Where are we today ?

Was a very warm night and gonna be a nice sunny day, but windy. No problem got out for a nice walkabout as the sun was rising. Then at 7:30 am I headed into Benson to get an oil change on our car, at the Super Lube Express .And while there they checked out the thumping in the font end of our car. And just what I thought the sway bar needs to be replaced, kinda worn out. Considering this Saturn is 16 years old and over 500,00 kms (310,00 miles) on it not too bad. No major repairs and still runs like a charm.
heading back home to Quail Ridge |
nice walking to the back area, some nice seasonal sites here |
gotta love thus Retro Trailer back here |
While outside enjoying the sunshine and reading a couple walked by we met the other day walking with Sandy. And Suzie got a doggie fix. They are from the UP where Tom and Deb are from Apparently they live just down the road and think they go to the same church. They have seen their Stinger B. Now to ask me their names again? But their dog is Scoby do! Not a chance. sorry this old brain does not remember names, never has.A dog's name though.
doggie fix for Suzie Scooby do |
crunchy. tasty healthy and addictive |
a wonderful warm sunny day |
we seen most the day here outside , out of the wind enjoying our reading between walks |
Soon time for supper, for a treat tonight gonna grill some of these smoked sausage to go with a Mexican rice that I found in the cupboard and finish the rest of our very tasty fresh asparagus.
not long on the Q, they are smoked |
this hit the spot, very tasty and enough leftovers for a light lunch |
Supper done and I managed to catch a bit of a nice desert sunset |
Gonna hang out here till we get the part for Suzie's computer and get it fixed. Who knows how long that will be, hope fully we can get outta here early next week. We can stay here just need to move sites, no problem. Our plans are written in chalk anyway we still have over a month to get back home.
Wannna thank you for stopping by and hope you had a wonderful day as well.

Where have we been this winter ?
Love that retro trailer!! Very nice!!
ReplyDeleteSnow??? Oh no!!! Glad it's not going to linger very long!! Take care!!
It is a nice looking trailer they are becoming popular. It may not snow, that's what we hoping anyway still too warm right now.
DeleteThose Saturns are amazing cars. I had two of them. I wish they still made em!
ReplyDeleteHope the snow doesn't materialize. We had some rain in Q today and the low will be below zero. Don't think it will snow though. I'm getting RV Lifestyles to install a heater just like yours! Do you want the commission? :-)
They are wonderful cars I think they made them too good. Not cold enough right now to snow so we may be ok.
DeleteEnjoy your heater I am sire you will really love it, no commission just enjoy !
Kale? I have it in our garden and yet have to find a way to make it palatable other than in a smoothie! It'll be nice to have your Saturn back 100%, does it log mileage while being towed? 300k seems like a lot of miles. If you need some more kale let me know :)
ReplyDeleteThe kale is actually pretty good like this, your should try it, also nice topping for our salads.
DeleteIt does not log while towing have actually driven it 160,000 miles towed the rest, everything else gets the wear except the engine
Sounds like you're getting things wrapped up for the start of your homeward trek. Reminds me I should get an oil change on the Jeep while I'm close to a big city.
ReplyDeleteThe weather sure has been fickle the last week or so. But, I think the warm weather is just around the corner.
Yes Doug we are on our way getting your jeep serviced is a good idea.
DeleteWe will be looking around some corners for nicer weather.
Well if you have to be "stuck" somewhere waiting on a computer part that is not a bad area to be in. Hope the snow does not materialize. We did see some along the side of the road when we drove up to Julian on Sunday and that is as close as we care to get to it.
ReplyDeleteOkay, you do know that Tom and I are now curious as to who it was from the UP but, since, I have the same name remembrance problem...I understand not remembering their names. Stay warm.
No problem staying here for us, anyway just have to move campsites.
DeleteI don't mind seeing remnants of snow just not too much of it, lol...
If I see them again I will try and get their names and write it down.
No snow here, but lots of rain and it's pretty chilly!
ReplyDeleteI hate it when those tall beauties fall over. They just don't have the root system to support the height.
No snow here either just a light rain, that's ok.
DeleteIt is sad to see them topple over this one was so tall too.
Thanks for the Kale recipe, gonna give it a try. Always looking for healthy alternatives. Enjoy the rest of your stay and safe travels. 😀
ReplyDeleteThanks guys sad to be leaving the southwest, hopefully we be back next year.
DeleteI think you would enjoy the Kale chips, don't like Kale but this is tasty.
Might have to try the kale chips....you know Bill.
ReplyDeleteSnow this morning but nothing that will last.
glad you found a spot out of the wind.
Think you would like these a tasty alternative snack.
DeleteWe did find a nice spot to enjoy the sunshine. The snow fluffies did not stay on the ground here and that is just fine.
http://arizonaoddities.com/2014/06/how-often-does-a-century-plant-bloom/
ReplyDeleteThanks for the information on the Century Plant.
DeleteNot good to see your wheel passing you on the highway, good catch on the car's needed repairs. Money well spent. :c)
ReplyDeleteThe noise was bothering me and I figured I knew what it was and wanted it checked by people we trust. Things do wear out and it is either repair or replace . would much rather repair a good vehicle.
DeleteGlad you got the car fixed. Always nice to have those things completed in a timely fashion.
ReplyDeleteHopefully no snow fell, it's too early to think about that issue!!! We'll be thinking about it soon enough when mid March rolls around won't we?
Enjoy your stay there.
Nice to get the car fixed and we did het some snow on Wed, but did t=not stay.
DeleteHate car troubles. We leave our Jeep in Washington. It's almost at 200K. That's a lot of good miles!
ReplyDeleteThe fix was pretty quick and reasonable , but we do need to take a car with us behind our house.
