A nice day that was so peaceful and relaxing, not sure how it slipped by so quickly though.

Where are we today ?

Another wonderful sunny morning to begin a great desert day. Cool as the desert is but warmed up very nicely as the sun came up. Did get to 75 F (24c) but with a few clouds and slight breeze felt much cooler, especially in the shade.
My first walkabout snagged this wonderful early morning sunrise, Another great way to start the day.
Then at 7.40 am I made a quick trip to the Del Sol market in Yuma for a few needed items and back home about 8:30, beat the traffic. And shopping crowds.
another walkabout the nice area by the laundry room
so nicely maintained
Then after lunch a did a short drive around the area. the gas station on the corner is in California very expensive gas, When in Yuma 10 miles further I can get gas for $2.12 a gallon. $1.87 a gallon cheaper in Arizona, yet the Chevron is always busy, guess people don't care about the price of fuel for their vehicles.

Part of my drive a short way up Sidewinder Road always like to see if this sign is still here to tell us this is near the end of the world, so peaceful here it feels like.

Back home we enjoyed nice a afternoon, kind of overcast a bit at 75F  (24C) but with the clouds and very slight breeze very chilly in the shade.
Before we know it was 3 pm time for Happy Hour at Bill and Patsy's today and as usual we shared a few stories and a few laughs in the sun .
Our new picture this year in front of our Christmas Decorations
Now for supper tonight I have a treat for me BBQ Pig tails and ribs for Suzie. I found my Pigtails at the Del Sol in Wellton a few days ago. Cooked properly these are so tasty. So I used my pressure cooker to do them quickly and make them very tender, of course cooked in sauerkraut. 20 minutes they are ready for the grill mat to be glazed with BBQ sauce to make them all so very tasty.
20 minutes and the ribs an tails fall off the bone tender
About 10 minutes on the grill mat with BBQ sauce and brown sugar
to glaze them
pig tails , kraut and salad with fresh Jalapeno peppers
looks like a lot but the tails are mostly bone
We were watching the sun go down but headed up to the clubhouse for 6 pm for a bit with Bill and Patsy, to listen to the Karaoke that Joe puts on (Joe Maintenance here) he has been doing this for many years, We really enjoyed it his large music selection that is huge plus he is a really good singer. He can play anything that you want to sing, Did not know a lot of the songs but we could read the words so that helps tell the stories
Joe plus a few other singers we very good
this lady was really good too
We were only going to stay for a bit but ended up staying almost 2 hours, The time does fly when you are having fun.
di manage to get a couple of nice sunset shots though.

That was our wonderful day that just kinda slipped on by probably because we enjoyed it so much. Soon time to call it a night.
Hope you had a great one as well and glad that you dropped on by. To check us out.

  1. Beautiful spot and interesting signs. I see Suzi is having a dog fix. I've never heard of eating pigtails.

    1. Thanks Anna we love this area in the desert sound Christmas always warm and sunny. Pigtails are popular in our area back home, and can find them in the Grocery stores that in the Mexican type grocery stores quite tasty, but Suzie doe not care for them. Too much fat.

    1. Thank you, The Karaoke is always fun with Joe. Waking up every morning really makes for an awesome day, and the colourful sunrises make them even better.

    1. We have enjoyed this park for years, It is open to the public I believe $30 a day without a membership, Not real fancy but level clean sites, a nice heated pool and hot tub, full hookups and some nice large decent sites. And the desert views all around us. and usually not real crowded either.

  6. We all had another great day in Paradise. The days are getting warmer again too and the clouds have moved on out. Yay!
Fun times last night at Karaoke. Would have been 'funner' if had got up to sing. :)

    1. It was a fun day for sure and many more on the way.
The Karaoke was fun, but I don't think me singing would be funny at all, probably cleared the place out real quick . lol...

  7. That is one pretty sunrise and plate of pork. We're paying $2.75 for regular here on the FL Gulf Coast - glad I don't live in CA.

    1. Thanks Larry it was very tasty. We don't travel a lot in California and can usually get our fuel in Arizona so not too bad.

  8. Love your new photo. Many of the membership parks seem to be slipping away. If not slipping, their prices have increased. Merry Christmas to both of you!

  9. Tom had heard the price for gas was quite a bit higher in California but that is quite a difference.
It is so true that the best days just seem to quietly and quickly pass by. I agree it is because they are easy to enjoy and when you are with people you enjoy being with they are all the more perfect. Great sunrise and sunset pictures.

    1. Yes a huge difference in fuel prices in California, but has always been that way since we have been coming this way.
We do love the scenery here and hanging out with friends is a bonus as well.
