This morning is sunny and warm looks like another perfect day. I went for a drive downtown by the fishing boats and harbor to the Chamber of Commerce to purchase some tickets for a Little Theatre production that we would like to see on sunday, I will tell you about that after the show.

While at the Chamber the friendly lady there wants tell me about a few things happening and there just happens to be the Aquarium and Education centre that are both very interesting and FREE ! We like free. I checked out the location of the theatre and noticed this tree in the middle of the road, talk about saving the trees.
road around the tree
I finished my errands and reported back home. We all agreed to take in some free sights this afternoon. So a bite for lunch then off to the Aquarium it opens at 1 pm.
Aquarium
As we entered a very talkative man there decided he would give us a tour of this relatively small building. Well for almost an hour he told us so many interesting facts about their facility, the fish, the Rockport area, places to buy and eat seafood, it seemed a shame to leave, but we wanted to see an S.O.S. presentation at the Bay Education centre about 2 minutes away. He told us not to miss that but we could return afterwards for more information, he would be there until 4 pm. They just love having us "Winter Texans" visiting the area.
Marley the leopard eel
Seahorse
Remember this picture below I took the other morning? Well at the Aquarium he confirmed what kind of bird it was, so there now ya know mystery solved. Its a Roseate Spoonbill.
Now just few hundred yards to the Bay Education Centre for a another interesting informative S.O.S. (Science on a Sphere) presentation.

Below is an example of the type of live type views we watched and had narrated to us just another great experience.
amazing shows
After the shows we had a chance to hold up the world for a while and look at some of their informative displays.
come on Suzie its heavy!
Huge Whooping Crane
The Whooping Crane is another Winter Texan Migrating from Wood Buffalo National Park in Saskatchewan Canada to Rockport Texas every fall. A few years ago they were just about extinct.
Ok now we were getting thirsty so back home for happy hour and set up our Fry Daddys for a feast of chicken wings, home made fries, celery, carrots dips then some fresh fruit for desert.
just winging it
our wing feast
After supper and the dishes done we got together for few lively games of Euchre and with a stroke of luck Pat and I whipped Rob and Suzie 3 games to one. Maybe tomorrow they can make a comeback.
