Wonderful and sunny day , a bit cooler, service our coach and trying to resolve our fridge issues.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
It was a very warm night for sleeping. No blankets, windows open and fantastic fan running .but we still got a good sleep. Got a nice sunrise this morning then a walkabout town nice and early.
nice sunrise just before 6 am
nice views walking into town on River Road
Then we secured our coach to head around the corner to Pettigrew's Garage at 8 am for Dale to service our coach. Oil change, grease job etc... is due and check things over. All that was done by 8:30 I aired the tires and topped up our fresh water tank as well while we were there.
We have been having an issue with our fridge not working on propane, so I took the coach to RV Lifestyles in Cambridge to see if they could check it out. Sorry, too busy make an appointment in 3 weeks maybe. Hmm not gonna work for us, so back to the drawing board. I researched and did all the things suggested, cleaned the burner, orafice, (nice blue flame) check for air blockage all looks good but not cooling on propane, Hmmm. Most of the day doing this. Still scratching my head.. We need the coach this weekend for a wedding and reception in Niagara Falls New York, then Sunday back here to New Hamburg to get the body work done from our 2 accidents this spring. It will be in the shop for 10 days.
It was cooling on electric so will see how that goes.
Now we did get to read a bit, in the shade for a while
Then I did more research while Suzie went to her optometrist in NewHamburg to have her new glasses checked out, something not quite right.
Then soon time for supper gonna grill and couple of Salmon burgers, and heat up some Bushe's beans to go with them along with my salad as well.
love these beans
burgers and beans on the Q and warm up a couple of
 English muffins for buns.
that did the trick
After supper checked our fridge again on electric. hmm it is warming up again. Ok, next plan, empty our freezer and take it over to her brother's and store in their freezer. In the meantime I fired up our generator for more power on electric and after an hour it seems to be cooling again!
So not sure what the issue is way above my pay grade it is only 5 years old and have never had an issue with it before. At least for now we can save all of our frozen food, most everything else is minimal.
There ya go always something to keep us on our toes, never a dull moment living this lifestyle.
Thanks for stopping on by and hope you had a wonderful day. Much cooler today only in the low 80s F but still very nice.

  1. How does the EU's GDPR effect you as a blogger? Your blog is personal, you do not advertise nor sell advertising. Just asking since my blog is similar.
Before the RV we had a popup with a 3-way fridge that only worked on AC. It was easy to take out and after soaking the propane tubing, including the orifice, in alcohol it worked after I put it back together. Good luck!

    1. I really don't know how EU's GDPR will affect me.like you said our blogs are personal, but I do not I have a lot of readers from there., Soaked the burner and the orifice in alcohol as well.We will see how it works today.
Food luck is always handy with these things.

  2. I adjusted the thermister on the inside of my Dometic on the fins of the refrigerator which helped my cooling. Just a thought. I'll be looking forward to see how your mystery is solved.

    1. I have the thermistor adjusted to full cold, that was one of the first things I tried. The investigation continues.

    2. Not the thermostat George, the thermistor... they are two different things. The thermistor is the little clip located on one of the cooling fins inside the fridge. Moving it might help, but I doubt it.

If that is your original burner, I would suggest that's the problem and I would replace it. I had the same problem, and it's because the slots in the burner tube become elongated over time and the air fuel mixture can't be adjusted so the flame is not as hot as it should be.

    3. I meant the thermistor it is fully adjusted. Seems to be working better now on propane, I soaked the orifice in alcohol and the burner as well. It is only 5 years old , if it continues to give us issues I will replace the burner and orifice.

  3. Good luck with the fridge. The EU thing makes no sense to us either, I chose to ignore it since it isn't specific 'how' to confirm.
Our day yesterday was hotter than the previous so it seems we are a day behind your weather. :)

    1. Not sure about that EU either, will probably take it down in a while.
Loving this hotter weather, feels wonderful and I know you enjoy it as much as we do.

  4. I think the EU thing means when people from over there open your blog, they will get cookies on their computers, just like we do when we open certain sites. The EU law says we must obtain their consent first. Not going to happen. So they put a notice on your blog that when they DO open it, they will get cookies on their computer. Really nothing that will affect us in the long run ... I hope!

  6. So sorry about your frig..seems no matter what it's always an expensive fix if you have to take it in. Does that mean you'll have to give up your home for 10 days when you have it fixed? Dinner looked aweome!

    1. Hopefully this fix is and easy one.
The 10 days is for the accident repairs, we have a caint rented at Rock Glen to enjoy..
Much nicer than a hotel room , more our style.
      Dinner was very tasty thanks.

  7. Oh that's awesome! I believe you're saying a cabin rented..more our style too, but over in CA where we usually go..no camping or cabins near by :(...so we get stuck in a motel..
