Join us as we travel North America in our Holiday Rambler Vacationer,
since August 2006
After 4 busy days of visiting and socializing with old and new friends it is time to move on and relax.
A bright sunny day and time to secure things for travel. Don and Ailene finished the truck camper, Elmer and Claudia started their Road Trek, George secured his solar panels to travel and we pulled in the slide and lifted the leveling jacks. Their three rigs heading to Quartzsite for a couple of weeks and us East on I-8 to Pilot Knob resort for a week, then Quartzsite.
No rush today we left shortly after 10:00 am for a nice easy drive about 45 minutes to the resort. Thru the desert, past the huge sand dunes, even the area that we have stayed in a few times in the past on Presidents day weekend, there is nobody there right now but will be packed by then.
We checked in and have a huge corner site, got all setup and had lunch before noon. Putter about a bit then a load of laundry today. Its so nice to sit in the sunny cactus garden reading a book while the laundry goes thru its cycles, before you know it its all done. We are still in California but they use Arizona time so we lost an hour today, the nice thing is it doesn't get dark until after 6:00 pm now. Before we knew it was time for supper, a grilled chicken breast, rice pilaf and the rest of our turkey gravy, yummy.
