. Any suggestions? We have booked a week in January at Desert Pools, but still looking for recommendations for December, February and March.

  3. It is great little play! Seems to me you had a perfect day.

  4. Daryl:

We like Catalina Spa( CC), Desert hot springs. We will be there for new years.

  5. heyduke50:

Maybe that's the secret ingredient missing!

We love it when you take the time to drop us a line.
