Not yet? Spring is not yet here, still rainy, cold, damp, overcast and muddy everywhere here at the farm. Really now enough is enough, let's get on with the nice weather before we head south again (only 169 days to go). Morning coffees, computing an early morning trip into town to see what's new in the world of Plattsville. Nothing new and exciting there, checking with another fulltime rver , on his summer plans, they are "Winter Texans". While watching him tease (Jake) the guard dog? with a styrofoam cup.

Ma and Suzie |
So many choices but we did figure it out, Suzie had a ham, egg with homfries, breakfast and a dish of hot apples and cinnamon, Ma had her favourite western sandwich and I had a craving for their smoked meat on rye, with a huge dill pickle, coleslaw and fries.

Get a load of this monster of a sandwich! That's my breakfast, lunch and supper today all in one. It really brought back memories of the great corned beef sandwiches that I used get from a small Deli Counter on Bay St in Toronto, (Colemans Deli) across from the Bus Terminal where I worked from 1967 to 1969 before transferring to the Kitchener Terminal.
After lunch took ma back home, had a nice visit there, then back to the farm, still raining all the while. We puttered around a bit, computing etc, then went in to visit with Sandy and Dennis for a bit while they had a roast beef supper, she had cooked tonight. We had a small sample of roast beef and gravy, not really hungry but it was tasty, thanks Sam. Then its getting late and still rainy so a bit of tv before calling it a night.
The weather forecast for Tues. looks good sunshine, a bit of rain, and then 2 pm "SNOW" !! Hey this is May. The weatherman has been wrong before, lets hope so again.

Now that is a sandwich!!! Here in Kelowna we are having our 3rd sunny day since April 8th with rain forecast for the next week. The farmers here are becoming concerned as are the vineyard owners.
ReplyDeleteYes it was sure a meal we could easily have shared it! Sunny so far today and is helping, hope it keeps up.
