We loved the Willie Nelson Concert (even though it was a late night) and headed on down the road this morning.

Where are we today ?
Plattsville Ontario

After a very late night enjoying the Willie Nelson concert. With Aaron Lewis as the warm up band. They started right on time at 9 pm and played for about 35 minutes, and it still took all that time for them finally get everyone seated for the 9 pm show. People had a heck of a time finding parking spots in the parking lot. When we walked up at 8 pm they were circling everywhere looking for a spot to park. At 7 pm I had counted 62 rigs but noticed quite a few more came in afterwards.
The 3 pics below were taken from the roof of our rig, before the cars started to arrive,
Aaron Lewis and his band were pretty good just to get us in the mood. Then with a short break they set up for Willie and his band (Willie is 82 years old). He did a really good show about 90 minutes of non stop songs. And they were great, he did not do much talking but was still very good. The lady on piano was amazing and I did not realize until later it was his sister, Bobbie Nelson, his older baby sister (she is 85) and began touring with him in 2008.
Willie and Bobbie
The crowd enjoyed his songs and right at the end the ladies rushed the stage for autographs and hand shakes etc... he did a great job pleasing the crowd.
Show done shortly after 11 pm, then we were hearded (all 5,000 of us through the one exit to the parking lot of course through the casino. Back at our rig by 11:30. 2 hours past our bedtime but it was worth it, So glad that we were able to catch him in concert. Ok the the tickets were $70. each, but we got 2 nights free parking, $10. each free slot play and one free lunch buffet, So all in all really not to bad and we got to see Willie , something we have wanted to do for quite a few years.
After that late night we slept in very late until 6:30 this morning, got some coffees and computing done, nice walkabout the resort for a while. Then secured the coach and on the road by 9 am, about 5 minutes before the rain started. We got lucky this morning !
A nice drive through some rain here and there not much traffic for our 143 miles drive to Plattsville. Got here just after noon and all set up then enjoyed the rest of the day, here  it is so quite, peaceful and no neighbours, we love it.

230 kms,  143 miles today
some rain for a bit
and dry roads too
All set up but a storm predicted so secured our awning, just in case, Don't want to loose another one!
Relaxing outside,
nice and warm
storm on its way, so far
just some rain and wind
Not a problem tonight, supper is our leftover Tuna pot pie from the other night, just reheat in the oven and add to a salad, fresh grapes and cantaloupe.
tatsy? yup !
What a great weekend we had, enjoying the Casino, the concert and experiencing all the rv's at the casino parking lot.
Now we can enjoy some major peace and quiet here. Gotta love this life style !
Thanks for checking us out , hope you had a couple great days too!

  1. Lucky you! The last Willy concert we attended was back in Ohio in the ... heck, I don't remember. BUT... loved hearing Bobbie on the piano... and the whole enchilado! Dang! I still remember the Waylon warm up and all. And even the drunken guy next to us (it was an open outdoors concert)... his lady friend got pissed at him and dumped the ice chest (yes, full of ice) all over his passed out body... oh... what memories. I envy you and every minute of your time. Would love to have been there!

    1. It was fun, but inside. Only the one you lady in front of us against the wall all decked out leather skirt , top and hat, really loved Wille she showed it by all her movements and carrying on. Not a problem though and did not block anybodies view.
Yes and Bobbie on the piano was the icing on the cake.

  3. Willy's sister probably tours with him to keep him out of trouble, it seems to find him. I have to give him credit, still touring at 82. :c)

  6. What fun that would be! Looks like you had an amazing time plus the cost wasn't bad at all. It's hard to believe anyone at 82 is still out entertaining folks. That had to take a lot of energy.

  8. Wow, sounds like you had a great time. Well worth the $70 each! We once paid about $120 each to go see Bruce Springsteen many years ago and didn't regret spending it then either. Can't believe he is still out there touring at 82 but then maybe that is what keeps he young. ;-)

  10. Our friends saw him in Texas and just loved the show. I had no doubt you two would have a blast! I really don't think $70 for a ticket for that show was out of line at all. Glad y'all had such a grand time.
