A relaxing very warm summer day getting stuff done and enjoying the weather and even a campfire with Grill-A dogs.

Where are we today ?

Up by 5:30 this morning and got a few wonderful walkabouts, done watching the sunrise and enjoying this peaceful time of the day. So nice and quiet here this time of day especially after the long weekend is done and most everyone is gone.
By 8:30 we had the laundry ready for me to do in town 3 minutes away but with many machines there I can get all of it done at one time, sheets, blankets, clothes etc, And while the machines do their magic and no one else there, I finished this book below another page turner it was. This is about number 10 of Robert Crais books I have read now and have enjoyed everyone. No more in our Library right now after the next one, but have many more authors to choose from equally as good.
Great book about a K-9 cop
I have started this one  for now and is off to a good start getting right into it again,.
Just enjoying this great weather and do what I usually do read for a bit, putter around for a bit with a few small things I want to do, then read a bit more. Just can't sit and read all day.
our neighbours left this morning so we have much for space again
few things hanging here that don't go in the dryer
Now as usual I take break from reading and get supper ready. Gonna grill a nice Turkey breast that we love and done to perfection as usual, our Weber Q always come through with great meals for us.
using the grill mat again works very good
added a salad and hit the spot, lotsa leftovers plus more bones for soup.
A bit later Tucker dropped by for a Suzie fix and she was happy as well.
After supper outside to read bit , post the blog just enjoying this wonderful bug free warm weather. One neighbour left this afternoon and gave us a mess of fire wood that they did not want to take. Thanks guys much appreciated  and guess we will take care of that tonight.
Got nice campfire going, a rare thing that we do anymore but a nice treat for a change has to be a warm night for us to have a campfire. Now with this going why not do a couple of Grill-A-Dogs something we have not had for a long time. This Grill-A-Dog maker is like a pie iron that I have had for over 40 years. My kids and grandkids grew up with them when we are camping and we still enjoy the odd time as well.  4 slices of bread and 4 hot dog wieners, close it up and on the hot coals for a few minutes  and done to perfection,  but we only had 2 slices of bread so just did 2 , enough for us. A nice camping treat similar to a pogo but not deep fried. All done around a campfire does not get much better than this !
nice fire going now
smells  like camping
my Grill -A-Dog
in side ready to go
on the coals for a few minutes
and done, a real camping treat
Now there ya go what a wonderful warm sunny summer day we had, nothing major to do  just enjoy this amazing lifestyle. After 9 pm , blog posted now and still a great night, so we will site around the fire and read for a while more.
Thanks for stopping by again and hope you had a wonderful summer day as well.
Where have we been this summer ?

    1. They were made in Waterloos Ontario 40 years ago not sure if they are still in business after the old man passed away. It is amazing and does a wonderful job and love it ! Made on aluminum much better than the cast iron ones made now by other companies.

  5. I had never even heard of grill a dog before, looks interesting.

Sometimes when I finish a really good book I have to wait a day or two before starting another. When I have enjoyed the characters so much they become a part of me and I need time to let them go.

    1. The grill a dog is available again on line http://www.grilladog.com, made in Kitchener Ontario. very good quality. A lot of books are by the same authors and I try yo read them in order and the characters carry over. So always a new adventure for them.
