Where are we today ?

A cooler, windy, overcast beginning to our last day here. 60 f so not too bad for my first walkabout of the day, shortly after 7 am. Then at 8:15 I headed out for a few grocery supplies. Picked up a couple of good deals a nice beef rump roast 1/2 price ($6.01) and 2 nice size lobster tails for $7:98 (regular $35:98) so I saved more than I spent. Gotta ove those kinda shopping days. Then at 11:30 we headed over to the clubhouse for this seminar on Holdings tanks for RV's and of course the free lunch. We can learn about our holding tanks and a bonus free lunch as well. Of course its's a sales presentation, but its a yucky very windy day out so why not? The seminar was very interesting and informative well worth going to and lunch was a bonus.
interesting seminar on holding tanks and the free lunch a bonus! |
a tasty free lunch hit the spot |
Back home by 2 pm and puttered around for a bit checked tire pressures and stored our Weber Q for travel in the morning. The wind never did let up all day and there was even small white caps on the river. So I dumped our sewage and stored our hoses just so I don't have to do that in the morning, Though no big rush to arrive tomorrow but prefer sooner than later. And we even enjoyed reading for a while inside, just too windy to enjoy sitting out there and no place that worked out of the wind and in the sun, even though it was 70 F the wind was chilly.
small whitecaps on the river |
pretty quiet in the beach |
the skies like this most all day |
very tasty and reasonable |
right across from us |

I guess they checked out at the office and heading back home soon must be off duty now. |
just taking their time hame before dark, so nice to see them again |
left turn past the Tiki Bar and pools, heading to the exit I presume |
the sunset peeked through just for a short time |
Glad that you stopped by and thanks for taking the time to give us a read.

Where have we been this winter ?
The burros have to be a fun addition. I could use your sales presentation - my sensors are often incorrect. Be nice to have them accurate! Safe travels as you begin your return trip.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeff.
DeleteThe burros do make it fun here. We could use the cleaning as well, our sensors have never worked properly and not willing to spend the cash to fix it.
Wow, such a quick change in the weather. It always amazes me how much less we spend on groceries in in the US than in Canada.
ReplyDeleteGeorge would you perhaps consider doing a mini post on what your learned at that holding tank seminar many of us could benefit from it. We did do a cleaning with some company ( $$ ) two years ago in Q but it lasted all of a few weeks in cleaning the sensors
It was a quick change but was expected. The winter here in the USA we save so much on camping, food, fuel and alcohol that it almost pays for our trip.
DeleteNot much to tell really they pressure wash your tanks real clean then you use lots of water to flush And their probiotic additive to keep you tank scale from building up again. This is geared mostly to the extreme hard water here in the south west and vey hot climate. Also also a Water softener to to help save your tanks.
Sounds like an appetizing presentation just before lunch. Hope the guy cleaning the tanks wasn't cooking as well!
ReplyDeleteThose burros look tired. All with their heads hanging down. Must have been a hard shift at work!
Travel safe you guys.
Thanks guys.
DeleteIt was a tasty lunch and the presentation interesting. His wife did the cooking.
I guess they must have had a hard work day from the looks of them.
Great to have the will power to say no on those sales presentation. Some of them use a lot of pressure.
ReplyDeleteNeat the Burros walk right through the park. They weren't in a hurry.
That sunset photo is a keeper. Have a safe trip.
Thanks Doug, easy to say know for me most of the time no problem
DeleteThe burros just walk right through the park, after all they are the natives here it is their land.
I agree the burro's sure did look tired. But what fun to have them wandering around. Glad you enjoyed your stay at this great park
ReplyDeleteSafe travels
Thank Jo it is fun to have them wander about here and we had a great time here at this park , but time to move on down the road.
DeleteYou and Suzie have had a couple of nice days. Champagne breakfast, free lunch, and cute wild burros to watch roam. Great pictures of the park the beach area looks beautiful and peaceful. Really liked your sunset picture.
ReplyDeleteSafe Travels as you move down the road.
Thanks guys we sure will, just taking our time.
DeleteWe sure did have a fun time here at this park we will come back again at some point I am sure it os a wonderful spot
Sorry we won't cross paths again this year, safe travels home.
ReplyDeleteYeah I was hoping we would but at least we got to visit with guys a few times this year always enjoy your company. Until the next time.
DeleteBeing an old horse woman, I just love the burro buddy pictures.
ReplyDeleteI am just an old man but love them too. Just amazing to watch them.
DeleteThe lunch looked good. The presentation sounded interesting but a little process seemed a little pricey.
ReplyDeleteLove the burro's. They look so ho hum with the all of the excitement they must generate while passing through.
Looked like water puddles in a couple of those photos. Cold, chilly everywhere I think. Saddle Mountain is expecting rain on Wednesday according to the weather folks. Not sure we'll get any but who knows.
We too are slowly starting east with a number of days in a few spots it won't take long to use up those few remaining weeks we've got left.
Safe travels.
The lunch was tasty and the process can take 2 hours or more depending on how bad you tanks are. the burros are pretty calm and animals just taking their time.
DeleteThe water was actually by the pool area I think they hosed down the road, we had no rain at all.
It is nice to slowly move along taking our time and exploring.
I don't think any sensors ever work correctly. None have in anything we've owned. Oh well..you got a free lunch and it looked good too. Dinner looked wonderful as always and sounds like some great deals at the grocery store. That sunset picture is awesome! Travel safe!
ReplyDeletethanks so much guys. we don't worry about the sensors. the free lunch an information was interesting.
DeleteIr was a wonderful day all around , not to get back on the road again, yippee!
I didn't think there really was such a thing as a free lunch. Good thing you got a picture of one for us all to see! :cD
ReplyDeleteIt was free and an interesting presentation as well.
DeleteLooks like a great day for sure. Would have liked to attend the presentation, we continue to have challenges with smell coming from our holding tanks. I’ve tried everything that I can think of, including flushing gallons of water through the tanks, much worse during the summertime. Was hoping to connect with you guys this year, safe travels home.
ReplyDeleteWe were hoping to meet up with you guys as well. maybe another time. We use Happy Camper in our holding tanks and works wonderfully. And after you dump your tanks add the Happy Camper and about a gallon of water in both tanks. ALSO add a cup or 2 of water to each sink and shower. when you dumb the tanks the water in the traps usually gets siphoned out allowing the sewer smell inside you coach, this works great for us.
DeleteI am using Ridex from Walmart in my tanks and it cost about $10 per year. (works amazingly well)
ReplyDeleteWe are Happy with Happy Camper now for $35.00 a year no smell and and cleans the tanks as well.
DeleteLots of cleanup after those mules!
ReplyDeleteYes there sure would be.
