A deal on new tires. lawn mowing and a great day

     Much cooler overnight and again to day temps only about 70 F and overcast pretty well any day. Got a phone call yesterday that the tires I ordered for the car are in so shortly after 8nam I headed to the Canadian Tire in Stratford to pick them up really good deal on sale, only $55.00 each the same tires I have always bought for the car. I only needed 2 this year will replace the other 2 next year maybe. We still use our Canadian Tire Points for the car tires and other items there. I usually replace 2 tires every 3 years and have never once had to pay for them in the last 13 years.
      I dropped the tires off at Suzie's brothers for a bit of a visit we will have them installed before we head south this fall. Picked up our mail and home for lunch shortly after 10:30 am.
     I sat down and checked my emails and got a video from a good friend Jim Mohl in Alberta. Jim, I love it ! says it all about our lifestyle and getting older. If you can and this video works for you it sure says it all.  Like a Patsy Cline tune with the words this lady sings really suits our lifestyle "We Fall to pieces" check it out it is a hoot.

        That taken are of I hopped on the mower for 90 minutes to get some of the yard mowed while it was much cooler. All around the house, front yard, play yard and pool area. Possibly tomorrow I with finish the rest of the 5 acres about 2 hours and will all be done once again.

      That was done we relaxed outside for a bit and decided the perfect day to finish polishing and waxing the top part of our coach while it was cooler and overcast, and can now return John's ladder, A bit more than 30 minutes and that was taken care of. Just in time for Happy Hour with my honey.

I start with a couple of boneless pork chops 

pound them down to very thin

breaded and spiced like the recipe says

mushrooms and onions sautéed

• quick and easy fry add the toppings cheese and salsa

on to a fresh kaiser bun

that was our very filling and tasty meal tonight

        Now to relax outside in the shade on a very warm quiet evening , finish this posting and enjoy  some more reading, . just because we can.

 Where have we been this Summer ?

Summer is still hanging in and loving it. Finally found a Turkey this morning on sale.

Where are we today ?

     A pretty nice night for sleeping  a bit of rain but the windows open with our window awnings down sure was wonderful. Got my coffee done and emails checked then at 8 am I headed into Kitchener in search of Frozen Turkeys on sale. The No Frills in New hamburg were sold out, but had at least 2 stores to check out there. Ok The first one I went to had what I wanted a 16 lb Turkey at .95 cents a lb. Perfect for our Canadian Thanksgiving meal with my 3 kids, spouses and 7 grands on Oct 9th. I said I would cook the turkey and bring gravy and fresh cranberry/orange sauce. So now that is taken care of. Still have to find cranberries but lotsa time for that.
        But also while I was in Kitchener around the corner was a Canadian Tire store that I need to stop at. Pick up one new tire for the car , I bought 2 new ones last year and one replaced free under warranty was time for this one now. But like always we had enough Canadian tire points to pay for this tire, so no cost to us. We do like free!

      Back home here before 10 am so Suzie took our Turkey to store in her brother's freezer for a couple of weeks and pick up the little mail that might be there.
      A nice light lunch as usual apple, banana, and a small bowl of bean soup did the trick. Then I headed back to hop the mower for about 90 minutes to cut the rear  2.5 acres of the yard here. I will finish the front part tomorrow and will probably be the last time this year for me.

      This all done just before 2 pm so now I can relax in the shade with Suzie and get right back into my page turner book The Fix by David Baldacci.

       Now about 4:30 I preheated our Weber Q, whipped up a salad and grilled a Turkey Breast. 35 minutes later done to perfection. Crispy on the outside and so moist and tender. Of course lotsa leftovers and more bones to go into a pot of soup sometime this week, Our freezer is getting full of bones gotta use them up. An we will be outta homemade soup soon.

       Such a wonderful relaxing day and now outside enjoying more of this warm weather at 7:30pm still in the mid 70's F , no problem here thats for sure.

       Back to enjoying our reading and eventually head on inside for the night.

Where have we been this summer ?

A real deal on new tires for our coach, and relocated to a campground with full hookups again. Just in time for the heat wave.

        Now to start a new summer day.We have been here about a week or so, time for us to move in down the road, we do get that hitch itch very often. No rush today we have a plan. Walkabouts town. A few groceries picked up, secure the coach and head on out after an early lunch to Stratford. Fuelled the coach, over to the Stratford sewage station for a FREE rv dump. Both our sewage tanks are full after 14 days dry camping.
         Next stop Honey wood tire in Stratford. Here we are having 4 new tires installed on the rear of our coach. Mike Walsh is the contact man here and has always got us good deals on tires for our coach. Contacted him in May this spring looking for a deal on good tires for our our coach. We would like Michelin tires but at about $600.00 a tire thought that was pricey (ours are 7 years old but still in good shape).  He could get us BFG tires that are made by Michelin (in France) for $325.00 CND each, but they were on back order. No rush just before the fall is good. Is good for us. He called us a couple weeks ago and the tires are in 19.5 RV tires.
        The tires were in and we could have them installed today on our way to Rock Glen resort in Arkona. Good deal. I pulled in there  about 1 pm and he set to work doing the manual labor. Nice to see a pro do it the right way. All done, balanced and installed by 2:15 pm . AND he gave us $50.00 for each of our old tires, Real bonus! They are 7 years old lots tread but no sidewall cracking. Mainly because we move our coach year round every week or two, do not cover them AND no tire shine stuff on them.

       We got all this done stopped to fill our propane and arrived at Rock glen resort at 4 pm ( later than we like). It was gettng hot but we were all set up (satellite dish included ) by 5 o'clock. Time for a cold beer! Relax a bit.

        Relaxing for bit then Tucker and his MUM stopped by for a visit and Suzie got her doggie fix. 

     A nice visit while I grilled a couple turkey burgers from Hayter's Turkey farm with  cranberry and spinach. Suzie wanted nothing else for supper and was just fine with me.

    What a great day, got stuff done, moved on down the road, and we have now have full hookups for a couple weeks. It will come in handy with the major heat wave expected here for the next week or so. With humidity will feel like 104f. Now we can turn on or AC if needed. plus we really like free camping (no overnight fees) with our membership.

Relocating, a great deal on tires and another doggie fix for Suzie.

        This morning we heading out, back to Plattsville ( Camp Awesome for a week). A nice country drive about 90 minutes.

        We had stopped here in Stratford a couple weeks ago to get a price on 2 Michelin tires for the front of our coach they 7 years old now. Did not like the price, more than double what we paid last time. So called Mike Walsh  Back at Honeywood tires in Stratford Ontario, there on Monday and he said he has 2 BF Goodrich tires for our coach.  Only 300 miles on them, no repairs and no problems with them. And the DOT date is 0215, made this year by Michelin in France. Like the price and full warranty on them Saved $500.00 on these two tires. How does $650.00 sound (includes Install, balancing and new valve stems including taxes) compared to $1150.00 ? Sign us up we be there 11 am today. These tires came on a new truck and the guy said they were no good so he bought two new Michelins to replace them, ends up he had bent rims on his truck, he still has the same problem until he replaces the rims.
         Arrived there at 10:45 disconnected the car, made a bite for lunch and Suzie off to visit her mom in New Hamburg. 20 minutes away. Mike was ready for us and took us right away. The installer is very professional his 3rd Motor home today, all done in less than an hour. Love dealing with Mike  Walsh here, great service and excellent prices as well.

        As I was pulling out a dumptruck pulled in between the coaches for 8 new tires.

        Left here about noon in to Plattsville by 12:30 and set up camp here, Suzie arrived the same time as me too.

        Bonus for her the Dogs are here, Buddy and Molly so she gets to hang out with them brush them and take for a few runs out back. Suzie is in heaven!

      So quiet here love it.  Time for supper so fired op our Weber Q to grill a couple Venison Avocado burgers I made a while ago .Thanks to the venison gifted us from Pat and Norm at Galvin Bay resort.

      That was another productive day getting ready to hit the road in 3 weeks for a 7 month journey, so looking forward to it.
