Overcast and cooler, but only for today. Can't have perfect weather everyday.

Where are we today ?

Much cooler last night only 44 f at 5 am so overnight only the bedroom window open a bit. Once it was daylight I did get a few nice walkabouts around this huge campground. Chatted with a few friendly people along that way as well. Just the perimeter road is 2 miles with lots of roadways in between. Just puttered inside and out around a bit making good use of our Mr.Heater. Also making good use of the free wifi at our site, mostly very good.
Walked by the trailer and reminded me of our friends back home
Rob and Pat Aljo, that could not come south this winter
After a light lunch I took a short drive down  to Gunsight Wash, the free BLM 14 day camping area. Drove around a bit and not nearly as many people as there was 2 years ago. Mind you a new host probably enforcing the 14 day limit.
that's telling them, no speeding
It only got to 56f (13C) today with no sunshine at all, overcast all day until 5pm just before the sunset. Still a lot better than the much colder weather back home. Too chilly to sit outside and read for any length of time so I brought my lawn chair inside, I need this chair to be comfortable enough to enjoy my e-reader. With more walkabouts to stretch my legs every now and then.
started another good book
after wrapping up another  J.A. Jance
I am comfy reading in this chair,
good support
3 times today we saw a coyote trot on by, not sure if it was the same one? Too fast each time to get a picture. They don't wear name tags here and there is a lot of them. That's why this campground is called Coyote Howls.
A nice relaxing afternoon enjoying our e-readers a few walkabouts and chatting with a few people. Then just as the sun came out in time for a nice sunset I fired up our Weber Q and grilled a chorizo burger for me and a shrimp burger for Suzie added a small salad sure hit the spot.
shrimp burger ;eft my chorizo burger on the right
sure did the trick so tasty the Chorizo burgers are
just as I was bringing in the burgers did get a decent sunset
Not too bad of a day at all, got a few inside things done and just enjoyed the day. And after dark perfect clear moonless night and the stars are so bright, amazing! Another bonus of the southwest. Because of no light pollution here at all.
Thanks for stopping in and hope you enjoyed your day no matter where you are.

  1. It was nice to see the sun peek out at day's end. Dinner looks excellent as usual. Comfy chairs are a necessary where ever one sits to read a good page turner. It was great to chat for those few minutes today.

  5. We Canadians sure do learn to accept the cooler days here, don't we? Cool here, mid 50's versus 25F back home. We'll take it! We had full sun yesterday and 61F but the winds made it feel like 55. No shelter from it no matter where you sat outside.
You made the best of it for sure!

  6. I don't mind the cooler temps, but the wind and dust make it uncomfortable here in Yuma. Hoping for calmer winds soon.
