Amazing hot fall day, Happy hour with new friends, then a thunderstorm cooled things down.

        Another great sleep windows open and at 6 am it  was 68F (20C) gonna be one more wonderfully hot day we are sure ready for. Started out at 7:30 for my first walkabout shorts and t shirt enjoying this sunny quiet morning. 1.5 miles in, walking the campground perfect !
      Such a beautiful day rather than running errands we are just going to putter around here a few more walkabouts, a light tasty lunch, chat with a few people around, (not many here) . Downloaded a few more free books from Book Bub, to add to our reading enjoyment.

     Relaxing out side right after lunch Paul was mowing the lawn here so moved our car and he did a great job on our site,

          Enjoyed some relaxing time in the shade on this very warm fall day 84F (feels like 99F) , but thunderstorms predicted for this afternoon.
          A bit later new friends joined us for an early happy hour outside to pick our brains again for more full time tips. They came over and shortly after 3 pm the rains began so we headed inside our coach and the conversation just flowed non stop.  Giving them some tips and ideas and what we like to do. None of this is gospel, take this information  and do what you want to do with it. With the rains and storm coming in we secured our awnings and Mark brought their dog Shilo to be with us, she was much better here than alone in their trailer.

   The conversation flowed until after 5 pm, wow where did the time go?  They headed home and I preheated our Weber Q to grill a pork loin roast for tonight supper, about 45 minutes was done to perfection 145 F internal temp to go with our usual salad.

    Still raining and more storms predicted tonight we will leave out awning secured  until the storm passes, hopefully tomorrow. After the rain the temp dropped from 84 F to 68 F really quick, looks like the heat wave is over with for now at least.
    That was actually a very wonderful warm day mostly until the rains began , but it was predicted and we were ready for it.
    Inside now after supper much cooler and still drizzling, Not a problem for us the weather is whats it is and always part of this amazing lifestyle we enjoy.

Getting a few things done, enjoying the amazing fall weather and chat with a few people.

    Another good nights sleep and up about 5:30 this morning 52F outside,  Just puttering around computing for a while then into Starthroy to pick up and HDMI cable to hook up Suzie's computer to our smart tv. Hooked that up and is it ever nice and can now view here computer on our 32 inch TV, That sure makes a wonderful computer monitor!
     Back home Suzie was chatting with new Neighbours Mark and Nichol . They are picking our brains (the little we have) about going fulltime and travelling in the south and membership parks. Has some questions about their shaw satellite dish, how to light the propane oven in their trailer etc....
     After lunch I headed down to the amazing fitness centre for a nice one hour work out. My finger is now almost like new again and ready for this much needed exercise. Then to relax out side on the wonderful very warm fall day. Sunny and a comfortable fall day at 75F back in shorts again , enjoying our page turners in the shade, sure was nice no complaints here..

        So quiet here  after the weekend, Our freinds Rob and Pat left early and later on Paul and Judy headed out as well. Will see this guys later this year or on down the road some where.

   After lunch I filled our 5 gallon jug of RO (reverse osmosis purified water) we use for drinking and making our coffees. At the corner store in town, this is the only water we drink for the last 13 plus years.

            After a quiet Happy hour, just the 2 of us we chatted for a while then, a bit later time to whip up supper, tonight a couple of shrimp burgers on English muffins with some seafood sauce I make so easy, ketchup, horseradish and lemon juice. perfect.

 Where have we been this Summer ?

So much rain, much warmer, and a fun happy hour meeting new people.

Where are we today ?

the falls are roaring as you can see

       We had lotsa rain and wind overnight until about 6 am today. But not so bad by 7 am a comfortable 48F (8C) headed out for my first walkabout around the park and across the road to Rock Glen Falls. We could hear the roaring of the roaring water right here and even inside our coach.

          A bit later took a drive to Forest for a few groceries and stopped at the reservation to gas up the car. A good price there $1.20 a litre ($4.53 a US Gallon) compared to $1.31 ($4.95 a US gallon) elsewhere.
        Before I left I took some twigs off our engine battery the robins are still making a nest, less the 2 hours latter lots more twigs, these guys just won't give up. Guess they are bird brains?

    After lunch a got a few more walkabouts done 3 miles so far today and found it quite warm. Got my chair out and enjoyed some wonderful reading outside. Look at the temperature below. And does feel like 75F (23C) gotta love it .

     Enjoyed this wonderful weather until 2:30 then time for Happy Hour at Ron and Loree's. Thats just fine inside their place and started to rain anyway. We were greeted by Freddie all excited as usual then he soon settles down once he has said Hello to everyone.

       3 more people joined us as well first was Dave we met before a couple of times, He has an amazing collection of kites, flies them and even goes to competitions.

     Also met another couple as well new to this park Eddie and Annette another supper friendly couple. I met Eddie the day we checked in while I was filling our coach with water.

      And as usual the conversation just flowed. Got to know each other better. and before we knew it was 4:30. Time for us to head home and whip up supper. Amazing how the time flies when we are having  fun.

      Back home for Supper I whipped up a salad and heated up some of our left over Lasagna  and froze that much again. 2 days in a row was enough for us. With the tortillas instead of noodles was not quite as filling but all the cheese I put in was like wow!

    After supper still a wonderful day so got our chairs out again. works on this posting and we read for a while. Just after 7 pm still 67 F out here and I am going to post this so I can get back into my page turner. Sunset not for over an hour yet and if we get one I will post it tomorrow.

Car show, hot weather and dart banquet fun.

           Just another wonderful day enjoying this weather. Summer  heat came back again. Did get a few nice walkabouts this morning around the campground in the fog and down the road.

           Down the road to check out the culvert construction and looks wonderful all done except for paving the road,.

   Then home by 8:30 my plan today was to make a pot of 15 Bean soup for tonights dart banquet. The turkey was done yesterday and reheated this afternoon, We do love this soup. Ingredients below plus the huge smoked pork hock that was boiled right in with the beans for a few hours.

     One trip down to the clubhouse I was walking in the front door and startled by this dove on the railing right beside me. It did not move , I set down my soup pot and took a picture, this was too cool.

     Then at noon I walked over to the conservation area (Rock Glen Falls) across the road to check out the car show today.  Always nice to check out the old classic cars especially when they are right across the road from us. Free admission today so why not?

        I enjoyed walking the trails and walkways back to the clearing where the car show is.

        Back in the clearing they have the cruising music playing and about 65 cars showed up today, on a nice hot summer Saturday afternoon.

     Now back home to relax in the shade reading , a perfect day for it.

what an awesome day it is

      A bit later this lady (can't remember her name) came by walking her puppies and stoped to give Suzie a doggie fix and they get a nice ear rub.

I got a walk by the pond and noticed the Lily pad and flower are gigantic !

     Then at  5 pm time to head down to the club house for a social hour with all the dart players over the summer. About 30 of us there and the dart club supplies the meat  ( 2 turkeys and 2 hams) I cooked one turkey and Kim and Mke the other one. The rest of the food pot luck.

          Then time to dig in I started with some salad and soup stuff.

then desert mini cheesecakes Dorothy made were awesome

      Next Gerry handed out cash prizes for the season, Suzie came in 3rd for highest out,12 bucks. Me I got 5 bucks just because I was there LOL...    No matter we all play darts for the fellowship and fun  times then at the end of the season a banquet social.

     Back home by 7:30 enjoying more of the very warm weather. Relaxing outside reading finishing this posting until 9 pm, Still 69F out side and no bugs, gotta love it. But time to call it a night inside to relax a bit more and soon call it a night.
