After my walkouts done about 8:30 this morning into Ajo for a few food stuffs that we need. And while in town enjoyed quite a few murals that are painted on the buildings here. Really enjoy this quirky town for what it is.
This one below by the bakery in town.
Back to home dirt we enjoyed a light tasty lunch then more walkabouts exploring some more of this campground .
|
at the clubhouse they have lots and lots of books for those that want to exchange. |
|

|
even have a computer room and printer to use as well |
|
really enjoy the wide open spaces here |
On a another walkabout I passed by the lady with the white van, That was camped behind us in Quartzsite. She is from Colorado her name Michelle, very nice to talk to.. She stayed at Imperial dam for a while as well and was spotted there by
Ken and Shirley. she liked it there because of the showers. I asked her about the big green chair she had and said she had rented some storage in Yuma to make a bit more room in her van. She really likes it here more facilities, and loves the views. Also trying to organize her van and setting up a bed inside, with some plywood she picked up.
Where is she and her dog going from here? She thinks towards Tucson. I wished her safe travels. Maybe see here on the road again.
|
Wishing Michelle good luck and safe travels |
Now to just hang out and enjoy our e-readers, supposed to be 72 F today but actually got to 80 F in the shade, With the wind today (25MPH) it was actually quite comfortable in the sun.

Where have we been this winter ?
We visited Ajo for the first time this trip, and I too, took lots of photos of the murals. Such a fun quirky place. We would like to go back.
ReplyDeleteWe have been here a few times now and really enjoy it here. Glad you made it here.
DeleteThe clouds add some nice texture to the blue of the sky, must add some interesting views to your walkabouts too. But the clouds sure bring out the colors of the sunrise and sunset. But the winds?, you need a kite!
ReplyDeleteThe clouds do make the skies interesting and add texture. Makes the views different everytime..,.I thought about a kite but thats about it, Used to fly them for my kids when they were small . More fun with kids.
DeleteThat is the largest book selection I've seen anywhere! Looks like good pickings. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the info on the White van lady. Maybe she should use her storage unit more while she makes a bed.
Interesting story, she certainly seemed pleasant enough the few times we talked to her.
Ajo is a place we have yet to visit.
It is a huge book selection you would have lots to choose from here. She is trying to organize the van to fit it all inside,
DeleteWe enjoy it here a nice quiet quirky town in the middle of nowhere.
Like Patsy wrote, thank you for sharing the information about the White Van lady, Michelle. We figured she kept taking everything out so she could use the inside and was trying to organize. As long as she is enjoying the journey that is what counts. Great last picture of the sunset's afterglow.
ReplyDeleteShe is enjoying the warm weather and travelling about checking out places and deciding where to hang her hat.
DeleteI thought the afterglow was very nice as well thanks.
Love the wall art. So great that you are taking so many photos to share with us.
ReplyDeleteThe wall art is nice to see, I am sure you have seen a lot of it travelling through the area.
DeleteChicken skin looks just right - you have become a pro cook on your grill.
ReplyDeleteThanks Larry the skin was perfectly crispy just like it should be and the chicken moist.
DeleteGood job getting the scoop on Michelle. She is quite the worker and now building a bed. Those murals are amazing, the one with the animals looks a little scary. Dinner looked wonderful! 77 cents a lb for asparagus is unheard of, I'd be eating it daily at that price! The book and video selection is amazing! Beautiful sunset :)
ReplyDeleteWas nice top chat with here for a bit.
DeleteThe Mural with the animals was about the Movie filmed there in 1972 A science fiction horror about man eating rabbits.
We eating lots of asparagus right now love it !
Really enjoying it here, lots of room.
Those are some great murals. I always wonder who painted them.
ReplyDeleteThey are wonderful all the murals are signed in the bottom right corner.
DeleteThe aspargus us grown close to us, near Caborca. We are in Puerto Penasco. There are fields and fields of asparagus!
ReplyDeleteThis is probably where it came from pretty close to here and a product of Mexico.
DeleteGreat pictures. Love those murals. The town is so quirky and the murals fit right in!!! Some amazing artists have contributed to the towns beauty. I've noticed a number of towns in the USA have murals throughout their streets. I often wonder about the inpiration behind certain murals. They are definitely a labour of love.
ReplyDeleteThey have a fantastic selection of books. You leave yours on the table and someone puts them away, they have a system in place to keep certain books together. We exchanged about 20 books while we were there. Some really good authors, some more obscure but still good reading. If we could get cell reception we'd be back.
I'm glad the lady in the white van is getting organized. It's no fun having to move such a mound of stuff each time she moves the van. That's heavy, hot, hard work to do so often. Congrats to her for her efforts!!
Keep on enjoying your time at Coyote Howls!!!
The murals are amazing really love them here. And they do fit right in as well.
DeleteToo bad that you could not get reception here our service works fine.
Michelle it getting it together and more organized now.
We will just keep on enjoying it here thanks.
I like Arizona. Have been there several times and always enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteWe love it too that's why we keep coming back !
