What a great way to begin the last long weekend of the summer!
Well we have been feeling like summer is on its way out, but today it came back with a vengeance. When we got up this morning it was quite warm and humid and the temperature just kept climbing. We had our coffees and computing done, then got our extra lawn chairs and tables out. My daughter, son-in-law and three grandchildren are coming for a day visit. They arrived just before noon and the resort is beginning to fill up. Trailers are arriving in a steady stream to enjoy the hot weather.
put on the sunscreen and stay in the shade
When the kids arrived I made some chicken quesadillas on our Weber grill for a tasty lunch, play in the playground for a bit, then we are all off to the pools to cool down. The temperature with humidity is about 46c (110f) and the pool was the place to be.
playing in the huge tires
we are all in the indoor pool
then the outdoor pool, the water is much cooler!
After a couple hours in the pools (its getting crowded now), we are back on site to find a shady spot with a bit of a breeze, cool beverages, and playing some non physical games (coloring, cars and dinosaurs) and chatting for a while. Too hot to do much else, but still enjoying it.
About 5 pm I fired up our Weber again for supper, hamburgers, corn on the cob, potato salad and coleslaw, a perfect meal for a great summer camping day.
picnic supper
After supper playing abit more, its cooling down slightly, then about 7 o'clock the kids are getting ready to head out to Sarnia about 35 minutes away (Brians parents) where they will spend the night and saturday. After they left we tidied up a bit, turned on the air conditioner in the coach its still 95f (36c) there. Then we relaxed with our books outside for while until it got too dark, then inside for a bit of tv before calling at a great day with our grandchildren.
What a wonderful day! I'm headed to Balsam after work this evening for a bit of R & R. Big news, Robynn bought a house, she'd moving out in just after Thanksgiving...... You back at Galvin Bay at all before you head away?
