Warmer day again lawn mowing and enjoy this wonderful day

        Running the fan in our air conditioner last night sure helped keep things comfortable for sleeping just moving the air around with no breeze at all. Pretty well 70 all night long and the same at 5:30 this morning. A bit of sunshine to start the day and mostly comfortable . Got a lovely walkabout town for a couple of miles, stopped by Pettigrew's and paid the invoice from the work the other day.Thenback home before 8 am.
      I wanted a few things for supper tonight so a quick trip to New Hamburg to pick that up and home again by 8:30. Hopped on the mower about 10 am, got it going and down by the coach, Then stopped to make an early lunch. Wanted to get some lawn mowed today before the predicted very hot weather coming this way.  headed out at 11;30 and mowed 3/4s of the yard by 1:30. Will finish the last bit at the front around the house probably tomorrow. only about 45 minutes and done. Getting hot while I was doing this and Suzie took her Dad to Stratford for another doctors appointment.

    Then into the fields and looks so cool.

        Then across from the last few acres  looks like wheat to me below , but then I am not a farmer.

      Now because of this hotter weather we are having Suzie wanted something cold for supper. So once the lawn was mowed I whipped up a Broccoli Apple salad we enjoy and have not had for a while. For that recipe you can click  HERE  or my revised recipe blog top right sidebar.  I only made 1/2 of that recipe just enough for us tonight but also added some cut up fresh mushrooms, just because I can and we like fresh mushrooms.

     That taken care of it was pretty warm then I went for a nice refreshing swim in the pool made me feel wonderful once again. More comfortable to relax in the shade and getting back into a new page turner.
     Suzie got home shortly after 3 pm and she felt like a swim as well, I will always go and enjoy this pool swimming with my favourite mermaid. Heck we can and we will enjoy it here while we can.

       A nice quiet Happy hour and soon time for supper. Pretty easy tonight this wonderful salad and a canned ham we wanted to use up, it was due to be used and we do enjoy them on occasion. Along with some tasty extra old aged  cheddar cheese we love.

     Later last night I took a  drive down the road to catch a nice sunset only a few hundred yards beyond the trees here.

      That was our busy wonderful day we both enjoyed. getting more things taken care of before we leave this area. Most of the lawn mowed, pool enjoyed and a tasty supper well.

Long drive for Laundry, enjoying this weather and remembering a good friend.

      Another wonderful day in the works and very warm over night again, in fact last night about 7:30 Pm it was 95 F inside our coach, so easy fix, disconnect from power, fire up our generator and turn on both of our air conditioners. (We do have a 15 amp power hook up but on a 200 foot extension cord will not run even one AC) in an hour the temperature was a comfortable 74F. much more better Suzie happy now.. We left our windows closed for a while then before going to bed opened them up again and turned on the fantastic fan.
       Today was laundry day and no place near anymore so Kitchener is about the closest about 30 minutes away. Laundry all sorted I headed in at 7:30 this morning, and it was not busy at all. Nice commercial machines do a great job and and quickly. 50 minutes all washed and dried I folded it up and back home by 9:30. Relaxed for a few minutes and got the mower out to mow some lawn, growing like crazy here. I did around the coach while Suzie stored the laundry and moved the extension cord for for me. Stopped for a bite to eat for lunch and back on the mower until 12:30 . getting too hot time to quit this for today.
   Then a trip to New Hamburg for a few supplies, back home to relax in the shade enjoying our e-readers.

         Now at 4 Pm we headed to the funeral home in town here for visitation a good friend of ours Al Lewis had passed away the other day, have known him, his wife and 3 children for over 35 years. They were neighbours right behind us for a while then our Optimist club functions, dances etc.. and them visiting my restaurant frequently as well. Even his Daughter Paula worked there with me for a while too. And she even baby sat daughter #2. Sad to see him go. Glad we were here to visit with family and relive so many memories with them.
         As we were getting ready to go knew it was hot and this was our outside temperature . Good thing the funeral home is air-conditioned.

      We got home just after 4:30 and the first thing into our swim suits and hop in the pool, oh my this is awesome. Water temp is very nice 79 F and crystal clear.

      Having cooled off nicely back home to whip up a salad and quickly grill a couple of smoked pork loin chops.

just about 2 minutes a side  so tasty and tender  we do love these chops.

      Then last night just before heading inside I whipped down the road and caught another interesting sunset. We don't get them here with trees right to the west of us.

        Another day getting things taken care of, and still enjoying this wonderful hot summer weather. Feels like a bit later we will fire up our generator again to run both of our a/cs  and cool down inside . before we call it a night.

        Was a great sleep we had here now in Calfornia.  Much warmer overnight now about 50 F at 4 am when I woke up. I got my coffee and computing done and waiting a  bit for Suzie to get up finaly   at 6 am. Then I  headed out to the Home Depot in Yuma AZ. I have the plan in my head what I need to do to secure my chair properly.  And knew I could get what I wanted there. A piece of 1/2 inch plywood 28 X 28 inches  to bolt the the floor, The scrap from that part sheet I borrowed a skill saw from head maintenance here  Joe, who we have known for years. Drilled some holes  added the extra pieces to give me the 1 inch height around the edge to fasten the legs. And with our good friend  Rob here helping me a bit and the loan of his cordless drill driver, (mine has died) Got er done. Only problem with all the million screws I have on board for these projects I don't have the right length I need to secure the legs.  No problem I will pick some up maybe tomorrow, then we good to go.
    I will put the finishing touches on to make it look pretty (Suzie's request), With the extra flooring we have stored back home in the spring.

    Got to the Home Depot, nice that they open at 5 am. Found what we needed and the helpful staff cut  it to size for me. Now fits in the car.

         Back home and with the saw I borrowed, we got things taken care of.

     Now we almost good to go. At least the chair is secured .

     After a light tasty lunch I can clean up my mess, put tools away and relax under our awning on an  amazing hot California sunny afternoon. In the shade afternoon temps got to 80F and is what we are here for.

      After a very nice afternoon enjoying our page turners and puttering around we were invited to Bill and Patsy's for happy hour at 3:30 so we joined our friends and flapped our gums for a while sharing stories, solving the worlds problems and telling lies, Heck this is what do.Always having fun when we get together.

            And the rest of us here had a fun time.

      Close to 5 pm, time for supper so we all headed on home. I whipped up our tasty salad to go with some boneless, skinless chicken thighs, And while I did that we got to enjoy another desert sunset.

          Another great day we enjoyed, getting things done, happy hour with friends and a yummy supper, enjoying some amazing December weather. Yup we do love this lifestyle, can you tell?

Where are we today ?

        After a fun day yesterday enjoying the heat, cooling off in the pool and late night watching the live band here had a great night's sleep. And because of that I slept late until 6 am. But up and at it enjoying a nice walkabout before the heat makes me slow down and relax in the shade.
       Again chat with a few people here and there.

       A few more walkabouts chat with some people checked our tire pressures and a light tasty lunch. Then a quick trip to Strathroy for a few supplies, and back home to read in the shade for a while.
      Chatted with Justin for a bit in a cabin right behind us. We have not seen him for a while then, Walt and Barb stopped by for a quick visit. And of course Suzie got a doggie fix with Maya . Always nice to see them again . Walt installed the flooring in our coach last summer and did an amazing job !

          Still hot and humid here 96F with the humidex only 108F (42C) down from 115F yesterday.  Still hot enough for Suzie to suggest a dip in the pool again! Wow ! Now this is wonderful. The outside pool is very refreshing and cools us down quite nicely . Bill and Eli joined us for a few minutes just as we were getting ready to leave. Nice to see them out and about so many times over the years , Bill and us have some wonderful memories.

         After our swim, over to Paul and Judy's for Happy hour, nice to see everyone once again before we head on out. Been here for 2 weeks, more than long enough for us in one place. We will pack up in the morning and relocate to another favourite place we really enjoy.

        A few things packed up preheat our Weber Q and grilled a couple of these Shrimp Burgers that we love for a nice light meal tonight.

   That was our Canada Day winding down. Now to finish this posting and head on oustide in the shade to get right back in the Patterson / Clinton book (the President is missing). Tomorrow is actually the holiday so that people can have a long weekend.

When we head south Oct 24thCountdown

Where have we been this summer?

Hot yes, love it yes, relaxing in the shade, and hockey at the arena, a perfect fall day!

Where are we today ?

      Just another amazing hot fall day here and we loving it !  Not much going on here just the way we love it, My lower back is still not right so after a  short walkabout and some ice packs think maybe tomorrow I will go back for another adjustment, Time will tell.
       I did get a short walkabout this morning, limping all the way , not good. Maybe need to get things tuned up bit more.
       Then picked up a few supplies in New Hamburg and home to whip up another light lunch. Then outside to enjoy this amazing heat wave we are having. We do love the heat!

We can deal with this no problem.

      Now not walking too far today I started another great page turner book. One of my favourite authors David Baldacci.  I really got into it for a while, Of course  did some exercises and things to help me, things are getting much better as the day goes on.

         Now with this temps noticed a neighbours a few doors down still had his pool open and loaded with a mess of young kids having a ball. They were loud but was so nice to hear them having a great time.'
        While sitting out here I used our Dr Ho massage thingy on my lower back to see if that will help with the pain in my leg .  Couple of advil as well.

       After a while  Suzie wanted the AC on inside , so I disconnected from power and fired up our genny.  With this on I can turn on both air conditioners and cool our coach down from 93 F to 75 F in less than an hour. Nice and comfy in there for her. Me I still outside soaking up the heat than I love.
         Then just after 4 pm I whipped up a salad  and preheated our Weber Q with the cast iron pan to fry up some halibut fillets with Fish Crisp for tonights supper.

          Not long and the fish is done to perfection just the way we love it.

    Then supper and dishes done down to the arena to watch Grandson number 1 skating, This is a body checking learning for these guys and he is pretty good at it, he has the muscle, the bulk and the weight to do this  he does really well.

          Back home by 6 :30 and relax outside enjoying more of this wonderful weather. Listening to the cricket symphony, posting the blog and really can;t believe that my leg and hip pain have gone away!  Will keep my fingers crossed and see if it comes back in the morning. I feeling  awesome at the moment and hope it stays that way.
