Its hard to tell if there is more Canadians or Americans in Quartzsite, so to keep people happy some places fly this flag. |
Canadian or US Flag? |
Another bright sunny morning, and a trip down town about 8:00 before too much traffic fills the streets. Nice when it's quiet around here at this time of year. Driving about there is signs for many Solar dealers that sell and install Solar systems mostly in RV's and very good prices.

The was a parking spot at the bakery so I stopped by for a couple of hamburg buns and grabbed a Big Mama (like a small chelsea bun, yummy), and when I left there was 10 people in line behind me, just made it in time.

Coming back home a drive about our desert area I noticed this sign below to point to the way for Single, Senior Rver's, thats a busy place.

Now a little later we had a quick bite to eat then across 95 to Rice Ranch, more vendors over there.
Rice Ranch |
This area is always busy as well where vendors can camp n sell, or they have a very huge gravel parking lot where you can camp with full hookups. By this time of day the streets are full of cars and RV's and the traffic just crawls.
lotsa vendors |
After a couple of hours of browsing it's time to get back to home dirt, here I discovered my bicycle tire is flat again, so off to Herb's Hardware store for a new tube, I also found an Auto supply store for a new tailpipe clamp on our coach. Now set up the awning and lawn chairs, install the clamp then begin with the bike tire. Well people dropped by to chat here and there so a 10 minute tire repair lasted about 2 and 1/2 hours, nice to meet and chat with new people. More and more rv's arriving and our large campsites in the desert are getting smaller, no problem always room for one more.
getting busier |
For supper we felt like a burger and fries, I bought two burger buns this morning so with two home made burger patties in the freezer I fire up the barbie, made some homemade fries, fired up the Fry Daddy and made us a tasty well dressed burger and fries for supper. Slow fast food.
this is our slow fast food |
While I was preparing supper we were hearing cars, rv's and trucks blowing their horns, air horns etc as they are traveling down 95. So I wandered over past out neighbours and noticed a whole bunch of very senior rv'ers lined up with their lawn chairs near the highway waving at traffic, who says there is nothing to do in the desert!
