Thurs. May 5th 2011, Rock Glen Resort, and warmer weather.

Join us as we travel North America in our
Holiday Rambler Vacationer, since August 2006

We were up early as usual and watched the sunrise across the fields and a clear blue sky, everything warming and drying up. Coffees, computing a final trip to Plattsville for the morning visit and we are packed up and on the road by 9:30.
nice country drive
todays journey
We start on a nice country road, dry, smooth, hard packed dirt for the first 10 minutes. Rolling hills small towns and villages, passing green fields, fresh cut grass, a few farmers planting crops, trees and orchards budding and getting ready for the hot sunny days. Just as we are! Spring is in the air today.

Feels like home
Ok now we are here after a relaxing country drive for one and one half hours, 102 kms (60miles). We pulled in, found our favourite site and began setting up at 11am.  The first 10 minute job took an hour, Gary dropped by to welcome us back and chat. Then I stopped at the office for a gate card and chatted with Rob the owner/manager and Justin/ sales both welcoming us back for about an hour.  Then a quick trip to the Arkona market for a loaf of fresh baked french bread to make lunch.

Lunch is done, its so nice out , shorts and t-shirt and putter about enjoying the rays. I set up our satellite dish, awning, patio mat, BBQ and lawn chairs, stopping frequently chatting with more friendly faces welcoming us back again and sharing our varied winter experiences, some went south, some stayed here, some in the houses, some had operations, and a few passed away, all part of the life cycle.

all set up
finally relax with a book
Then we finally got to relax with our books for a bit, then I fired up the barbie and cooked some potatoes in foil with onions, bbq'd smoked pork chops, steamed broccoli and garlic bread w/cheese for supper.
tasty supper
Now after supper it was still nice warm and sunny, (thats why we like this site), so back outside to read and chat again with a few more neighbours as they strolled by until 8:30pm (almost too dark to read now).
a nice warm evening
Now after such a wonderful sunny warm day we feel recharged once again, with hopefully many more to come soon!
