Mild weather again overnight with a few raindrops we heard on the roof. Not long to warm up this morning and about 70F (21C) by 10 am but very windy. A sw wind about 30 mph (50 kmh) and overcast most of the day. With gusts up to 60 mph (100kph) sure glad we are not of the road with our coach. I did get a nice walkabout at 7:30 before the winds started. Noticed yesterday a lot of Rv's arriving and they have pretty well filled up the Orchard camping area. The square dancers are back for their yearly reunion, camping and making good use of the clubhouse.

the square dancers camped in the orchard |
Then I took a nice country drive over to Kettle Point and topped the car up with gas, a very good price there compared to elsewhere $1.18 a litre ($3.46 a US gallon) . Then back home putter around a bit and enjoy a tasty light lunch . A roast beef wrap with some salsa and hot sauce, sure did the trick, a nice change.

got gas prices on the rez! |
After lunch back to the fitness centre here in the park, just because its here, amazing and free with with our membership. Now with these high winds we did not like the way the tree beside us was moving in the wind, Last thing we need is another claim on our insurance after already 2 claims this month, So we checked at the office to see if we could re-locate. We selected the site right behind us and Krista said no problem we can move here until the rest of our stay. Perfect!
|
the way the wind is hitting this tree, if it falls would be right on our coach. not good |
So we secured the coach and moved to the site just behind us, maybe 100 feet, but no trees!
|
we moved from site 25 to site 10, facing north instead of south |
Easy move took about 30 minutes and all set up again. Right after we moved the power went out, but no big deal for us, just turned the inverter on set up the satellite dish, charged our computers, fridge on propane as usual. About 3-4 hours later noticed that the power came back on again.

same park different view |
|
our previous site the other side of our dish |
|
we have nice view here just looking east instead of west
now we get morning sun instead of afternoon sun |
|
still a very nice large site |
Supper tonight is a beef stroganoff cooked inside because of the high winds, same recipe as my Turkey Stroganoff , you can click
HERE or my recipe blog top right side bar.

this sure hit the spot and once again more leftovers |
Just another great day warm temps and mostly sunshine after lunch, did get to 75 F (23C) other than the wind it was a perfect day.
Thanks again for taking the time to drop by for a visit, Maybe a sunset later but not waiting for it again tonight.

Where have we been this summer?
Funny how the old dead trees seem to hang on, and living ones are the ones that snap and break. A good move if it worries you. We are lucky that way, no trees around us near the Suite. It was a nasty windy warm day, one we don't care to have repeated.
ReplyDeleteWe were watching that tree bend towards the coach, so no big deal to move to another site with no worry about falling trees.. Much more shelter from the winds here as well.
DeleteGlad you got your coach in a safer spot. Most people like the trees ... I like to park where there are none so there is nothing dropping on your rig in the middle of the night and no trees falling in the wind!!
ReplyDeleteYes we are too, Just like you don't like parking under or near trees, kind of hard in this campground though for the same reasons.
DeleteHope that "big" move didn't wear you out! :cD
ReplyDeleteNot a chance. a wise choice.
DeleteGlad you were able to relocate easily! I agree that was a huge tree and you just never know. What a beautiful day you had. Dinner looks awesome, nothing like good comfort food!
ReplyDeleteIr was an easy move most things we just carried to the other site, and just drive the coach around.
DeleteDinner was very tasty thanks.
Fuel here is 146.9, highest ever. We have had wind also but no where near what you are experiencing. YOU have to do what you feel is right for you.
ReplyDeleteThe full keeps going up bit we don't drive the coach very far in the summer just around Ontario.
DeleteGlad we changed sites, more comfortable here.
Better safe than sorry, good move.
ReplyDeleteYes Pater that's the way we felt too.
