Where are we today ?

A real great sleep last night windows open with the cool fresh air was wonderful. Got up and was 28F (-2C) outside frost on the car. 47F inside at 5 am. But just fired up our Blue Flame heater and in no time a comfortable 72f inside. I began boiling the chicken bones from last night to make a nice broth for a pot of soup today.
After a nice sunrise I headed out for a refreshing walkabout enjoying the cool morning air and warming sunshine. Gonna be a pretty nice day from the looks of it. And catch a few nice morning views.

love the cactus garden they have here |
|
enjoying the quiet roads around the campground |
About 9 am I drained the chicken broth, cleaned the bones and added stuff to the soup. It is never the same twice. Soup is so easy, add what you like, clean out the fridge spices and ingredients that you like and you can can have some very tasty meals. Today I added all the stuff, onions, celery, carrots, broccoli, asparagus, fresh garlic, mushrooms some dried veggies we like and the egg noodles we enjoy.
Then of course we enjoyed a bowl of soup for lunch and enough for a few more lunches as well. Then I whipped around the corner to fill our 5 gallon jug with RO water only $1.00 for 5 gallons , always a good deal here in the southwest.

tasty homemade chicken noodle soup |
We were running low on cash and no bank machine around, but the Why Not store will give us $40.00 cash back with a small purchase. So a loaf of bread that was needed we have some cash. Back to the campground bought a roll of quarters for laundry we plan to do tomorrow,

around the corner to the Community Building,
for 5 gallons of RO water
only $1:00 for 5 gallons nice and handy |
Now to enjoy our e-readers outside on this sunny warm day. Even though only 65F we found a spot in front of our rig out of the SW breeze (only 8mph) it was quite comfortable to spend an afternoon outside with my honey, in the fresh air. even chat with a few people that walked on by.

think a plane was doing donuts in the sky? |
|
nice and quiet here now lots of space |
A bit later a couple from British Columbia Canada pull in looking for the prefect campsite. Guess last time they were here it is where we are . Sorry guys you left, all spots first come first served.
|
this couple from BC have a nice Winnebago tribute |
|
doggie fix for Suzie today as well |
Soon time to fire up our Weber Q . Tonight a couple of burgers. Turkey Burger for Suzie and a Chirozo burger for me. I picked up a few pounds of Chirozo at Olsons in Ajo the other day and made up a bunch of burgers just for me. Love the spicy taste of these and if I am careful will have enough burgers until next winter

the sunset is beginning so time to get supper going |

Where have we been this winter ?
I love home made chicken soup and have a few serving sized bowls in the freezer also veggie soup too. Glad of it with this cold spell and another one on the way by Sunday or Monday.
ReplyDeleteNever thought to make a Chorizo burger sounds good.
Homemade soup is always good.I love it !
DeleteWe have had a very warm winter so a bit of cool won't hurt..
The Chorizo makes a very tasty burger I love them.
Beautiful sunrise and sunset pictures. Sounds like a perfectly wonderful day spent just enjoying life.
ReplyDeleteThanks Guys it was a very nice day !
DeleteFantastic sunset!!! That's worth waiting all day to see.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great day. That little cactus garden is so cute.
Enjoy the rest of your stay.
Thanks Deb. it was a very nice day just enjoying it here.
DeleteFor some reason I'm not a soup eater. Like Chinese food, I'm always heading back to the fridge for more because I never feel full.
ReplyDeleteEnglish muffins for a burger? Never thought of that ... what a great idea!
I like a homemade hearty soup seems to do the trick for me. Then I spice it up for myself and seems to do the trick.
DeleteWe like the english muffins so much we can do with them they great toasted with peanut butter and honey, or a burger, mini pizzas, or egg mcmuffins.
And not as filling as a burger bun.
This weather is crazy - you are where it is supposed to be warm and should be cold here. 68F here this morning going to near 80 - about 20* above normal - this weather is crazy.
ReplyDeleteYes Larry I agree it is crazy, we had the heat wave all winter now sporing coming its getting cold!
DeleteWe have been eating English Muffins with any kind of burger for years. Sooo much better than the usual type of bun, isn't it. This winter we all have to agree that the weather is not as we would have expected. It looks like the cold temps you are experiencing will come and visit us here too next week. We'll be ready ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe English muffins are wonderful and so versatile.
DeleteEnjoy the warm weather while you have it we sure have been so far this winter.
Hopefully not too many more cool 'frosty' mornings but as long as the sun appears, we are happy.
ReplyDeleteYour soup will keep your tummies warm for a few days. I love my soup!
Enjoy the warm days, George!
As long as the sun is shining all is good here.
DeleteNothing quite like a homemade soup anytime, but especially with this cooler weather.
Luckily we didn't get that cold but it seems that the Dry Air has more bite then the High Humid Air back home.
ReplyDeleteNice looking day in a peaceful area.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
It was still very nice here regardless at least we know when the sun come out it will warm up. We still prefer this to the cold humid back home. We love it here.
DeleteYour soup looks so good especially in these cold temps! Hopefully it warms up to the temps you enjoy most while your'e there. burgers look great too..we love english muffins with them too.
ReplyDeleteThanks guys, homemade soup is good anytime in my books. It may be cool but with the sunshine it is wonderful here. Burger were wonderful too especially with the English muffins.
