Where are we today ?

Well we had a wonderful warm sunny day yesterday, And we really enjoyed it. Overnight we had rain and mostly drizzly and overcast all day today. But at least not too cold 56F is doable.I headed out for a walkabout town with my rain hat and umbrella because it was only a light mist. By the time I got to the first street decided I would head back home and get the car to drive to Pettigrew's and the Home Hardware in town. Looking for a small battery for a calculator for Suzie's Dad, Nothing there with that number but looked similar, so I talked to Kim (owner) and she quickly found a reference on the internet to the new number replacement. And now we are good. They bought this store in 2015 and expanded to a larger location and have a really amazing inventory. Really love small town service.
my first walkabout not too nice |
Then home by 3 pm still pretty cold and a west wind coming in behind us but we did have some sunshine. The sun was nice bit cold wind and temps at 48 f nit great for sitting outside yet. So again puttered around did some reading for a while then soon to begin our supper. (something I love to do).

Where have we been this summer?
Have you tested out your Mr. Heater? Getting cold enough to be sure it's good to go! Only 2 days left, looking forward to upcoming travels.
ReplyDeleteWe replaced our Mr.Heater last December with a Blue Flame heater and like it even better, more even heat with a thermostat, works wonderful. And we have been using it more efficient and quieter than the furnace.
DeleteWishing we could leave at the same time but with more things popping up looks like we'll be looking for our Long-Johns.
ReplyDeleteBe Safe, keep Warm and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Getting too chilly here time for us to hit the road, don't want to wear long Johns.
DeleteOh the excitement of waiting to leave...sitting here tonight listening to the wind I wish we where leaving a bit sooner. We are having Christmas with the family this weekend then heading out next Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah , ANTICIPATION, hard to keep waiting, we are so ready to hit the road again. We like to do Christmas and Thanks giving together then we can go.
DeleteWe were supposed to leave the day before you, but the cooling system went in our fridge went and it is out being repaired, so we wait. Looking forward to seeing you and Suzie this winter.
ReplyDeleteOh darn, hopefully you can get that repair done quickly they be on you way, Looking forward to seeing you guys as well. Travel safe.
DeleteMy plan is to leave the middle of November, same as last year(right after seeing the Doc). Have not winterized the MH. Looks like it gets to freezing Saturday and Sunday nights as well with a chance of flurries here in Ottawa. Guess I am going to have to winterize it today so I can get some sleep tonight.
ReplyDeleteWe like to winterize by heading south to a warmer climate. Take care there and be safe when you finally get o n the road.
DeleteYes it is getting colder and we had some of that white stuff in the air last night, thankfully none on the ground this morning. A few things to do here at the Ridge and we will be on our way Saturday. Looks like your reading The Midnight Line, I just finished it, always enjoy Reacher. Safe travels and we will see you down the road.
ReplyDeleteColder and the white stuff is what we want to avoid. Will be nice to get yourself on the first leg of you winter migration. Travel safe.
DeleteI have enjoyed many of Jack Reachers experiences always grab and keep me reading.
So close!!! Yay!! Staying warm and moving before the white stuff hits is the best plan.
ReplyDeleteYes Patsy only one more day then we are outta here.
DeleteVery smart of you to carry spare parts. Hope it doesn't snow before you leave!!
ReplyDeleteWe do have a few spare parts that come in handy incase we need them, things do break. Not suppose to snow here before we leave hopefully we don't get any along the way.
DeleteWe like to listen to the Jack Reacher books while driving.
ReplyDeleteIf I could hear I would enjoy them as well Great stories.
DeleteIt sure hasn’t gotten cold or even chilly here yet!! We are having some nicer temps which means in the low 80s and high 70s.
ReplyDeleteDeparture time is really getting close!!
Now that would be demos we sure would enjoy and day and we slowly make our way south.
DeleteI love your comment above - winterize by heading south! I have to agree. We won't head to Texas until toward the end of December. Fortunately weather is often fairly mild in Southeast Kansas through December. We hope it holds true this year too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cheri this is the way we want to winterize as long as we can. (our 13th year new) We will pass through Texas early December making our way to the southwest that we enjoy more than Texas. Hope you guys have a fun time as well.
