Where are we today?

Well heck we had a great sleep at this Flying J like we usually do. Up and at it by 5 am as usual, getting things taken care of. Oatmeal, coffees and computing is the routine, Then a nice walkabout this Flying J checking out all the trucks that I love to see. But that is just me, and always like to check out the store inside. Not in a hurry again today only 123 miles to go and checking into a campground for 3 nights. It rained all night even this morning for a while. But not a heavy rain, so a goods travel day for us.
heading south on I-95 just drizzle and not much traffic |
now we in the south, cotton fields everywhere |
love these quiet country roads |
But this is their Halloween weekend and the place is packed . We were not prepared for all the kids trick or treating but they all had a great time and so did we.
A very nice site full hookups, (30 amp) but in the bush no satellite reception, and no antenna either but we do have a lot of dvds that we can watch . Not a problem for us.
But the weather was pretty good, rain had stopped and temps in the mid 6o'sF quite comfortable for enjoying our reading outside.
A bit later the wagon rides began taking the kids all around this huge campground , the parents can follow in their golf carts, some were decorated.
Enjoying being outside but the damp cool air was bothering my arthritis, so I put on my new gloves I bought yesterday at the flying J. Wow in no time the pain in my hands was almost gone. These sure are a good investment.
Now we can enjoy much more reading time outside and our happy hour.
Now this is a HUGE campground we only looked at it bit today will check out more in the next couple of days.
Soon time to whip up supper and tonight a couple of bone in chicken breasts on our Weber Q using the grill mat. Not long and they were done to perfection.
Not we can hang out here for a few days , enjoying our FREE camping with full hook ups then head on down the road again.
this be the place |
clubhouse busy so we will stay away |
nice tennis courts |
yes a bowling alley |
this be our site in the woods |
no way can our dish get through those trees |
the view from our Patio |
this one was decorated bit the picture blurry, sorry |
they sure took the pain away my hands much warmer |
Much better weather here |
this be our site in the bush |
the green line is our campsite lots more to see |
love these chicken breasts on the Q |
added to our salad did the trick |
this was our route toady only 123 miles |
Thanks for joining us today .

Where have we been this Winter?
I can hardly wait to get west and out of the trees. I just don't like them. Give me the desert. Be careful getting through Atlanta.
ReplyDeleteOur thoughts exactly, Love the wide open spaces of the desert and dry air.
DeleteWe will take our time in Atlanta have been through there a few times in the past.
Nice gloves, leaves the finger tips open for a good tactile feel, does that come in handy with the eReader? Such a large nice park, and FREE!, I'm surprised you have not taken this route before.
ReplyDeleteI am loving the gloves, they keep the cold and dampness off my aching knuckles and thumbs. Work great with my Kobo as well. We usually headed south through Nashville or I-75 in a hurry to get there, We still have some membership parks we have not been to yet, there is so many.
DeleteA couple of 100 foot cables and you might have better luck with the dish. And mabe walkie talkies to communicate with...
ReplyDeleteI only have 100 feet of cable not enough, we have lots of movies we can watch though and out internet works. .Woukl have to go through 3 campsites and across the road.
DeleteSounds like you are two are on a nice leisurely drive as you start your winter travels. The best kind of traveling.
ReplyDeleteThe rain has been crazy this fall up our way. It is hard to remember a day without it. Continued safe travels.
Thanks guys. Hope the weather clears for you guys.
DeleteWe are enjoying the short travel days then stop for a few, very relaxing
That sure is a huge RV Park. So much rain but at least it stopped allowing you to sit outdoors
ReplyDeleteIt is very huge going to explore more of it today. No rain and temps in the mid 60's in fine with us we can enjoy the outside.
DeleteLooks like a nice campground, I'm sure you can live without your satellite for a few days. :) Enjoy the park!
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty nice we like the price especially. For the little we watch tv not a big deal. I only watch tv when on my computer, when I sit in my recliner I fall asleep in front of it.
DeleteWe stayed their George and Suzie. Isn't it beautiful?
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful area.
DeleteThat is an amazing campground. Much better than Flying J, although I have to admit I like to roam their aisles also.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is and the price is right. I always enjoy the Flying j's as well. Lotsa cool stuff.
DeleteLike you said that would make a great destination park. Great scenery along the way.
ReplyDeleteBe Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
It is wonderful scenery and a nice destination, not much else in the area.
DeleteSounds like you're having an interesting trip south, at a nice relaxed pace.
ReplyDeleteYes Stew we are , will have some longer travel days for a bit but that is just fine with us too.
