After my Chiropractor adjustment yesterday I felt so good no more back and hip pain, Got a very good sleep last night and raring to go this morning. Started with some exercises, coffee and oatmeal, computing enjoyed a nice sunrise. Then a pain free walkabout town 1.5 miles a great way to get going.
I was going to run  a few errands then a message on our phones at 9 am Suzie had her Chiropractor appointment at 9:45. Oops she thought it was tomorrow. So a quick change she hopped in the car and headed into Waterloo. I enjoyed another short walkabout and read out side in the wonderful warming sunshine about 78F perfect.
She was back home for lunch and relax a bit then about 12:30 we headed to Durham Ontario for a visitation for our Good Friends Rob and Pat's Aunt Mary who passed away the other day. She was in her 93rd year and failing. Such a sweet lady she was,  we met her only once at her husbands funeral Uncle Charlie 2 and 1/2 years years ago. So sorry for their loss and condolences to the family. RIP Aunt Mary. We did get to Chat with Rob and Pat for a bit as well as their son Trace and his spouse. Also a couple of other people there as well.
relaxing here a bit this morning
Headed out enjoying this nice country drive on scenic back roads. Not much traffic except...
Check out the next 7 pictures, this is Amish/Mennonite country, we have travelled for years and see the odd horse and buggy but never this many in one day ! Especially on a Wednesday afternoon. All different styles of buggies from small to very large.

a 90 minute drive each way
When we left Durham  headed home and our route took us right through Millbank Ontario right past Anna Mae's and was soon time for supper, seeing we were right there we could not resist plus the car was turning into the parking lot all by itself. Ok we gave in and had to enjoy a another tasty feed of their famous Broasted chicken that we love. They do have the great home cooked meals as well, the other specials today were pork ribs or a roast beef dinner. Heck we can do that at home the chicken is a treat.
not too busy yet on a Wednesday afternoon at 4 pm
no wait we were seated right away , of course you
have to walk past the bakery and a gifts first.
we shared a tasty caesar salad to start
I got 3 pics white meat,  fries sauerkraut
and a cheese bun right out of the oven
Suzie 3 pieces, scalloped potatoes,
coleslaw and a white bun she brought one piece home
Now she does love her desert and today her favourite Elderberry pie, take that home for later.
we took this home yummy
love this buggy table right behind us
was occupied when we came in
After full tummies and another craving taken care of after a busy day we headed the rest of the way home to camp awesome arriving at 5:45 pm .
Now to relax outside on this still very nice late summer day, finish this posting, and read for a while before it cools down and we head inside.
Glad that y'all dropped in for  a visit and hope you enjoy your day as well.

A quiet Sunday and a celebration of life for a good friend,

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
No more rain after the downpour we had yesterday afternoon. A quiet Sunday morning just puttering around, A quick trip to New Hamburg to get more gas for the mower here Then a light tasty lunch.A quite comfortable warm sunny day not as hot as yesterday only feels like 86F with a slight breeze quite comfortable in the shade.
Then a nice walkabout  and some reading. And watching the grass growing like crazy after all that rain yesterday.
heck it will soon need to be cut again !
This afternoon into Kitchener for a celebaration of life for a good friend of ours Harry Powell who passed away last week. We first met Harry and Jackie in Abita Springs Louisiana in 2006.  had some fun times with them, spent the afternoon at the Abita Springs Brewery for free tasting of all their wonderful tasty beers. Then we found out they were also members of Rock Glen resort. We enjoyed lots of fun times with them here and also at Rock Glen, even when Harry worked Maintenance there for a couple years at Rock Glen.  The celebration was wonderful with all the family and friends there as well as this whole group from last year's BBQ at Rock Glen, plus a few more. We chatted with quite a few and will see them again this August.
this was our group last Year Aug 18th at Rock Glen

Back home here by 4 pm, relaxed for a bit in the shade enjoying our reading, then soon time to whip up supper. We had a few snacks, cheese, crackers and veggies this afternoon so all we needed was to grill a couple of burgers tonight.
some nice quite reading time we always enjoy
turkey burger for Suzie and Chrorizo burger for  me

this sure hit the spot tonight
and a few more of our fresh Ontario Strawberries
Now after supper and dishes done we can still enjoy a wonderful warm comfortable evening outside , Finish this posting read a bit more and listen to the birds, and watch the rabbits and chipmunks around our space. Really have to love this quiet country living.
A bit later we watched a powered paraglider flying around the area as we do many evening and managed to get a picture of one below.
just buzzing around up there enjoying the scenery
Now last night I took drive down the road looking for another sunset , and was surprised with  what I saw.
heck colourful skies again
then looked east and saw this wonderful cloud formation
And that was our relaxing day, and the celebration of life of a good friend of ours. In a way sad , but so many memories and so many friends there. Now he is at peace.
Thanks for taking the time to check us out and hope you had a decent summer day as well.

Long drive for Laundry, enjoying this weather and remembering a good friend.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Another wonderful day in the works and very warm over night again, in fact last night about 7:30 Pm it was 95 F inside our coach, so easy fix, disconnect from power, fire up our generator and turn on both of our air conditioners. (We do have a 15 amp power hook up but on a 200 foot extension cord will not run even one AC) in an hour the temperature was a comfortable 74F. much more better Suzie happy now.. We left our windows closed for a while then before going to bed opened them up again and turned on the fantastic fan.
Today was laundry day and no place near anymore so Kitchener is about the closest about 30 minutes away. Laundry all sorted I headed in at 7:30 this morning, and it was not busy at all. Nice commercial machines do a great job and and quickly. 50 minutes all washed and dried I folded it up and back home by 9:30. Relaxed for a few minutes and got the mower out to mow some lawn, growing like crazy here. I did around the coach while Suzie stored the laundry and moved the extension cord for for me. Stopped for a bite to eat for lunch and back on the mower until 12:30 . getting too hot time to quit this for today.
Then a trip to New Hamburg for a few supplies, back home to relax in the shade enjoying our e-readers.
always looks nice when mowed, just a few more acres to go
Now at 4 Pm we headed to the funeral home in town here for visitation a good friend of ours Al Lewis had passed away the other day, have known him, his wife and 3 children for over 35 years. They were neighbours right behind us for a while then our Optimist club functions, dances etc.. and them visiting my restaurant frequently as well. Even his Daughter Paula worked there with me for a while too. And she even baby sat daughter #2. Sad to see him go. Glad we were here to visit with family and relive so many memories with them.
As we were getting ready to go knew it was hot and this was our outside temperature . Good thing the funeral home is air-conditioned.
yup it is getting hot in the shade!
this is 38 C
We got home just after 4:30 and the first thing into our swim suits and hop in the pool, oh my this is awesome. Water temp is very nice 79 F and crystal clear.
just me and my mermaid splashing around
Having cooled off nicely back home to whip up a salad and quickly grill a couple of smoked pork loin chops.
just about 2 minutes a side  so tasty and tender  we do love these chops.
take the bones away about 4-5 ounces of meat
sure did the trick tonight
Then last night just before heading inside I whipped down the road and caught another interesting sunset. We don't get them here with trees right to the west of us.
Another day getting things taken care of, and still enjoying this wonderful hot summer weather. Feels like a bit later we will fire up our generator again to run both of our a/cs  and cool down inside . before we call it a night.
Glad that you dropped by for a peek and hope you are enjoying this hot weather as much as we are.

clic a pic to enlarge it
Milder again last night more windows open and at 5am 52F (11C) this is wonderful. Not a great sunrise but by 7 am the sun was shining and warming up very nicely. I got a short walkabout around the block then took a wonderful country drive just enjoying the peaceful back roads.
our morning view
a nice walk down the road
back home again
love the quiet country drives
Then a walk  down the road towards the river, on a beautiful Sunday morning.
small creek bubbling
looking north on the Ninth  river beside River road
Puttering around for a while outside it was actually a very warm sunny day 67F  (19C), then at 11:30 we heading east on HWY 401 and North of Toronto ON HWY 400, about a 90 minute drive. When we left Plattsville. For another visitation (Celebration Of Life) for the mother of a lifelong friend of mine Jim Kelly.  We went to public and high school together, worked on cars and motorcycles,  chased girls in our teenage years So many memories we made together, his mother baking us cookies what a wonderful lady she was played games at their house etc. I am also the God Father to his son Adam. We still manage to keep in touch with him over the years on occasions not nearly enough though. We will have to try more often than weddings and funerals. Though Jim did come for a visit to see us last summer
heading North highway 400 Passing Canada's Wonderfland
We left the Celebration of life  just after 3 pm, nice to see Jim and his family there again it has been so long also a few other people from probably 40/50 years ago wow, has it been that long? We just chatted, snacked and enjoyed a celebration of her life. All the pictures and I remember so many of them as well.
From there we headed to The Galt Arena for 5:30 to watch Grandson # 4 play another game in his hockey tryouts for major AA peewee teams. Always good hockey at this level.
We got there 5 minutes late just missing him score the first goal of the game, darn.
we did get some nice smiles from Grandaughter #3
as we always do
this be him  #8 yellow socks, black uniform
he skated hard and had a good game.
the teams shaking hands after the game
here we are waiting outside for him to get changed
good night guys see you soon.
That was our day getting things taken care of. 4 hours of driving , visitations,  family time and a hockey game. Home by 7:30 still 64F, we enjoyed this beautiful weather outside. Post this blog and read for a while. loving this weather.
Oh and because of this wonderful spring day I managed to catch a beautiful sunset. at 8:05 pm just drove down the road about 1/4 of a mile and there it was.
across the river
and a cross the fields.
A perfect ending to a day full of mixed feelings. from the sadness of the passing of Jim;'s Mom to the happiness of spending some time with family, the grands and a hockey game.
Thanks for dropping by to our lifestyle that we love. And hope y'all had a wonderful spring day wherever you may be.
